Could not have been more comfortable in these lovely units. They are modern, quite and very well equipped for a short or extended stay. Lovely gardens make for a very relaxing atmosphere. We will certainly use these units again in the future and would not hesitate to recommend them . Your hosts are lovely and could not be more helpful.

Very Friendly Service. We have a 3yr old and a 22month old and the owners offered to put a safety gate up so the children couldn't climb the internal stairs. (we didn't even need to ask.) This was put up within 15min of arriving. Lots of books, dvd's to keep us all entertained from childrens to adults. There was no undercover parking. The garage attached to the house is used for storage. My dear husband had never used a front loader washing machine and ruined some of our good clothes by having the temperature on 90. He thought this was the time. The property is not far by car to the Yarra Valley Wineries and the Dandenong Ranges. 40 min in a train to the City. All in all I would come back in a heart beat to stay.

We were delighted with the accommodation. It had everything we needed and more. The arrival and settling in bit was made easy by Lisa giving us a guided tour. When we experienced very high temperatures our request for an extra fan was willingly met. There were 6 of us staying in the unit (which was actually Cotton Villa, not Massai, I think!) and there was plenty of room for us all to live comfortably. The villa was well located for our needs. We are coming back to Croydon again next year and almost certainly will be staying at Bungunyah again. 10/10 Lisa and Kees :)

Lisa and Kees are very friendly and helpful and nothing was ever a problem.
The home is beautifully set up and provides absolutely everything you could need during a vacation. The kitchen had more utensils etc than you would ever expect to find in a holiday let and so made eating in a pleasure rather than a chore.
Response from Bungunyah Apartments - 08/04/2012
Owner
It is so nice to hear that we have plenty of utensils etc in the villas. Kees & I have travelled a lot ourselves and have tried to make Bungunyah how we would like to find accommodation for ourselves. It is important when you are away from home to have good facilities which make life and your holiday much more easy and beneficial. If you want a self contained villa it is important to not only have the kitchen but the utensils and facilities so that you can cook and live comfortably away from home. Many thanks Lisa

My family and I stayed at the Maasai villa in May while we attended my daughters wedding. The wedding was at Bramleigh reception centre, so staying at the Maasai was very convenient as it was within walking distance to the venue. Every thing you could possibly need was right here, a true home away from home. We were able to cook our own meals, or go out to restaurants or the hotel for a counter meal if we wanted to. Everything was close by. Because we were in Melbourne mainly for the wedding we didnt do much sightseeing, but there is plenty to see in and around the area. I would recommend the Maasai for a great stay for family or a group of friends.

We booked 3 villas, Maasai, Cotton and Kaori, for ourselves and relatives. All villas were well equiped and comfortable. This is a great setting for families looking for accommodation to-gether and much more comfortable than booking several motel rooms. We were there for our daughters wedding, nearby, and stayed in the Maasai apartment, which was ideal for the bridal party to prepare upstairs, while the rest of the family were downstairs. The owners were very welcomming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. All in all a great place to stay if you are visiting the area. The feel of being in the country, yet close to everthing. The only thing to be aware of is the drive in is a little steep, and lower type vehicles can scrape underneath when turning in and out.

This holiday was a surprise holiday for my husbands birthday. Right from the start I found Lisa the most helpful person when booking. When we arrived the house we stayed in was absolutely fantastic literally a home from home. This made the start to our holiday a great memorable experience. We had older children(3)with us and they actually didn't mind staying in for the odd night it was so lovely. The location is very private and quiet so at night you could definately relax. We hired a car for various trips one to do would be a tour of the Yarra Valley Wine area, the Ocean Road, Puffin Billy Rail Road to name a few. I would recommend Bungunyah Villas very highly - would definately go back. Thank you Lisa & Kees for an excellent stay.

Excellent position midway between city and countryside and is a short drive from the Danenong Mountains and many other interesting places to visit. We had a great holiday at Bungunyah. The homestead is beautiful and they don't mind if you go for a walk around the delightful gardens. We found the location excellent as reletives live in Boronia and Croydon. The appartments have everything you need to make a holiday enjoyable. As it was Christmas when we stayed they had Christmas decorations around the appartment to make us feel like we were at home. The water was cut off the first day we were there as there was a bust water meter in the street. The owners supplied us with fresh drinking water and buckets for flushing the toilets. We found the price are very reasonable.

Left on 11/22/2010 for a stay in November 2010
We rented three villas over a four day period in November for our wedding. We had our immediate family and also some interstate visitors staying at the property. The feedback was that the accommodation was spacious, beautifully decorated, the gardens were in bloom, inside the villas it was clean and contained with everything you might need (linen, crockery, cutlery, BBQ etc...). The children were kept entertained by the collection of books, Dvds, music CDs and the two TVs. The location was in Croydon and not East Melbourne as stated in your review, but was so very close to our wedding venue. The villas were a short drive away from Coles, boutique shops, restaurants and the local train station. The only tip for couples getting married is that a limousine can not make it up the windy driveway. I walked down to the road for the limousine, and as it was a beautiful sunny day it was no problem for us, but could be an issue on a rainy day.

This was our first experience as a family to australia. Lisa and Kees were exceptional hosts right from the start. They were brilliant by providing information about the surrounding area and helping us plan activities throughout our entire two-week stay. Lisa was able to help us pinpoint activities from the young children with us to the teenagers and adults. With Lisa's & Kees help, we toured several wineries in the valley and she was even kind enough to assist us getting tickets to the Wallabies vs all Blacks rugby game. This tucked away location is ideal for anyone traveling with children or just for a couple's retreat. The accommodations were immaculate, fully furnished, with modern appliances and included wireless internet (a necessity for our traveling teenagers). Their establishment is located only 40 minutes from the airport and downtown with all it has to offer, but also close enough to experience the beautiful scenic countryside of the Yarra Valley. We would like to thank Lisa and Kees for all they did for us in making this a very memorable vacation/holiday!

Leesa and Kaas were very friendly and helpful from our first enquiry until the day we checked out.
The apartment was clean, well appointed and the decor tasteful. (actually, we stayed in the Masai, I would like to have picked it up and taken it home). The extended family stayed in the Cotton and Kaori Apartments and were equally impressed.
The Bungunyah Apartments are located conveniently to the Dandenong Ranges. And if you are fit, you can walk to the shops or train station.
All you need is provided and on arrival you have tea/coffee/milk to get you started before you do a shop for the rest of your stay.
The best thing was 'felt like being at home'. Least...don't think there was anything.
We would highly recommend any one to stay at Bungunyah and if we need family accommodation again it will be our first choice.
I would rate it 5/5!!! -
