Lovely cottage in a friendly place

Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in July 2012

It was good that the landlord lived just two doors away; they were very welcoming and helpful.
This charming little cottage was tucked away behind other cottages in the heart of the village. The garden faced south and had sun all day long (Yes, it was sunny!).
The village of Middleton is just on the edge of The Peak District and is ideally placed to access the dales and many local attractions. There are excellent views from above the village.

We really enjoyed staying at the cottage and visiting the dales. A slightly larger TV would improve facilities.

      Peaceful and reclusive stay

Left on 01/05/2012 for a stay in December 2011

The property is very small exactly what it says on the box with living and cooking in same area. Nice bedroom and spacious bathroom/shower.
The village is friendly and easily connected by bus to other towns close by. A recommended location.

      cosy

Left on 12/08/2011 for a stay in October 2011

This cottage is delighful, comfortable, warm with a small but well equipt kitchen. The cottage is located to the centre of the village. It has it's own parking space but this space is very tight as you have to drive in between two cottage and sharp right on a graveled area. The location is wonderful if you want to travel around and see the peak district. I really enjoyed my stay and it was wonderful to have my little dog with me. The owners are very friendly and left me a welcome pack of milk and bread, tea and coffee.

A negative was that you advertised this cottage as being a few minutes walk to a pub. This was an attraction to me as I was spending the week on my own and thought I could walk around to the pub for an evening meal a few evenings. However the pub had been sold and was closed down. This was very disappointing.

The only negative which I believe may be resolved now

Perfect location for peak district walks

Left on 09/17/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Very nice owners. Cottage had everything we needed. Could benefit from a shower and perhaps a new matteress on the bed. Settee was great TV a little too high on the wall which effected the picture. Otherwise everything was fabulous

Rustic Stone Cottage in the Derbyshire Dales.

Left on 08/20/2011 for a stay in June 2011

The cottage was really well set up with everything we needed. There was even a large library of books, CDs and Dvds; for when we decided to just stay in and chill out. The house is full of little knick-knacks and ornaments giving it a really lovely homely feel.

The cottage exudes rustic charm with it's stone walls and exposed beams. Overall Chatterbox Cottage is very comfortable. With the modern gas fired central heating on, it is also very cozy.

Excellent location for getting out of doors into the countryside and visiting the local attactions.

One of the best features of Chatterbox Cottage is the young couple who own it. They were very friendly, helpful and informative.

Great accommodation, terrific hosts and the landscape of the Peak District and Derbyshire Dales on our doorstep, what more could we ask for.

Superb acccommodation within easy reach of everything

Left on 12/02/2009 for a stay in October 2009

This is the second time we have stayed here and once again it was perfect. We walked to the pub, reacquainted ourselves with newly found friends, chatted to the neighbours who all offered advice about the local sights and generally had a good time. The walk around the reservoir was amazing. Good walks for the dog who was even welcomed in the pub. The house had everything we needed, even a welcome pack of chocolates. All the tourist spots are within close proximity. We loved the Matlock Illuminations. There is still more to see and we will be back again.
