Caspar Cottage is a very charming, private, quiet, nicely and newly furnished cottage that my husband and I built on our five private acres near the end of a quiet road, just three miles up the ridge from the ocean and ten minutes from Mendocino or Fort Bragg. It's a perfect place for a honeymoon, anniversary, special occasion or quiet retreat. It has a comfortable queen bed with down comforter and nice linens, new sleeper sofa, fully equipped kitchen, gas BBQ and picnic table, lovely custom cabinetry and a beautiful marble tiled bathroom with a jet tub and large shower. Caspar Cottage is located near the end of a quiet road, at the eastern edge of the Russian Gulch State Park and across the road from Jackson State Forest. From the cottage you can walk down through a Redwood canyon to the 30 foot waterfall in the park. We are just five minutes from the beach and ten minutes from the village of Mendocino or Fort Bragg. On our five private acres we built the cottage and also our home and my husband's one man woodworking shop which are nearby, but obscured by trees and a garden. The cottage is very private. It sits in the sun and is surrounded on the north side by trees. The dark night sky provides views to the stars of the Milky Way and the full moon. You'll like it!

Sitting in the sun after a big storm brings peace and tranquility - especially so as the cottage is surrounded by big trees, lovely pots of flowers and hand crafted ceramic art. Inside there is a warm feeling generated by warm cabinetry, special travel pictures, and lovely linens. The owner is close by and stopped by with a warm greeting and suggestions of special vistas to explore. Thank you Diane for the yummy bread, coffee, etc. - such a lovely way to start the morning.

It took an hr for us to decide a trip to Mendocino and another 10 mins to decide on caspar cottage. We typically spend lot of time researching the place of visit and stay and had lot of doubts on caspar cottage since we dint do my research. But we were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the cottage and hospitality of Diane. Really a cute place with all required amenities and cottage was well designed to have everything we need for the stay. It is right in between mendocino and fort brag making it easy to go on either direction. Close access to beach,waterfall and state parks from here. My kids had a wonderful time in the cottage and a beautiful walk in redwoods for me and my wife. Definitely I will visit mendacino and caspar cottage again. Spl thanks to Diane for taking us in last minute and for the hospitality.

Many, many thanks for providing such a gorgeous "home away from home". The cottage is magnificent, so beautifully crafted, and you have thought of every last detail. Not only is the cottage as fine as it appears on the web,but far nicer! Spotless, well decorated, tranquil, and lovely! From the moment we arrived we felt like we were home. Every little detail is taken care of. It is obvious that both of you are skilled artists. Please know that we continually appreciated your creations all week. The walk through the redwoods to the waterfall was absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing this magical cottage with us, and thanks for your generous hospitality. We'll be back!
