My family and i had a lovely week's holiday in Mevagissey during august which was highlighted staying at the Retreat.
I can thoroughly recommend staying in this wonderful house with its fantastic space and luxurious amenities.
Only drawback being the hill down to the town but overall it was a small price to pay for a fantastic week.

Great house, very well appointed. Lovely big kitchen and conservatory, ideal for extended families. great cosy tv room for autumn evenings. Spa is fantastic !
Mevagissey is a quaint Cornish fishing village, well situated to explore many places in Cornwall. I'd defiitately recommend nearby Charlestown, and the Eden project is a 'must see' for any gardener.

Two families shared this house which is in a good location and is well equipped and spacious. The house was spotlessy clean and tidy. However the heating system is virtually inoperable and we spent a wet October week cold and unable to dry clothes; the radiators did not work consistently and the underfloor heating was patchy at best.

I cannot begin to describe the wow factor this cottage Oozes. The owners have catered for a vast age range very successfully and with such a passion and love for all things to make your holiday stay 1st class.
This would be one cottage that I would recommend highly, and you should be proud to have on your site.

The house is wonderful place to spend a week. The conservatory was brilliant to sit in of an evening when the weather didnt permit you to sit outside! The house is clean and well equipped. With the exception of one day during our week stay when we visited St Micheals Mount and Perranport, we didnt really have to travel very far to see sights such as the Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan. There are lovely beaches close by and you can hire bikes to take in a bit more strenous effort to see the wonderful country side. With a regular ferry over to Fowey too it was a lovely varied week in comfortable surrounds.
The booking and administration too was very easy and the owners very helpful with any queries pre visit.
Lovely spacious holiday home in a fabulous location.

The rental company and the owners of the house were very helpful and I cannot fault the service we received. The house is lovely, really well equipped and spacious. But what really makes it special is the location, because although within walking distance of the village the house and gardens are very secluded. The garden is great for adults for relaxing and enjoying the hot tub and for children for games and playing on the play equipment. And the patio with BBQ and Bar are great in the evening. Order your shopping from Tesco and have it scheduled for delivery soon after you arrive and you have the perfect holiday. Could have done with a couple of cd players in the kitchen and conservatory but apart from that we were very happy and had a lovely holiday.

We were a four generational family group with ages ranging from 95 years
to 6 weeks and this house suited us wonderfully. The kitchen and lounge
were spacious and well appointed and then there was a fantastic
conservatory. One bedroom on the ground floor was en-suite which really
suited the oldest member of our party. The garden gave the little ones
plenty of space for safe playing. The hot-tub, which the owner quietly
fettled whilst we still slept, was a wonderful place to end the day. The
Retreat is on the edge of the village, located half way up a very steep hill so
you need to be fit walk down to the harbour. Mevagissey has plenty of
eating and drinking opportunities and a couple of convenience stores but
we had the local supermarket deliver provisions when we arrived. There is
easy access to the South West Coastal Path with its wonderful coastal
scenery and lovely sandy coves. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are only 2
miles away and the Eden Project is about 8 miles distant. Don't save Eden
for a wet day because everybody else does and it is too crowded. Take the
ferry to Fowey one day if you have time. The National Trust property at
Lanhydrock near Bodmin was well worth a visit. Avoid driving through the
narrow streets of Mevagissey, they are unforgiving to wing mirrors and
worse! The little problem we had in the house, I forget what is was now, was
speedily dealt with by the owner, who we found very helpful. We had a
lovely fortnight at the Retreat and really enjoyed our return to Cornwall after
too many years abcence.

loved the house, loved the holiday. Did not agree
with the nasty letter sent to us from the owner on
We were accused of leaving the house in 'a mess'. I
disagree. We paid £1,000 for the week. We all had to
leave very early on the morning of our departure. We

I suggest that in future, the owner includes the cost
of a cleaning service in the price then he can
complain to them. Very sad
