On the Dordogne border, famous for sunflowers and its Cahors wine, in a hectare of picturesque parkland is situated the wonderful 14th Century Château d'Ax. The grand fireplace, original features and sweeping views over the valley and rolling countryside make the Château d'Ax a truly unique rental property, ideal for a family group looking for an experience they will never forget. The Chateau d'Ax is available on its own for groups of up to 24 or with the maison du parc for groups of up to 28. Within the grounds are a large swimming pool and a dining terrace with BBQ.

The chateau is suitable for rental on its own (for groups of up... to 24) or together with the maison du parc for groups of up to 28. On the ground floor is the living room with grand fireplace, a fully-equipped kitchen, a salon and a TV room. On the first floor there are 5 bedrooms: 3 doubles, a twin and a single. One of the doubles has a connecting living room. There are also 2 bathrooms. On the second floor there are 3 further bedrooms: a double, a triple (with double and single bed) and a twin. There is also a further full bathroom. The chateau also has a self-contained apartment within it comprising a living room with fireplace, a kitchen, a double bedroom and a dormitory room (with low ceiling) with 5 single beds - ideal for children. Outside there is a hectare of grounds full of fruit trees with a 14x7m gated swimming pool and a dining terrace with BBQ area. The pool is shared with the occasional guest in the cottage (4 pax maximum).

*Please note, locations shown on the maps are approximations only The nearest airport is Toulouse (125km away) and the nearest towns are Tournon (8km) and Montcuq (15km). Cahors is just 25km away. Local markets can be found on each day of the week within a reasonable drive of the chateau in all directions; however the Sunday market of Montcuq is the pick of them. Tennis facilities are within 3km of the chateau, and an 18-hole golf course can be found just 10km away.

Catering is available at the chateau by local catering companies (traiteurs) - typically this will cost from 30 euros per person for a 4-course meal. Alternatively it is possible to hire a cook from the local village/town who can do any cooking that you wish during your stay – they are also usually happy to buy the food and clear up afterwards. Costs are typically between 10 and 15 euros per hour. Maid service is also available for between 10 and 15 euros per hour.
