Description from the owner
The vacation rental in Merida with the best service, the most beautiful ambiance, the most amenities plus an ideal location. At Casa Dos, we pride ourselves on making your Merida vacation the best one ever.
From the beginning Casa Dos has been a work of great detail. The home was originally renovated to be a private residence and a work of art. The best of everything was selected to build the home: a reverse osmosis water treatment system, low voltage art lighting, oversized air conditioning units, imported appliances, restored antique hardware fixtures... everything. Casa Dos is probably the only vacation rental that...Read more

We loved Casa Dos and it is a peaceful sanctuary retreat from the busy city life. The house is beautifully decorated and well maintained. The complimentary fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious as well as the wines that were included with our stay.
We were welcomed with fresh flowers throughout Casa Dos which was a nice suprise.
Our host was gracious and provided a wealth of information about life and what there is to do and see in Merida.
The location was convenient and easy to venture out around Merida. We enjoyed Merida and plan to return.
We are looking forward to a return to Casa Dos in the very near future.

You walk in and your jaw drops – Casa Dos is beautifully crafted and appointed in a comfortable, elegant fashion giving you both the modern conveniences flavored with the Mayan architect.
Eric did not miss a thing when it came to opening up this spacious house to us – luxury linens, well equipped kitchen (I had everything needed to cook up some scrumptious meals), docking stations for your music, effortless Wi-Fi usage, fresh squeezed orange juice (with lots of extra oranges to squeeze your own), fresh organic gourmet coffee beans, and roses and lily’s in vases throughout the house.
Exploring Merida was effortless due to our location. One day, a Sunday when there were so many activities going on, we walked three round trips to Plaza Grande from the house. Walking to everything was easy and convenient and don’t think we are some young 20 – 30 year olds, because we’re not.
Merida is not a place to say you need blankets, but I guess we hit it at a time where the temperature got pretty cool in the evening (locals saying it was the coldest it's been in 40 years). We called Eric the next morning to see if we could get some blankets – he said that he would bring some by. By the time we got back to the house later that afternoon there were no blankets and thought we may have another chilly evening. Eric (wearing a jacket he said he has never had to wear in Merida) finally arrived early that evening with brand new, freshly washed white down comforters. He had gone all over Merida looking for white comforters (no other color would do) that afternoon. Snuggled in our comforters, we slept warmly for the rest of our stay.
Eric took the extra steps, the extra mile to make our weeklong stay at Casa Dos one of the most relaxing and beautiful vacations in a place we have never visited before. We loved it so much, that Merida is a place I’m considering on moving to.
Thank you Eric for making this a wonderful discovery. We can’t wait to come back. -

My last trip to Merida was definitely "the best" from arriving "on time"at the airport to being delivered to the absolutely gorgeous Casa Dos, opening the front door and entering into that delightful outdoor space started off a glorious week. Eric spoiled us by having everything we could possibly want stocked and ready for us. Casa Dos is immaculate, beautiful and convenient to everything, the pool is perfect for those early morning and late night swims and great to sit around at happy hour, we did not want to leave, we will go back and we will stay at Casa Dos.

The house, gardens and pool were great. We had everything we needed in the
very well appointed kitchen and baths. The house is a Colonial, restored and
updated in such a way to offer total comfort in a charming and picturesque
setting that maintains the beauty of the original architecture. The "casita" is
totally modern and sits behind the pool with large windows to view the private
garden. If desired, one can feel comfortably secluded from the rest of the
property in the contemporary "casita." The entire property was beautifully
maintained and the owners were very helpful with information about Merida
and the many interesting places to visit in the countryside. I highly
recommend this vacation home. -

Casa Dos feels like home (a VERY nice home) from the minute you step foot through the door. The kitchen is wonderfully functional and well stocked. The lounge areas by the pool are breezy and relaxing. The bathrooms are beautiful. The pool is divine. The master bedroom suite is dreamy. What more can I say. Until we buy our own, it's a beautiful home away from home in Merida. We will definitly be back!

The home was tastefully designed with an exquisite combination of old an new. Also, convenient to "El Centro", where there is plenty to do.
Fresh tortillas are available a block away, and right next door to the tortilleria, a small store called "Kennedy", where you can buy fresh eggs. They are mysteriously nearly all double yolked!
Eric is extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area, and can help you decide on activities, local events, etc.. When I go back, i'll have to try more of these activities, it's definately hard to pry yourself from the house, it is extremely relaxing, and the pool a delight.

I have been visiting Merida for years and have not had a more pleasant stay
than at Casa Dos. It is located in the nicest of the neighborhoods that make
up the centro. The property is immaculately kept - from the beautiful
furnishings and art to the crystal clear pool and grounds. Since finding Casa
Dos I can't imagine staying anywhere else - I've been back three times. -

We have rented a LOT of owner managed vacation homes and this one was by far the best! The house was stocked with everything we could possibly need (including organic coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice). The location was perfect, close to everything but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. A parking space was included but we didn't need it as there was always a place to park on the street right in front of the house. The owner was very helpful, but at the same time - non-intrusive.
We would definitely stay here again. -

BostonFabulous home in a great location!
Left on 01/05/2010 for a stay in December 2009
Casa Dos is beautifully appointed, spacious and comfortable. It would be especially good when the weather is really hot--as it is in Merida so much of the time--because only the bedrooms and kitchen (which can be air-conditioned) are enclosed. All the other living spaces are open to the air.
The master bedroom is particularly luxurious with its large bathroom, private garden and plenty of garden space. If you plan on cooking, the kitchen offers everything you need including plenty of pots, blender, juicer and a dishwasher for cleaning up.
The house is located a leisurely 10-minute walk from the main square of the city, around the corner from the Merida English Library and close to Santiago square and market. Parking is not a problem since the house comes with a space reserved in a parking garage 30 seconds from the front door.
