We rented the house for 5 days and it was great. It was located near a lot of big malls and restaurants. The house itself was very cozy. Next time we go to Miami we'll surely be renting it again!! Thx Raul for the great service

We stayed with 3 adults for one week in this house in little havanna. The place is very nice, neer to calle ocho und near to the bus stations. There are are a few good shops to get good things to cook and eat at calle ocho. We enjoyed that. The neighborhood is ok, but sometimes loud, espacially when you have the room in the back of the house.
We had no car in Miami but there are two busstops near the house 8th Street and 1st Street that brings you to downtowm. The way to Miami Beach and South Beach is very long because you have to change the bus or Metromover and there is often a horrible traffic jam on the bridge to South Beach. It took us always minimum 1 hour and max over 2 hours to get to the beach.
If something is missing we just wrote an e-mail to raul and the housekeeping fixed it. So that was fine. But there were also a few things that we missed, for example to more chairs to sit outside. Four people could live in the front of the house and only to chairs to sit outside? The sleepingroom in the back of the house don´t have a possibility to make the room dark, only white curtains are there. So we always wake up very early. It is also not possible to open every door or window in the house...we don´t like air-con so it was hard to get fresh air in the house.
The Kitchen, the living room an the bathroom got everything you need but the house was not really clean when we arrived. First we had to clean the kitchen... there was a lot of dust and fat. The floor looked clean but after our first day we had black feet and had to wear shoes all the time instead of walking barefoot in the house. The worst things are the shower curtain and the hammock: they are full of mildew!!
So the result: Nice house, good place and good price but a few things are missing an some things are really dirty.Response from Raul - 03/27/2013

Everything was clean as always before their arrival. Look at my other reviews. I supervise the cleanings myself. They even told me specifically after arrival that the kitchen was perfect but only needed two small towels to dry some dishes they had used. By the second day of their stay my maintenance person observed these guests outside in the lawn barefoot coming in and out of the house. This is before they complained that their feet got dirty. There are two chairs in the small table in the outside porch. I don't put more than that as it is not necessary. There were plenty of chairs inside as well. They even wanted to move the 4 chairs in the back of the property with a table and a huge umbrella to the front lawn which i found a bit odd. We found the hammock on the grass where the sprinklers are after their stay, and when we went in to clean the bathroom we found it completely wet, towels, even the rug. They were here for a week and it looked like they spent a month without cleaning. They broke my bathroom towel holder, and even requested to stay two hours past checkout time, which I allowed, but it was a huge inconvenience. So basically nice guests but kind of dirty.

My husband and I stayed here with our 5 month old baby for our first family vacation. The house was very spacious and met all of our needs including a portable playpen provided by the owner Raul. We maintained contact with Raul through email (liked that the house had WiFi!) who always replied promptly and made us feel welcome. The house was a great location for anyone who has a car to visit the Miami sites like Vizcaya museum, South Beach, the Everglades, Key Biscayne, Fairchild gardens and Monkey Jungle. We also enjoyed Little Havana and felt secure in the house with its gated parking. Overall, a nice place to stay!

You can rent this house with closed eyes, you will not be disappointed. A very nice and lovely house and a very good place.
Ideal for family or two couples.

Raul is great! He stayed in constant contact and worked hard to accommodate me and my two cousins early arrival. The house was clean and Raul provided anything we needed, from towels, to dishes...even a cold drink in the fridge. We enjoyed walking over to the shops and restaurants in the heart of "Little Havana". I would recommend this place to anyone looking for convenience and affordability and hope to come back on my next visit!

We really enjoyed our stay in Miami. The house is spacious and fully equipped. The location is good, near Downtown and Miami Beach but at the same time in a quiet residential area. We didn`t meet Raul in person but he answered all my emails promptly.

I went with a few teammates for a mini vacation before the start of school. I was a little skeptical of the area at first but the residence is gated, which made me more comfortable. The place isn't too far from south beach.Also, there are plenty of shops around the house. Will definitely be staying here when I visit again.

Raul makes you feel like family (his beautiful mom even stopped by to make sure everything was in order...not in intrusive way...)! The house is historic and shows some age, it was as described and very clean. The best thing about the "casita" is the feeling of being home in a familiar cottage setting. Raul takes pride in the small and helpful details. This is a residential neighborhood, we even borrowed a cup of sugar from the neighbor! We shared the property with another guest in the back area and it was helpful that Raul informed us of his arrival. The only disappointment was the hammock on the porch,it appears to be there for decoration and unusable. There is a notebook with helpful information about the Little Havana and lots of brochures about Miami. We walked two blocs up to Calle Ocho during the day but not at night. There is a small back yard with no pool or nearby beach. Most of the streets are "one way" and access to the freeway to South Beach is easy. Bring your own groceries and pick up fresh fruit and vegetables from the vendors' truck down the street. The rental is fine for "home-base" if you do not like hotels.

We were actually in Miami for a convention and needed just a place to lay our heads. This place is much more. Its quiet, relaxing, very cute and quaint, and Raul was never more than a phone call away. He followed up when we got there, made sure we were comfortable and then we didn't hear from him again until we left. Out only "complaint" was that the TV was kind of small... However! when you are in Miami are you going to be sitting at the house watching tv?! Probably not. I loved the location and would absolutely, recommend this place to anyone travelling to the area. I can't wait to go back and stay again.

We stayed here for 12 nights with our 18 month old Son at the beginning of april 2012. The house is even better than we had anticipated and is possibly more spacious than the photos show!
We met Raul, the owner, a few times and he was always friendly and gave us ideas of places to visit. The house was perfect but I felt we could have called Raul if we needed anything or if there were any issues. There is a small studio apartment attached to the house but this wasn't a problem at all. The internal doors are very secure and the occupants weren't heard our side.
The house is ideally situated to explore all of Miami with Coral Gables, Miami Beach, the Everglades and even the Keys all within driving distance.
Staying in Little Havana really made our holiday. We loved the freedom you get when staying in a house instead of a hotel room and all three of us had a thoroughly good holiday! Thanks again Raul!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is spacious and clean, and the owner, Raul, is very accommodating. We didn't have any problems or issues but I felt that should something come up, he would be there to assist.
The location is perfect if you have a car - very easy access to highways and hence any place you want to go. Calle ocho is also just 3 blocks away with plenty of restaurants and stuff. At first I felt that the area is a bit sketchy (and I am talking about the entire Little Havana and not around the house specifically), but in the end I think it is just poorer than the shiny 5-star strip on Miami Beach... (surprise, surprise!...) We had no issues with security and at no point felt threatened.
All in all, I think it is great value for your buck! -

We reached the house earlier than arranged, but everything was prepared to enter the house. The house is like described on the homepage but one information is missing:
The house is a shared one. In the same building a resident is living. If you don´t know that, you will be surprised and frightened to see somebody in your yard or have once a motorcycle inside. The neighbourhood is not one of the best ones, but we did know that. We didn´t meet Raul to clarify this situation since we were on sight seeing all day. All other things, like rental rate were o. k., the security deposit was sent back at our day of departure, a pre-paid mobile phone was available in the house (especially for foreign visitors).Response from Raul - 03/09/2012

There are no surprise features with me as you will read on any of my reviews. The information is very clear and upfront as stated on the rental agreement that this renter signed. He knew fully well and very SPECIFICALLY that there is a studio in the back of the property separated from and with no access to the house as evidenced by the signed rental agreement. That being said, the renter never called me with the phone I provided for them to clarify anything, as they arrived very late at night, not early, making it impossible to greet them at the house.

I always enjoy staying with the locals and experiencing the culture of the town, in addition to a good value. This rental had it all. Right in the heart of Little Havana, we walked to Calle Ocho for some great Cuban food, recommended by Raul. South Beach was only a 10 minute drive away, and every where else we went (Coconut Grove, Miami International Mall, Aventura Mall, Sunny Isles, etc.) were only 15 to 20 minutes away. Raul provided great service, and the accomadations included gated parking for our car and free wi-fi. As with most of the other reviews, we definitely enjoyed our stay.

The location of this little house is in the middle of Little Havana and close to everything after that...we had a rental car and could go just about any where in 20 minutes - Miami South beach, Miami downtown, Biscayne Bay, airport, many golf courses (incl. Doral), Dolphine Mall, Brickell Street, Coral Gables...public transit is also easily accessable.
The home is big enough for 4 adults and more if you don't mind sharing the bathroom and the open plan makes for a spacious feel. I liked that the 2 bedrooms were very separate and private, there are high ceilings and we were very comfortable.
The owner Raul is very accomodating, helpful and fair, it was a pleasure to rent his place. -

We chose to stay at Little Havana Historic House because we wanted a different Miami experience than the touristy South Beach one.
We were very pleased with our choice! The house is just a couple of blocks from the great cafés, restaurants and cigar shops of Calle Ocho, the Cuban / Latin american part of Miami. We had a nice Cuban breakfast with excellent coffee every morning and toward the end of our stay felt almost like regulars at the café. :)
If you have a car, the location is perfect for quick visits to other parts of Miami as well. South Beach is 5-10 minutes by car, depending on the traffic. Very accessible. We didn't take public transport anywhere so can't really comment on that aspect.
The house is lovely, exactly as in the photos. We felt right at home during our week there. Raul is a very nice guy and a wonderful host who made us feel welcome and was very helpful in every possible way.
We can warmly recommend Little Havana Historic House and will definitely stay there again the next time! :) -

Little Havanna is very cool, especially in our case, tourists from outside U.S.A. but who already knew Miami. We were two guests in the house, my brother and I, (30-35 age) for one month, and had a great time in the region. The house is very close to south beach, and also of the highways that connect all the interesting places in Miami. And the main, the home owner, Raul, is a very cool dude, always ready to help. The house is very well maintained, the hosts do not really need to worry as virtually anything! Thank you Ralph, nice to meet ya.

The house is located two blocks from Calle 8 and 10/15 minutes driving distance from South Beach. we where 3 adults but i think that the property can easily accommodate 4 people (or more using the coach in the living room) shearing same bathroom.

Not only did the owner create a book of important facts/food recommendations but he also meet us at the property. This one- on-one contact with the owner gave me a welcome home feeling. The place had a modern feel. The location is very close to downtown Miami which is perfect for our vacation.

We stayed here for about a week and it was perfect. Close to all popular destinations and attractions. The house itself is a great size, we were a party of four. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful with many stores and restaurants. As stated by others Raul was very helpful and reached out to use many times to ensure we were ok and happy. He also recommended places we should visit during our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

We were nearby all of the great things Calle Ocho has to offer. It is so centrally located, we were within minutes of South Beach, shopping centers, and the airport. The house is just as pictured, the rooms are spacious. The living room in particular is very large and comfortable.
Raul in particular should be commended for his great service, for being so responsive and accommodating. He is truly a professional who is invested in his guests' experience. -

Raul's house in the colorful and lively Little Havana is the perfect base for trips to South Beach, numerous Miami shopping malls, the Keys and the Everglades. Spacious, well equipped - the remotely operated and locked driveway is a great extra. Our family of five grown-ups had plenty of room to stretch out and cool off after eventful days. Raul was the perfect, hospitable host and made sure everything was fine.

Thank you Raul, once again for making our Miami vacation one we will never forget! This house is spacious and has everything you possibly need from cooking utensils to a iron, hair dryer, fully equipped kitchen, full bathroom with vanity, two great size bedrooms with ample closet space.. For the the price you will not regret all that you are getting in this contemporary furnished house. We not only felt at home but we were in the heart of South Beach and close to all the happening spots Miami has to offer. Raul also provided a great book in the home with all the local attractions and great places to eat which we found so helpful. This is like a home away from your home...thanks again Raul!!! God bless.
