Set between the jade-emerald mountains of the Sierra Nevada National Park, the vacation property provides a unique sense of rest and calmness. Several customers nicknamed the property the “fairy tale place” due to the design of the houses and the flowery gardens always filled with many kinds of butterflies and birds. Chalet San Usebio have a charming and uniquely traditional Andean style. Furnished with the modern conveniences yet they keep the delightful and magic atmosphere of a Venezuelan mountain property. The chalet has a living room, dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, three bedrooms and three full bathrooms, every room is fully... furnished with traditional style furniture. We can cater to smaller groups and larger groups. The chalet has Cable-Tv and DVD, telephone, hair dryer, fully equipped kitchen and barbeque area, and all newer and always fresh linen, towels, pillows and wool blanquets.

We have, in the corresponding barbecue area, dishwasher, dining chairs, hammocks and parasols. The rooms are a minimum of 65m2. The property has fruit trees, coffee, bananas, oranges and lemons, but the most beautiful and majestic trees are the samanes and eucalyptus; some of them are more than 50 feet tall and they all area beautiful source of shadow, fresh, revitalizing scent and they provide a special soothing sight. The rest of the property has grass, shrubs, lots of flowers, indiginous herbs, some of them are medicinal species.Our entrance is private and we keep it locked at the front portal, which provides more privacy. We are at 80 meters from the main road where buses go by every hour, and connect Mucunutan north bound to the Mucuy Tabay and Mucuy Baja y Alta and Tabay; South-west bound the road connects to the towns of El Morro, Los Nevados, The Hatico. Taxis are inexpensive and available near by.The rest of our neighbors are mainly, the younger generations of the original inhabitants of the area who settled in these lands hundreds of years ago. Their main line of work is agriculture and cattle raising, and the related activities. The panoramic view is one of the most valuable assets of the property, and the fact that the lands of the park are so well protected, becomes a guarantee that they will remain untouched, providing forever that virgin sight of the Andean paradise. Forest rangers and park rangers, here in Merida, are very jealous of the park and its wellbeing; they take good care of the park because the Sierra Nevada has many species of plants and animals and birds unique to this area.

Behind these green mountains are many snow-capped peaks of the Andes’ Sierra. From the 'El Toro' peak runs a water stream down, a stream that also feeds from many springs on its way to the Chama great river. These particular stream is named La Fria, and passes through our property in that area marking the boundary of the property to the east, south and west. The stream passes through one of the only areas where the great gorge La Fria is flat, which gives us the exclusive use within the property, allowing us to use it for fishing, playing and bathing. Trouts constantly travel up the stream to visit the hatcheries for mating, the trout farms are at about 1 km from our property, a great place to visit and catch your own fish. Also in this area of the Municipality Santos Marquina the tourists count with lots of support INATUR (The Venezuelan institution promoting and protecting tourism) provides tourist information offices and kiosks in several parts of the municipality to help visitors guide and find your version of relaxation and adventure; From kayacking, water-rafting, to hicking, extreme outdoors or just quiet exploration, bird watching, tracks into the parks; there is also hot springs, canoeing, theme parks, historical areas, monuments, planetarium, the stadium with Venezuelan base-ball games!!, bull fights arenas, lots of different genre of night clubs, restaurants, and bars. We have in this area many streams and springs, hot springs with healing minerals. Traveling through this area of Merida requires carrying a bathing suit because the virgin waters flowing in streams sprouting from everywhere invite everyone for a swim! The closest hot springs are in Tabay nearest 10 minutes from our property, it has several wells well maintained. The climate and view are the most attractive elements of Merida, because it allows Merida’s vegetation to be evergreen in the absence of extreme rainfall.The average day’s forecast is partly cloudy, and the sun is very hot at noon, but the breeze is always a little cold. In the evenings, after 5 pm, the fog begins to fall from the moor and is a show worth observing, bringing with it colder temperatures that accompany us throughout the night. Additional Location Information

Mucunutan belongs to Santos Marquina's county. It is located by the border of the Sierra Nevada National park and it is part of the towns that form the Andean moors area. The largest town closest to us is Tabay, (5 minutes by car). We are located 25 minutes from the city of Merida, and just out of the main road (TransAndina National road) that connects the state of Merida with the Trujillo and Barinas states (to the east) and also to Zulia and Tachira state, to the west. The location is ideal because it allows for a sense of isolation due to the fact that the property is practically surrounded by huge green mountains, and the presence of the Great stream that drops from the Sierra's peaks provides with a sense if calmness, its passive water murmur can be heard from any place of the property. Yet the property is only five minutes (by car) to the town of Tabay, and only 25 minutes from down town of Merida City the main inter-state bus station, and the airport. But we're only 25 minutes from downtown Merida City, five minutes (by car) to the village of Tabay which has an antique colonial style, a very old history, but remains beautiful, from its 'Plaza Bolivar' it is possible to see spectacular views of several snow-covered peaks. Tabay has bank ATM machines, a Bank, several restaurants, bars, cafes, cyber, ice cream parlors, bakeries, butcher shops, supermarkets, many hardware stores, carpentry and many other businesses. Our location, at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada National Park makes our property appear to be larger because our land connects to the parks' land, and the entire view east and south-west connects our property without interruption or buildings, to the skirts and the mountains, and it is open to the majestic mountains of the Sierra Nevada.

  Un hermoso chalet de Las Minas de San Usebio nos recibió durante la Semana Santa de este año. Hermoso paisaje, excelente atención, a tan solo 30 minutos de Mérida. Vale la pena pasar unas tranquilas vacaciones alejados de la ciudad, en tan agradable lugar. El chalet está en excelentes condiciones, todo muy impecable, los cuartos con balcón son hermosos, la cocina en perfectas condiciones, agua caliente, tv con cable. Totalmente recomendable. Volvería con gusto.

  The property is absolutely beautiful!!! so well kept and clean everyone is so nice...the food is amazing, you can taste the wholesomeness, loved the hiking, horseback riding the bright sun beaming...but it's nice and cool out, such a wonderful get away, and this is the coziest place to stay...definitely recommend!
