Left on 03/21/2012 for a stay in March 2012
My friends and I rented this property during our spring break. It is perfect if you want to be on the beach but away from the madness of South Beach during the day. It was a few minute walk to the beach, where there was a substantial poolside food and drink menu for lunch. Half-price drinks at happy hour were excellent. Area was relatively quiet, and therefore well suited for all types of groups. Did not feel crowded by people at all, even though we were there during the busy season.
The hotel in which this property is located is well decorated, and the amenities it provides should not be understated. The concierge proved very helpful in finding quality restaurants in South Beach (very few options nearby), and calling us a taxi each night.
The property itself was high in value given the low cost of nightly rental. The five of us found the size of the condo more than adequate, and did not feel that we sacrificed personal space. One unspoken quality of this property was the number of mirrors and side tables, which meant that it was not difficult for five girls to get ready to go out at the same time. The beds were comfortable, and there were more than enough extra pillows and blankets. The large fridge was perfect for our leftovers and drinks each night.
Working with Playa Property Management was wonderful. There was never more than an hour or two that passed between any inquiry of mine leading up to our stay and a thoughtful reply. All problems before and during our stay were rectified as quickly and smoothly as possible. For example, the doors in the condo are difficult to open and shut because of Florida's humidity. When I contacted someone regarding this issue, it was fixed the next morning while we were all at the beach, and it was no longer a problem during our stay.
I would absolutely recommend this property to any type of group. Keep in mind that this is in North Beach (but close to midbeach), which means it will be a taxi ride to anywhere in South Beach. That being said, we definitely preferred the slight isolation from the spring break chaos, with the ease to join it when desired. For a group of college students looking to get away without depleting their bank accounts, I would say this was the perfect location.
