Description from the owner

Les Cardayres, is an ancient stone farmhouse with its own large swimming pool (towels provided), and newly resurfaced tennis court, table tennis, and table football tables.

Set within an organic farm in beautiful peaceful Gascon countryside, surrounded by wild flower meadows, it is about 2 miles from the village of Solomiac and about 45 minutes drive west of Toulouse airport.

The property sleeps 10 people comfortably in 7 separate bedrooms, some with en suite bathrooms, some sharing facilities. Additional children can be accommodated on request. It would work well for two families holidaying together.

      idyllic, peaceful and relaxing holiday

Left on 09/24/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Les Cardayres is a beautiful farmhouse surrounded by the most wonderful countryside in view of three lakes and sunflower fields. There is even a family of peacocks walking round the grounds! The house is a lovely balance of being beautifully and sympathetically decorated and very well planned and extremely comfortable and was very spacious. We enjoyed the wine service provided. The location was absolutely stunning and we explored some of the surrounding area but the house and amenities were so lovely that our family were happy with local walks and enjoying the great swimming pool, tennis court and kayaking and swimming in the lakes.

The perfect location to unwind with family and friends.

Left on 09/23/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Set in beautiful surrounding countryside this spacious, homely farmhouse, positioned on the edge of a stunning organic estate was really well equipped and made the perfect luxury self-contained holiday retreat.

If you fancied stretching your legs, as we did on a couple of occasions, then a stroll down past the lakes was perfect. Kayaking on the third larger lake was great fun and did add quite a different dimension.

This is a house that you can lounge around and not feel guilty. Perhaps the various well specced sports facilities were the reason. There was a decent sized pool, great for lengths and deep enough to dive (or flop) off the diving board and a super tennis court for some early morning or early evening action.

We (family of four) stayed with friends (also of four) and really found very little excuse to leave the house other than to replenish the food and wine! It was all so wonderfully simple.

We don't often feel like we have had a holiday after just one week, but this summer's stay at Les Cardayres was one of the most relaxing in a very long time.

In no particular order; beds great, pool great, kitchen great, tennis court great, BBQ great, location great, drinks under the stars great!

A fantastic place to hang out with the family..

Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We absolutely loved it. We went to to Les Cardayres with our 4 young girls and extended family. The setting is magnificent, rolling hills and fields of sunflowers.

We loved spending relaxing mornings watching while the girls jumped in and out of the lovely pool-then we would would sit under the poolside verandah for long lunches. There is a great tennis court right next to the pool and when the weather wasn't so great, or just to get out of the midday sun, there is a big barn with table tennis and table football which was brilliant for the children and grown ups alike!

We were never bored, the house is situated in the most magnificent grounds with stunning lakes and walks. Kayaking, boating and swimming in the lake was a definite highlight of the holiday for all the children. When we wanted a day out we found some really good markets to buy great local produce (tomatoes and greengages to die for!) and we found some great local restaurants which are child friendly.

The house itself is clean, spacious and comfortable, with everything you could need. A big dining room for indoor eating, separate sitting room/playroom for the children with a DVD player, 2 dishwashers, machine machine and tumbledryer...All in all we had a great holiday and loved it. We will be back for more!

      Fantastic family holiday

Left on 09/19/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We are a family of 4 (2 children) and had a fantastic summer holiday at Les Cardayres. The property is just as good as the photos suggest, charming, nicely furnished and very comfortable. It is in a quiet, idyllic location. There are numerous towns and villages to visit within a 30-40 minute drive (many only 10-15 minutes away) so no shortage of day trips. Solomiac is a short drive or cycle from the property and has a small bakery that makes delicious croissants, pain au chocolat and baguettes for breakfast. The property is on a large estate and there are beautiful walks and kayaking on the lake at dusk is a particular highlight. The roads in the area are perfect for cycling but it is pretty hilly so not really for children. The swimming pool and tennis court are both excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to go back. We drove from the UK and found it a very easy, pleasant drive stopping off in Tours and Rouen to extend the holiday.

      Perfect idyll

Left on 09/19/2012 for a stay in August 2012

As soon as we arrived we felt totally at ease. The house had the prefect combination of luxury and homeliness. It is fantastically equipped, superb kitchen, 2 dishwashers (which was god send, great pool, very good quality tennis court. We hardly had enough time for the table tennis, babyfoot and the lakes. It is in a beautiful secluded spot but the town of Solomiac is a 5 minute drive and has a good boulangerie and little market. We would wake up to the estate's peacocks wandering around outside. Toffee the dog would pop in for a stroke which added to the homely feel. There's loads in the area to explore but we only left to go shopping and for the odd meal out. On the second day we were already planning our return. Bliss.

      A week in Les Cardayres

Left on 09/12/2012 for a stay in August 2012

I spent a week with family and friends at Les Cardayres and we had a wonderful time.

The surroundings are very beautiful - fields of sunflowers and meadows full of an array of butterflies and if you are lucky you can see peacocks in the woods nearby.

The amenities were fantastic, a pool large enough to swim lengths ( towels provided), a tennis court (rackets provided) table tennis and an amazing lake where you can swim in the warm water and Kayack.

The house is a typical old french farm house and had all the amenities we could want, including plenty of hot water and space to eat both inside and out. The beds were comfortable and everything was faultlessly clean and tidy.

We are keen foodies and we found a couple of great markets selling great local produce - delicious local melons and fantastic tomatoes. We ate out a couple of times including a good family run restaurant in Solomiac which was conveniently just down the road.
i think the best thing about it was the natural beauty of the surroundings and the fact that you could do absolutely nothing and lie by the pool or be more active should you choose to.

There is also a barn with a
table tennis table and football table for the kids which they thought was great and kept them very entertained.
The lake was beautiful and enabled you to try kiaking.
When you first arrive the kids just don't know what to do first

Wow, a fantastic house and facilities that made our holiday.

Left on 09/07/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Right from the moment we were greeted and shown around the house and grounds we knew we would have a wonderful time. The house is immaculate and everything has been thought out to make life as easy and stress free as possible.
We visited with two children and our friends who have three children and there was plenty of space for even more people, all the children were so excited on the afternoon of our arrival that they tried to swim, play tennis, table tennis and also go kayaking on the lake all in a few hours, this was repeated throughout the week whilst we relaxed by the pool.
The pool area with shaded terrace is ideal for outdoor dining and the tennis court is in great condition.
The surrounding area is rural but you are also not far from various villages with excellent restaurants and local markets, a car is essential.
We are already looking forward to another holiday at Les Cardayres in the not to distant future.
