BrisbaneElwood Beaches was a great home away from home.
Left on 05/09/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Upon arriving at Elwood Beach after a 2 day drive from Brisbane, we were pleasantly surprised at what we found. A modern, well appointed home away from home for us and our dogs for our time in Melbourne.
Our communications with Boutique Stays were easy and everything was taken care of when we got there with a beautiful hamper waiting for us on arrival.
The location is fantastic with a short walk to cafe's and shops in Ormond St and a massive dog friendly park literally a 2 minute walk from the front door.
We would have loved to have stayed much longer than we did. Unfortunately time wasn't on our side but we definitely hope to be back at our home away from home again one day.

We have stayed at Elwood Beaches several times in the past 5 years and it has always been exceptional. The quality of the accommodation is fantastic - spotlessly clean, well furnished with every thing we need for a short or long stay. The little touchers - food hamper, bathroom amenities are also of an amazingly high standard. It is a fantastic location that is a short walk to great restaurant, cafes and the Elsternwick Dog Park.

Excellent accommodation when we first arrived in australia, close to the beach, 5 mins from trams and 10 mins from trains. Very comfortable, cleaners were fast and efficient and the owners were very helpful

Check-in was great. as I arrived very late it was very welcoming with lights and heating on.Thoughtfully there was breakfast goodies including the most yummy sourdough bread. The location worked well as my kids live in Elwood. I have tried to re-book but unfortunately there is a minimum 5 day stay- 4 days would be better.Decor modern, tidy and clean. Well equipped kitchen. I was very happy to stay and try to book each time I go to see my kids.

Extremely happy with Elwood Beaches - first impression on arrival was homely & warm. Loved the fireplace as weather was cold for our week in Melbourne. Breakfast hamper plentiful and well thought out. Cleanliness throughout stood out. Loved Elwood Beaches position close to transport and cafes/restaurants. Only critique was owner using driveway in front of dining room window to work on restoration of his car at weekend. Overall a delightful B&B; which we would use again.

Bristol, U..K.Very enjoyable stay in delightful apartment.

I was visiting Melbourne on a 6 week academic visit to Monash University. Boutique Stays' Elwood Beaches bungalow apartment could hardly have been better. The location is excellent, opposite a park, and just around the corner from the shops and cafés of Elwood. Very pleasant neighbourhood. There was a direct bus to Monash from across the road, as well as good bus and Metlink connections to, St Kilda's, Melbourne's CBD, and so forth.
The apartment itself was very attractive and comfortable. Very well decorated, with many tasteful touches. It felt fresh when I arrived and efficient cleaners kept it that way. Wireless internet, cable TV (I think I recall that correctly), DVD etc.. And a good collection of books and Dvds. The flat did take a while to warm up if I had been out all day (this was midwinter). But nothing else could have been better. I would certainly want to stay here again when I return to Melbourne. -

Booked this second visit after thorougly enjoying our first stay, but were very disappointed with cleanliness, and large mould growing in the fridge which must have been there some time. Owners came back just before we left, and said they'd had problems with the cleaners ! No compensation offered. Sadly we will not stay there again.

Manager
Thanks for this feedback eric3iron, we appreciate your honesty and would love to entice you back again. As you can see from the other reviews we exceed guest expectations the majority of the time and we’re disappointed we didn’t achieve this for you on this occasion. Please let us know if you are coming back and would consider giving us the opportunity to make things right for you, either at Elwood Beaches or at another lovely Boutique Stays property.
Regarding your comment on the fridge, we had not received any previous guest feedback about that, and we replaced the fridge after your stay. We had just transitioned to a new housekeeping model in the month you stayed (Nov 2010), and whilst we thought everything was under control, we obviously missed the mark for your stay. However, over the last 12 months the new housekeeping team have lifted the overall cleaning scores, previously 8.7 average which was already great, now 9.0 average which we are all thrilled with.
Kind regards,

We had stayed at another Boutique Stays property previously and we were so glad that we decided to make a last minute booking from the "Spirit of australia" on our way back from Tasmania. We had a very rough crossing and it was so wonderful to drive off the ferry and straight to Elwood Beaches to be greeted by a warm fire, soft lighting, and beautiful music playing as we opened the door. The accommodation was very tasteful and provided every comfort for a couple. The breakfast provisions were generous and we enjoyed the thoughtful touch of fresh strawberries and chocolates.
The location is fantastic for walking along the bayside and restaurants and cafes are but a walk away in Elwood. We loved our stay at Elwood Beaches and its proximity to St Kilda, Melbourne and the bayside. I have no hesitation in recommending Boutique Stays. -

We stayed a week in Elwood Beaches and just a delightful place to stay and so well priced. They thought of everything that one would want and also dog friendly. The lovely owners at the back of the house even removed their car so we could safely park our trailer. The accommodation was comfortable and clean and modern. I would most definitely return to this lovley one bedroom home.

The unit was wonderfully appointed, relaxing and convienient to public transport. The hosts were very helpfull in all ways. The location is close to all the best of Melbourne but in a nice quite area away from the hussle and bussell. Highly recommended.
