Jackson, GAWonderful to stay here - great for the family

Everything was great the only thing I would change is putting steps off the parking space to the beach - it was a little hard for the grandparents to get up and down from.

Left on 07/06/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We stayed 6 nights & never felt crowded. When you max the number of people allowed, you expect to be stepping on each other, however, the floor plan & size was perfect for our large family. If you have small children don't worry about the stairs. The stairs are located outside of the unit (inside the building). "Queen" bedrooms were comfy & offered a fair amount of privacy. The large kitchen was great for family meals. The 1st level stove was awful & there was a very limited amount of cookware. We bought pots to cook dinner for our group. Coffee maker = boo! 2nd level couches were a little grubby. Bring bedding for pull-out couches only 1 extra sheet & 1 blanket. The door ways are in serious need of door mats. Finding an outlet that works was a challenge, you'll probably try 2-3 before you do. The section of beach right in front of the house was awesome! We set up our shade canopies & left them all week (life jackets & toys too). The beach felt very safe, a sheriff's deputy drove by on beach-patrol every hour. View from decks & access to the beach are beyond compare! If you have teenagers, the house is close enough to the water you would probably feel comfortable keeping an eye on them from the deck (if you're like me, you're close enough you can holler at them from the deck). The decks & sliding glass doors, in every room, on the ocean side of the house make the house. We watched dolphins swim by several times a day. Plenty of deck chairs for everyone. Beautiful sunset views! Convenience store right across the street (watch out for the prices, yikes). We were bummed to find the elevator broken. 2/4 men in our family suffer from major back issues & were looking forward to using the elevator for luggage. We parked 3 Suv's & a U-Haul in the covered parking. If you're looking for luxury, this house isn't it, very few extras. However, for a family at capacity, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Very clean, great floor plan, huge decks, amazing views & great location!

The house was nice, equipped well and clean. The sheets were very scratchy and all the Tv's did not work. Other than that it was a very nice stay. I would recommend upgrading the linens in the bedrooms.

I would suggest that recycle containers be available to alleviate the volume of garbage. The lower level stovetop did not work very well, nor did the upper level clothes dryer. Other than that, the house was very accommodating and we loved the location. Check in/out was simple and the staff friendly. Thanks to all and hope to see you again next year!!

Each year it deteriorates more. There is no routine maintenance. We will not stay there again unless there is major improvement.. -

We were looking for a carefree getaway and found it! Clean, with everything you'll need for your stay. View of the gulf and step directly out onto a deck from 4 of the 5 bedrooms. Large comfortable common areas for mingling and relaxing. There's a well-stock convenience store across the street. Within walking distance to a nice restaurant. The property management staff was great. No complaints.

Murfreesboro, TNGreat place to stay for family get together!!
Left on 12/21/2009 for a stay in September 2009
The people at Forgotten Coast were always there for us if they were needed. The home is great to rent both units and have a family get together. The units are spacy and clean. Location is right across from a store, close to Toucan's grill only about 30 minutes from Panama City and one of the most peaceful beaches you can stay on. The only thing I didn't care for was the elevator. Was little difficult to understand how to use. Other than that was an excellent experience and wonderful week.

Newnan GAa perfect beach family reunion/Thanksgiving
Left on 08/13/2009 for a stay in November 2006
The house was large enough to accommodate my huge southern family. We were especially drawn to the luxury of 2 full kitchens which we knew that we would need to cook Thanksgiving dinner for all who attended. (plus all the other meals). Many of us actually live in Panama City but wanted the tranquility of Mexico Beach. (so much less commercial). Our family is still talking about what a great time they had & how they wish we could do it again. The lengthy back porch overlooking the ocean was a big plus as well as the elevator for carrying luggage & supplies. My son recently married @ a 4 star resort but I think they would have been just as happy w/ this beach home/location!

Rochelle, GAFamily Reunion Fun Time
Left on 08/13/2009 for a stay in July 2009
Our family gathered at Mexico Beach this past July for a wonderful, and fun time. Our Children, and Grandchildren came from Colorado Springs, Colorado,
Albuquerque, New Mexico, Scott AFB, Illinois, Cordele, and Rochelle, Georgia. No one wanted to leave when it was time to pack up and go home, and everyone said, as usual, that is the shortest week of the year! WE are scheduled to return next June 2010 to the same house which we have had for the past two years, No better place to relax and enjoy ourselves than at "Barefoot Beach House" at Mexico Beach, FL..

Tallahassee, FloridaAWESOME!!
Left on 08/13/2009 for a stay in June 2007
We live in Florida and have vacationed at Mexico Beach with relatives for years, it is without a doubt our favorite part of Florida. The Barefoot Beach House is large enough to accomodate our kids..and their kids as well. The elevator is great for loading & unloading instead of having to lug everything up the stairs, not to mention they supply all of the conveniences of home. My daughter & her hubby from South Carolina joined us with their "5" kids...the kids all said that it was the best vacation they have ever had!! My husband & I have also stayed on the top floor for a 3 day weekend and it is always great & relaxing. We hope to stay there again soon!!!!!

Rural South Central IllinoisWonderful Stay at the Barefoot Beach House
Left on 08/12/2009 for a stay in April 2008
We had a wonderful stay at the Barefoot Beach House! Easy to pick up the keys. The house was nice and clean, tastefully decorated. We rented the entire house, with extended family staying with us there was plenty of room for everyone. 2 sets of washers and dryers was great and being able to cook in the huge kitchen was a big plus. The cabinets had everything we needed to cook and serve our meals. Being across the road from the local general store was great, we just picked up our food and took it back to the house to prepare. We loved being right on the beach! Being from a rural farming area we enjoyed Mexico Beach much more than the Panama City Beach area with all it's hussle and bussle(too overwhelming). We also enjoyed eatting at Killer Seafood just across and down the road a little. We thought the food was much better than the big name places in PCB. About the only thing I would change would be to add more screen windows and doors through out the house, especially on the beach side to hear the waves at night without letting in bugs. But then I love open windows to let the breeze in, even on hot summer days! Would love to rent a place and spend some more time on the Emerald Coast!!!
