Description from the owner
Los Molinos is a spacious, airy one bedroom apartment ideal for couples.
It benefits from a lovely position on a pretty pueblo (nearest translation = village) which is terraced into the mountainside high above the sweeping coastline of the Cost Del Sol: there are wonderful views everywhere.
This peaceful, attractive pueblo is terraced into the contours of the mountainside and is in keeping with the old Spanish style of narrow walkways and staircases.
Entering the pueblo from the main road is like discovering a different world. It is a select residential area, adorned with fountains and flowers complimenting the sandy colou...Read more

ColneLos Molinos Holiday
Left on 03/18/2013 for a stay in November 2012
This was our second stay at Los Molinos and we found it just as enjoyable as the first. The accommodation is clean, very well appointed with Caths usual attention to detail. The apartment's position in Mijas is ideal with a small supermarket five minutes walk away.
We have now visited out of season(Oct.& Nov)and found everything open and available with pleasant temperatures around 22-24 degrees.
We found Los Molinos a wonderful retreat after a long day out and would highly recommend a visit to enjoy all Cath and Ian offer as holiday accommodation.Response from MRS C L G MILLS - 03/19/2013

Hi there you two,
Thanks for such a good review.
Those nominally off-season times can be wonderfully warm and pleasant - we've experienced 30 degrees C in November and we even had around 28 one end Feb/Mar but that's more unusual.
I know you have other plans for this year but whenever you're ready to re-visit Los Molinos, I'm sure we'll find a space for you.

LevenRelaxing week at Los Molinos!
Left on 01/23/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We had a really nice relaxing week (January 2013) staying at Los Molinos, Mijas Peublo. The apartment is really lovely, well equipped, and just perfect if you just want to chill out for a week. Los Molinos is situated in a small purpose-built complex of similar properties, with quaint little alleyways running between them. There's a nice wee pool (shared with the other properties) just a few yards away up a flight of steps. The centre of Mijas Pueblo is an easy ten minute walk away, and there's also a few small restaurants and cafes in the immediate vicinity of Los Molinos that serve up very nice food. We hope to stay at Los Molinos again some time in the future!

Hi Carol,
I was so sorry to hear that you got caught in September 2012's unique rain storms. I was grateful to you for letting me know that Los Molinos stayed snug and dry - poor citizens of Malaga by contrast, washed out of their homes. The benefit of Mijas is that it's atop a mountain, and in addition, Los Molinos is high + dry within our own pueblo.
It was very sensible of you to make use of Picasso Museum in Malaga - made an unusual holiday perhaps but a very interesting and cultural one and at least you got sun for your first 3 days.
Thanks for your compact review, hopefully you'll come back sometime and be luckier with the weather.

Left on 09/14/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Stayed at Los Molinos for 6 nights and we couldn't have been happier with the place. The apartment is lovely, set in the pretty Nuevo Pueblo complex with its lovely courtyards.
The complex has a pool which is just up some steps from the apartment. During our stay the pool was often quiet or not used at all, but when it was used, everyone was very friendly. Everyone around Nuevo Pueblo was also very friendly and chatty.
Cath had provided many little things to make our stay easier, including lots of towels, tea/coffee, washing up liquid and cloths and liquid for the washing machine. these little thoughtful items were very gratefully received and are the type of things most villas/apartments don't provide.
The village is lovely, with picturesque streets, really nice shops and wonderful restaurants.
I couldn't recomment Mijas Pueblo and Los Molinos highly enough.Response from MRS C L G MILLS - 10/19/2012

Hi there,
Thanks for this. I'm very pleased to hear you had such a good time at Los Molinos and also that you found the pueblo and whole area so suited to your tastes.
Pity it could only be for 6 nights - next time stay longer - you'd both be very welcome indeed.

Left on 09/07/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This was our second visit to Los Molinos and it was lovely to return. The apartment is extremely comfortable and well equipped in a perfect location close to bars, restaurants, bus stop and supermarket. As our first visit was in the colder months it was great to be in Mijas in august and make good use of the swimming pool and outdoor areas. All are immaculately maintained and peaceful and Los Molinos provides the cushions and chairs required to enjoy the sun.
Lovely to wake up in the four poster bed and hear the fountain gurgling and the horses clip clopping past, knowing that a day of sun, tapas and rioja awaits!
We would not hesitate to recommend Los Molinos and definitely will be returning.Response from MRS C L G MILLS - 09/18/2012

Hi Lindsey,
Thanks for this glowing review of our apartment!
When you picked out the sounds of the fountain and the clip-clop of the horses, I felt myself there! Those are things I love about it too.
It will be a great pleasure to welcome you back asap!

LondonComforatble and well located
Left on 08/26/2012 for a stay in August 2012
It was very easy to make this relatively late booking with Cath, who was very helpful and welcoming.
The accomodation is very pleasant and comfortable. It is well equipped with all the amenities you could possibly need for your stay. The apartment is decorated with quite heavy dark wood furniture, which is comfortable, but perhaps a little oppressive. It is well located in the Pueblo, close to restaurants and within easy walking distance of the centre, without being to close to the noise and bustle. We stayed in august, when the pool was full of rowdy children, so we didn't use it, but it is very easy to get to the beach.
It is located on the edge of a development and is surrounded by other appartments and overlooks the road into the village. This posed no problems but considering the spectacular location of Mijas Pueblo, I was a little disappointed that there really isn't a view from the apartment and, although it has full length french doors throughout the apartment, it has no balcony.Response from MRS C L G MILLS - 08/30/2012
Owner
Hi Alistair,
Thanks for the review, positive comments and intention to recommend.
Los Molinos is traditionally furnished in Spanish style and many people choose it for that reason.
When we stay at the apartment, we like to open the french doors wide and "let the outside inside". The 5 Juliette balconies we have are narrow and we do have the lovely terrace by the fountain just below us.
In our description, we try to give as accurate an impression of what we have to offer as we possibly can and what better way than to show as many images as possible? After all - a picture speaks a thousand words!

Left on 07/30/2012 for a stay in July 2012
we had 11 nights in this apartment early July 2012.It is well equipped and very comfortable - the bedroom aircon (small extra charge) was a necessity. The terraced complex of apartments is very nice with a good pool. Our only slight disappointment was that the external area with table/chairs was down a steep flight of stairs not very suitable for taking snacks/meals/drinks down to.

Left on 07/16/2012 for a stay in June 2012
My partner and I stayed for two weeks in June 2012. We found the owner very easy to deal with and extremely helpful in the information she provided on the apartment and its locality. The apartment was clean and tidy on our arrival. We found everything we needed, including plenty of towels and the kitchen was well stocked. The bedroom has reasonably priced air conditioning, which proved very useful in Mijas heat. The tv had lots of familiar channels, including northern Irish tv so we were able to keep up to date with events at home. There is a communal pool, which is very close to the apartment and provides plenty of sun loungers and shower facitilities. On many occasions, we had the pool to ourselves. The apartment complex is extremely picturesque, with white washed walls, fountains and colourful flowers. The complex is situated at the entrance to Mijas from fuengiorla. It is only a short walk to shops and restaurants. The main supermarket is only 5 minutes walk away and Mijas' main hotel is across the street. We were able to book excursions there and use the internet. There are a number of bus stops on the street straight outside the apartment. The best thing about the apartment are its surroundings, which are really beautiful. The apartment itself is a home from home. I would definitely recommend the apartment to friends and family.

Would highly recommed both Los Molinos and Mijas - have never felt so comfortable on holiday, the apartment is exactly as described and we felt at home immediately. The apartment is clean, spacious, light and attractive. Los Molinos contains everything you could possibly need and Mijas village is pretty and friendly with great bars and restaurants. Had a couple of excellent meals at the Fiesta restaurant just under the apartment and although the supermarket was close and Las Molinos'kitchen contains everything you need, the tapas/wine was so good that we rarely stayed in! Would not hesitate to recommed.

Thanks very much for such a nice review. Feedback like this is very useful for future guests because they can feel confident in going ahead with renting from us. (Vis a vis "exactly as described" - I could never see any point in exaggerating or fabricating as it would only reslut in negative feedback when the truth became apparent).
We have done a lot to improve Los Molinos recently and I find it more comfortable and user-friendly. Nice that this is being picked up by guests like yourselves too.
We hope to hear from you again when you're ready for another visit.

Bedfordshire, UKMade my Week Very Comfortable
Left on 02/10/2012 for a stay in January 2012
I travelled to Mijas in January 2012, for a week of printmaking at Cascada Studio - an artist's studio in the village.
I wanted to stay in an apartment, so I had a base for the week and Los Molinos was one of those recommended to me.
It was a very comfortable and pleasant apartment, with a well-equipped, clean and tidy kitchen. There was plenty of space for just one person - and it would be equally comfortable for two. It is nicely decorated, with good heating and lighting.
The village is safe for those who are out at night and the main street is well lit, so you can find your way home. There is a bar/cafe very nearby and plenty more further up in the village, a short walk away. The apartment is also handy for the supermarket. Should you be there at a more summery time of year, there is also a swimming pool - however, although it was warm for January, I didn't quite fancy a dip!
Well worth a visit - staying at Los Molinos definitely made my week's work more enjoyable and I was very comfortable.

Thanks Liz,
Thanks for the nice comments on our apartment - as you know it's still in a process of improvements, in particular to the kitchen.
I'm glad I could offer it to you as a safe place to stay for a lady on her own - very important, especially for those who might be a little nervous.
I do hope you come out again in October as suggested, if so I look forward to hearing from you again.

Left on 12/09/2011 for a stay in November 2011
We expected great holiday accommodation, knowing Cath and Ian but what we got was a wonderful five star apartment with everything you could possibly need for a holiday. With personal items, photos etc,it gave a feeling of home from home and not the spartan air usually offered in "holiday apartments"
There was an abundance of linen, towels etc and Cath's signature feminine touches.
The little town of Mijas is delightful with the centre only a ten minute stroll from the apartment.Very helpful staff at the Tourist Office near the Town Hall gave great advice on transport facilities and access to the surrounding area.
We stayed during the first two weeks in November when the temperature was a very comfortable 22-24 degrees.
We completely fell in love with Los Molinos and Mijas and cannot wait for our next, longer, visit in 2012.Response from MRS C L G MILLS - 12/10/2011

Hi Shirley & Michael,
What a wondeful testimony! Thanks for taking the time to write this for us. (To readers, just to confirm that this delightful couple, who we got to know when they stayed at our English guest house, have indeed already booked Los Molinos again for next November.)
We're planning to do a bit of re-furbing of the kitchen this year so it should have a fresher, more modern look when you go but, don't worry, we'll always have those little touches - I couldn't help myself.
Take care both,

Mijas is an ideal base for exploring the inland areas of the Costa del Sol and Mijas is just big enough to have everything you need and just small enough to be friendly. Although near the road, traffic was minimal and the apartment was cosy and a haven to come back to after a hectic day travelling around the mountains. Many of the restaurants in the area are aimed at the Brits way of eating but we found a couple that were primarily Spanish and very friendly indeed. On one occasion we were joining in with cheering Miss Malaga on with the restaurant staff in the Miss Spain contest as Miss Malaga was from Mijas. A lovely stay.

my husband and i stayed at los molinos with our 9 week old baby and 2 year old son. the apartment was in a very safe and secure part of the town within a gated community as such. it had everything and much more than we expected such as the use of towels, kitchen condiments, washing machine etc etc etc. the list of the little things that we take for granted at home and dont want to buy on holidays but was supplied at the apartment is endless and made our lives so much easier. our views from the balconies was fabulous overlooking the lovely clean streets and/or terraced areas with beautiful fountains. our little boy spent any time we were in the apartment looking at the world going by especially the horses and carriages. the restaurants nearby were lovely especially the recommended fiesta where we ate 3 times. only slightly down side was the pool wasnt suitable for our non swimming toddler as it was too deep for him but as we wanted to go to the beach anyway it didnt effect us at all. the location was excellent as we had family staying in mijas golf for a wedding and it was only 20 minutes by car. overall we got a lot more than we paid for or expected. would definitely return...

It is furnished beautifully in typical Spanish style in a characteristic old spanish Pueblo ,with narrow streets and balconies to every room and flowers climbing up the walls. It has every thing you need for a peaceful holiday. This was our first time visiting Spain and our experience at Los Molinos made the trip well worth it. Los Molinos is a wonderful and spacious apt. decorated with a Spanish flavor. The apt. is well equipped with all of your immediate needs. It is located within the beautiful landscape of Mijas Pueblo, which is a gorgeous and quant village built high in the mountain terrain of the andalusia region with wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea. The apt. is located close to amenities like shopping boutiques, restaurants and even a supermarket. These facilities all within walking distance including public transportation, if needed.
Mijas Pueblo is absolutely a lovely village with narrow walkways, spanish archectiture with plenty of restaurants and cafes. There is plently to see and do in Mijas, especially taking evening strolls while exploring this old historic village.
While in Spain for approximately 16 days, we took advantage of day trips to Marbella, Tangier, Granada and we often took the local bus (15 minutes from Mijas) to Fuengirola to walk along the beach.

The whole experience was wonderful. Los molinos is very accessible. We had a rental car, but it would be very easy to get to with public transport from Malaga airport as well. There are regular bus services right in front of the pueblo to all the beachside resorts who again connect to further afield. And there is plenty to do in Mijas itself. Every day we discovered another part of the village. There are lovely walks starting from the village exploring the surrounding mountains as well. There are loads of different restaurants and shops, museums etc. The house was charming and well stocked with everything you might need. The swimming pool was also very refreshing at the end of a warm day. I would definitely recommend Los Molinos to anybody, as with this location you can turn it into any kind of holiday you want.

The apartments decor had a really nice Spanish flavour to it,and overlooked a small courtyard with fountain.
All the apartments/houses, are fed by narrow little lanes, that again lead to individual courtyards.
This gives it an old Spanish village feel.
Some steep steps, lead the way up to a really nice pool area, with lovely views over the valley.
A 5min walk takes you to the picturesque Mijas Pueblo village, with a good choice of restaurants.

The apartment is in a private complex of narrow, cobbled streets. It has pretty furnishings, shuttered windows and juliette balconies overlooking a courtyard and fountain. It had a lovely Spanish feel, was very quiet but everything we could need was either in the apartment or only minutes away. The village of Mijas struck the right balance of catering for tourists without being tacky and was just 15 minutes from the coast or equally handy for a drive up into the hills.
