Enchanting and relaxing house close to the city.

Left on 04/20/2013 for a stay in April 2013

The house was wonderful. It was so inviting that it was sometimes hard to leave and do other things. We spent 10 days there and we would go back in a heartbeat. The owner was always helpful if we asked for assistance and went way out of his way to make sure that we all our needs were met.

      Great House in Mendoza

Left on 02/18/2013 for a stay in February 2013

My wife and I shared the accommodation with another couple. A good choice for us. Julio welcomed us on our arrival and ensured we had everything we required.

The house was beautiful, very comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was a 20 minute walk from downtown in a good area.

Mendoza is very clean and friendly. Wine country was great!!

      Spectacular Retreat with Charming Details!

Left on 01/06/2013 for a stay in December 2012

My husband and I stayed in Julio's home for 3 nights / 4 days over December 2012. His home was a charming oasis with beautiful artwork and greenery inside and out. The location was convenient and safe to the city downtown center. After traveling for sometime we appreciated the conveniences like a laundry machine, well-stocked kitchen, and separate bathrooms!

Our first full day in Mendoza, my husband and I (a young couple in their late 20's / early 30's) decided to be adventurous and ride bikes through wine country instead of signing up for a guided wine tour from Julio or other tour operators. We took the bus to Maipu (for 2.70 argentine Pesos each) and rented bikes (for 30 argentine Pesos each). While we were able to visit 3 wineries throughout the day on a dime, our bums were sore and the ride was not only dusty, sweaty, but a bit treacherous. After about 2 minutes of riding from the bike rental location, the bike path disappeared and we were left to ride on a busy "highway" with trucks buzzing past and occasionally on the bumpy gravel shoulder.

At the last minute we contacted Julio, and he was able to schedule a spectacular day in Lujan de Cuyo to 3 wineries. What an amazing experience! We went to some of the most beautiful wineries I've ever seen with views of the road leading to Chile and enjoyed a delectable lunch and wine pairing at Ruca Malen. Julio even managed to squeeze in a visit for us to an olive oil vineyard at the end of the day.

Julio dropped us off at the airport the next day. He was truly a warm and generous Mendoza host. Highly highly recommend! Definitely sign up for his tour. Wished we could have gone to Uco Valley. Next time!

By far, this was the most relaxing stay we had in argentina, because Julio's home was relaxing, serene, and he had cable tv (we surprisingly caught our tv shows from home).

      Great house and great owner

Left on 11/02/2012 for a stay in October 2012

A friend and I spent four nights in this house during October and would thoroughly recommend it.

The place is really nicely fit out and has all the amenities you would expect plus more. The outside jacuzzi is great when the weather allows, and there is also a large bath in the master bedroom. Location of the house is very convenient.

To top it off the owner of the property Julio is extremely helpful, very friendly and (for those that don't speak Spanish) speaks perfect English.

      Definitely worth a stay.

      Good Location

Left on 09/26/2012 for a stay in September 2012

This house is conveniently located not too far a walk from downtown, very close to a good wine store and pizza take out. It has a nice garden for enjoying the weather with a hot tub which unfortunately wasn't working.
It is not the cleanest place we have stayed in, although a cleaner comes in there is no change of towels etc. The master bedroom has a lovely walk in closet but it is full of the owner's clothes. Somehow he missed that there would be four of us so he quickly ran up stairs and changed the sheets but did not clean the room which meant that we had to clean the bathroom but could not find a vacuum cleaner so the rug remained unclean for our stay.

      Beautiful home and friendly owner

Left on 09/10/2012 for a stay in September 2012

We booked this property on-line, based on description and pictures. Both were accurate. The property is a lovely and unique small home designed by an architect with input from Julio, the owner. It is beautifully conceived and rendered. The house is comfortable and the enclosed courtyard is like an extra room. We felt privileged to stay here. The location is convenient to center Mendoza, which was reached on foot or by inexpensive taxi. Julio is a great guy who wants to be sure you enjoy his place. We actually booked two days of winery tours with him, at better rates than we found otherwise. Having Julio as a traveling companion on the tours was fun and gave us a greater understanding of argentina. He was also accurate in his recommendations in Mendoza for shopping and restaurants.

A short walk into town to explore but also situated close to several shops and restaurants. Highly recommend staying here.

I heart Julio and his home!

Left on 04/21/2012 for a stay in March 2012

My friend and I stayed at Julio's beautiful home for 4 nights. It was a little haven to us after the noise in Buenos aires and a couple of whirlwind days in El Calafate. The house is perfect, and just a ten minute stroll from all the activity in the center of town.
But the real gem is Julio. He is charming and gracious and saved my butt when I foolishly left my passport behind me. He made his way back to the house, found the passport, and drove it out to the airport. A complete and absolute gentleman!!!

Beautiful home away from home in the heart of Mendoza

Left on 04/12/2012 for a stay in April 2012

We travelled as 2 couples and this was an extraordinarily comfortable house. Very homey, with all the comforts you could want. We made good use of the traditional outdoor argentinian BBQ. The yard is beautiful to sit and enjoy a glass of wine.
Easy access to Mendoza's Plaza d'Independencia - about a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute cab ride (for ~AR$10). Amenities nearby (within 2-5 min walk)- complete Grocery, ice cream shop, wine shop, boutique stores, ATM, restaurants.
Julio was a very gracious host - helping with reservations, activity recommendations and general advice. Housekeeper came every other day which was very nice. Highly recommended!

Left on 10/20/2011 for a stay in October 2011

Julio is a very gracious fun guy. He called us every few days to make sure we were ok. The house is very secure and private.
Julio's home is cozy and welcoming, there is a cute little court yard to sit in the sun with a book, or 3 tvs if you prefer to watch television. It is a short walk into the main city or a longer but still doable walk to San Martin Park, many restaurants are within walking distance as well. At no time were we worried about walking, even at night. Just be smart and cautious, you are in a city. Taxis are plentiful or private drivers are easily hired, Julio can help you. Julio is available to help you with anything you need, he leaves a cell phone for your use as well as his number if you need him. We invited him out to dinner with us and it was alot of fun. Not only is Julio very witty, he knows everyone! And he can help you with the menu as well as talking to the waiters if your Spanish is a little shaky. We considered staying in the wine country but are glad we decided to stay in Julio's house. It is so convenient to everything when you don't have a car. And no one in their right mind should drive in argentina! =) Leave it to the locals.

Left on 07/28/2011 for a stay in May 2011

We stayed in this beautiful home for 3 or 4 nights in May 2011 and loved it. We had recently got engaged and so we loved the suprise bottle of bubbles upon arrival. We were also there over easter as there was also beautiful easter eggs waiting for us.

This house is really nice. Its a little bit of a walk into the centre of Mendoza but not too much of an issue. Lots of restaurants and little shops near by to keep you fed and entertained. We used the Parilla and drank plenty of beautiful wine. The spa was great as well - it takes quite a while to heat up as does any spa.

All in all this was a beautiful home. Perfect for two couples as there is one bedroom downstairs and one upstairs. Very private and lots of beautiful flowers around the property, Definately would return.

      Beautiful designer home in Mendoza

Left on 06/06/2011 for a stay in November 2010

I stayed at Julio's house with my family in November 2011. The house is very nice, with a beautiful modern and practical design. It was built by a famous argentine architect and it shows: everything is well thought out, making the house a very comfortable (and also stylish) place to stay. The house is well located in center of Mendoza and in walking distance to most places. The owner was very kind and helpful and even provided us with a pre-paid cell phone for the duration of our stay.

      Magical holiday in the andes

Left on 03/28/2011 for a stay in October 2010

Julio's house was the perfect base for visiting Mendoza and the andes nearby. Tucked away on an ordinary residential street, we could hardly believe it when we walked through the outside door and saw the beautifully designed modern house with a huge glass front, and through it a large living area that stretched up to the roof. There were four of us, two couples, so we loved the space and privacy we had, with one bedroom upstairs (plus sun-deck) and the other downstairs, both en-suite. The house had all the mod-cons as well as little extra treats like the jacuzzi in the garden. Julio, the owner of the house, was both charming and helpful, nothing we asked for was too much trouble. We only had a week to explore the area and thanks to him, we visited the most beautiful wineries in the mountains and saw places we'd never have found on our own. Thank you, Julio. See you again soon!

      Nice house, but...

Left on 01/24/2011 for a stay in January 2011

The owner, Julio, is a very nice man, helpful showing his house and explaining how things work. He provides maps and local information, and is easily reached by cell phone that he provides. The house has a master suite on lower level, second bedrm w/bath upstairs. Kitchen is well stocked. There is a lovely garden with jacuzzi. Washing machine, although very old, works fine. Clothesline. WiFi and computer provided. Located near many bus lines, but no bus information provided. About a mile and a half to center of town. Maid service. The house has too much clutter and lots of dust. It is Julio's house and his belongings are everywhere. He has cleared out ample closet space. The beds are not comfortable, and the pillows are old and flat. There is air conditioning, but Julio insists that it be kept at 26 degrees C, which is not comfortable for me. This house is not as guest- ready as other vacation rentals I have used.

      - The bus information can be found in all the "Tourist Information Poins" in the city, and in Internet. Is to big to be printed. And you never asked me that information.

      - The exact distance to center of town is shorter, (1,23 Km - 0,76 miles) taken from Google Earth.

      - The noise is because at this moment are workers building a wall in the neighbor house (only from Monday to Friday and at decent hours), and the dust is due the same reason and because Mendoza is very dry, dusty and windy

      - My belongings are only in a part of the closets, there are a lot of space for the guests.

      - The beds are new, and very good quality. I have more pillows, but you said that those were enough

      - 26 ºC degrees (78ºF) is the temperature recomended by our government during the energy crises we are having, it's not so high because we are in the hottest days of the summer, and the temp outside can reach more than 40 ºC (104 ºF)

Left on 11/30/2010 for a stay in March 2010

Two friends and I stayed at Julio's house for a week in March of this year. It was a delight. The modern, chic yet comfortable house far outweighed out expectations. The living/dining room is a delightful space with high ceilings and full wall access to the garden and jacuzzi. upstairs is the second bedrom with private sun terrace, all well within walking distance of the centre of Mendoza. An additional unexpeted bonus was Julio himself, a charismatic and infinitely helpful chap who having lived in Mendoza for many years is a well of knowledge about the city and the surrounding area including the vineyards. you would do well to get a few hints and tips from him before planning your stay in Mendoza.

A supermarket is a few minutes walk away and the best empanadas I've tasted can be bought just over the road (or delivered to the house if you're feeling lazy). Honeymoon in Mendoza

Left on 11/12/2010 for a stay in August 2010

We spent a week at Julio's house in Mendoza. Before arriving in Mendoza, Julio was very helpful through email and answered all of my questions quickly. We are city people so the house was perfect for us because we were within walking distance to everything - all five plazas, as well as grocery stores, etc. Julio provided us with lots of valuable information about the wine regions that was very helpful when planning tours. We felt very at home at his house and took advantage of the hot tub and outdoor barbeque. We would definitely stay at Julio's house again.

We stayed here while attending a Spanish school and shared the home with Julio.
The home is lovely, well cared for, perfectly located and very secure. We would certainly have no hesitation in returning if we are in Mendoza again.
Julio was a friendly host and very knowledgable about the area.

Such a good time. Wineries and restaurants, mountains and unforgettable car drives. Julio was the perfect host providing space and a beautiful home but on hand if we needed anything. We couldn't have had a better time.
      Exceeded all our expectations.

      Fantastic place to stay

Left on 11/03/2010 for a stay in October 2010

We stayed for a week in Julio's fantastic house in between a few days either side in Buenos aires. Mendoza seemed a nicer place in every respect and the house and Julio's hospitality just put the icing on the cake. The house is ideal for a couple but can accommodate more. The highpoint of its design is the double height living space with exposed brickwork and the outside space that proved to be a real suntrap with the sun moving across during the day. The best Mendozan restaurants are just about walkable, and further afield, there are some really excellent vineyards offering fabulous degustation menus with accompanying wines. All in all, a really fantastic place to stay - muchas gracias, Julio!
