1920s home in the Cooper Young neighborhood (recently made American Planning Association 10 Great Neighborhoods in USA list) of Midtown Memphis. Walking distance to multiple restaurants and a couple of bars or to Tiger Lane and the Liberty Bowl. The home has a full kitchen, dining room, air conditioning, free private parking, and washer and dryer. There are no parking fees or cleaning fees. I have 1 other Cooper Young property 2 BR/1 BA available and 1 suburban Germantown 1 BR/1 BA condo. Ask about availability if interested or if this house is booked. The Cooper Young neighborhood is called a lot of names. I hear trendy, bohemian, artsy, hip, and many more adjectives to describe it. Either way I love it. There are great restaurants to choose from all surrounding the intersection at Cooper St. and Young Ave. There is Soul Fish Cafe, Young Avenue Deli, The Beauty Shop, Do (like doe/dough) Tsunami, and Sweet Grass, just to name a few. Several of the locations double as a bar and Young Avenue Deli has pool and live music. Otherlands and Java Cabana are nice little coffee houses with acoustic music, poetry readings, and great coffee. It is best to park free at my place and walk the 3 or 4 blocks to the various spots in town. Parking gets crowded in the evening as do the crowds.

Additional notes from owner
I charge a one nights rent for a security deposit and that goes toward your first nights rent that will be paid via PayPal in order to reserve the house. There are no fees for the guests via PayPal. I accept and pay those fees as part of doing a credit business just like most retailers do for credit and debit card business. The security deposit is refundable for any cancellation reason up to 48 hours prior to the guest's check-in date and time of 4 pm Central. I will not refund the deposit for any reason within 48 hours of check-in or at check-in time. Keep in mind I'm taking a risk on you as a guest just as you are taking on me as a host.
The only other extra cost is $ 20 per person per night after 3 guests. So 3 people can stay here at the given rate. A 4th person will cost an extra $ 20 per night. A 5th person means you will pay an additional $40 per night for the extra two guests over 3 guests. I have to give those examples based on past experience.
There are no additional fees and parking is free.

We had a wonderful time at George's spot here in Cooper Young. If you're the type that would prefer to get a taste of how the locals (or at least one faction thereof) live, this is the ideal spot. We had some phenomenal weather, which gave us a chance to enjoy the couch on the porch and when we were inside, the fully furnished living room along with all the very detailed dining and entertainment recommendations George developed kept us busy, not to mention the kitchen with every appliance you would need for a few days stay. George made payment, key pickup/drop off and communication really easy and fun. Low stress, high comfort. Highly recommended spot.

Wonderfully close to everything Memphis.
Great neighborhood, quaint and comfortable. Like the house. Great for a family outing. Enough room to be more than comfortable, all the great stuff of home, a short walk to nice local restaurants and an easy drive to main attractions like the zoo, Graceland and The Peabody.
A bargain!
