Bad NauheimVery nice apartment for exploring Milano and its surroundings
Left on 09/24/2012 for a stay in August 2012
For a conference, rather than staying at a hotel, we chose to rent an apartment in Milano. It was a very good choice! The apartment is nicely furnished and quiet, we enjoyed having breakfast and dinner while sitting on the terrace. Virginio and Nikki gave us a very nice welcome and were very helpful. Since we actually cooked, we would have liked to have some more basic kitchen equipment (e.g., good kitchen knife, peeler, salad bowl) and a few more plates in case there are left-overs. Since temperatures were very high during our stay, we very much appreciated that both bedrooms have air conditioning.
The location of the aparment is great due to its access to the subway and close location to some nice restaurants. Despite the good access to the subway, however, it takes about 40-45 min to get to the congress center ('fiera milano congressi') due to the rather long intervals between the subway trains. -

Reston, Virginia, USAll It Was advertised To Be, And More
Left on 08/12/2012 for a stay in July 2012
While attending a conference in Milan, I and my family opted to stay at Nikki and Virginio's apartment, rather than at a hotel. This choice led to a pleasant and prudent experience in Milan. The apartment experience was all it was advertised to be, and more. While we chose the apartment for the opportunity to be in a local neighborhood, the cost turned out to be less than if we had stayed at a hotel.
We stayed five days in July when the outside temperature was high. The air conditioning was most welcome when we returned to the apartment. It is near the Romolo station on the Metro. Nearby is a bank with Bancomat and a supermarket. Nikki and Virginio provided an excellent list of neighborhood restaurants and trattorias that were well chosen. I especially remember a meal of risotto Milanese and osso bucco that was truly succulent and reasonably priced (we are from the us). The neighborhood had a night life for the older crowd or for younger people (around the near-by canal).
The apartment was quiet; and had two inquisitive, furry cats that came out to investigate us when we went in or out of the apartment. Neighbors were friendly and said buon giorno when they saw us going in and out. Were we to return to Milan in the future, we would opt to return to this apartment in the blink of an eye.

Atlanta, GeorgiaThe perfect place in Milano!
Left on 07/10/2012 for a stay in June 2012
I found La Dolce Vi.ta on Tripadvisor and I'm so glad I came across this find! Virgnio and his wife Nikoletta were the most gracious hostesses and gave us the warmest and friendliest welcome. What a great way to start an Italian holiday! They both took the time to show the apartment and it's features as well as any questions I had.
The apartment itself is lovely. It's actually quite spacious and modern for a European apartment home. There is plenty of space to get situated and organize your belongings. Everything such as the appliances, wifi, etc worked perfectly. The courtyard is lovely to enjynyour morning coffee or an evening glass of wine :-)
The neighborhood is great with all the conveniences such as bakery, wine shop, supermarket all being within walking distance. There is a tram stop just about a block away and the Porta Nuova train station is also just minutes by foot. Nighttime in Navigli is lively literally every night of the week. The entire strip is lined with cafes, bars, restaurants that are filled with people. There's also a really good Spritz place called "I Love Spritz" just up the street on the main strip.
We truly loved this place and would definitely make this home again next time we're in Milano. -

New York CityTrue Italian hospitality with class and style

If it weren't for the Internet I'd have never found such attractive and reasonably priced accommodations in Milan. The apartment is modern and fully outfitted with the comforts of home, including wifi that is sometimes unavailable (without extra fees) in hotels. The owner is a true gentleman. He was prompt in responding to all of my pre arrival communications and to our delight waited for us at the metro station when we arrived. He did not simply give us the keys and abandon us to chance. He took the time to familiarize us with the workings of all the appliances (including a safe!) and provided us with a list of restaurants in the area. He also gave us phone numbers to reach him if we had any questions or problems.
The apartment, true to its description, has two full bedrooms with plenty of comfortable storage; two beautifully outfitted bathrooms; a modern kitchen with all necessary appliances; a dining area and a huge terrace that would be an enormous asset in warm weather. (Unfortunately for us, the weather was cold and rainy so we could not use it.) The dining area has a pull out sofa, that can sleep another person.
The Navigli area is a bit distant from the center though tram transportation is quite convenient and brings you to the historic center (near the Duomo) in about 20-25 minutes. The metro is available too, but we did not use it other than on our arrival from Milano Centrale.
If you want to vacation in Milan, or conduct business and are traveling with a party of more than two people, renting Virginio's apartment is definitely the way to go. You will save a bundle, live in comfort and meet a most delightful host. -

We (two couples) stayed at La Dolce Vi.ta. Sui Navigli over the New Years holiday and I can't say enough about what a marvelous experience it was. Virginio and Nikoletta are charming and greeted us warmly. Being in the Navigli district was magical, especially on New Years eve being able to see fireworks over the canal. We cooked a New Year's eve meal in the well appointed kitchen. It is a wonderful place to stay when you want to experience a very interesting and eclectic neighborhood as well as feeling very much right at home. We can't wait to stay there again, maybe in the summer to enjoy the adorable courtyard outside. The building is very quiet and everything you need is within walking distance. I'll never forget the delicious green olives we bought at the fruit and vegetable store by the canal! Thank you Virginio and Nikoletta, we made memories in your place that we will never ever forget. A very special time for us. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

PennsylvaniaAffordable Comfort in Milan, Navigli District
Left on 11/01/2011 for a stay in October 2011
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights this October. We have in the past stayed in the Navigli area of Milan which is filled with lots of restaurants and shops and overlooks the canals. We like it there and were very happy to find VI. Ta. Sul Navigli also known as Dolce Vita Sul Navigli.
The owner, Virginio Tagliabue, was very helpful and pleasant from the first contact. He answered all of my questions promptly and gave very exact information - including info on Tram stops, market locations, restaurant recommendations.
The apartment consists of two double bedrooms and two baths. One bath has the most incredible spacious, modern shower with wonderful water pressure - the bath itself had great lighting. The other bath was beautifully fitted with large, soaking tub and hand held shower - it was also very well lighted and included a decorative chandelier.
For some reason we could not get the heated towel racks to go on but it may have been the first time that was needed for the season and there might have been a step we were missing. If you visit in late October or after they would be an added bonus.
An abundance of soft, fluffy bath towels were provided for us - which is not always the case when traveling in Italy and Virginio made sure we knew where to find additional tea towels as well.
There is a terrific modern kitchen with convection oven, refrigerator, dish washer, gas stove top and oven - lots of well conceived cabinetry too. Plates, cups, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, knives - all there. Even some simple staples like sugar, salt, espresso . . .
One of the really great bonuses of this apartment is the large private terrace with beautiful plantings and a table for four. It was nice to have a late afternoon glass of wine outside. There is an additional small terrace just off the kitchen where we hung out our laundry to dry in the early part of the day - there is a clothes washing machine which also came in quite handy.
There is no real living room in this apartment which I knew prior to booking but there is a dining room table and seating for six. There are also doors that lead out to the private terrace from here and when you want privacy you can close the large wooden shutters and/ or the drapery. It's very comfortable.
Wifi is included at no charge and worked perfectly.
Each bedroom is equipped with satellite tv - my husband was thrilled to be able to watch a Giants vs Bills football game on Sunday evening! Lots of channels and while there is no radio or cd player in the apartment the tv has several music channels which we really liked.
Beautiful wood floors throughout the apartment .
Independent heating.
Very quiet for sleeping.
The apartment is literally a three minute walk to the Tram/ Bus stop that got us all over the city. We bought the 3 day pass and were able to use it for buses and metro.
Excellent restaurants in the very near area - Via Lombardini - we had terrific food Italian and Indian - good prices too.
About a 15 minute max walk to Ripa Porta Ticinese area with more restaurants and lots of popular "Happy Hour" specials.
Esselunga supermarket was less than a 10 minute walk away.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat and in fact hopefully the apartment will be available for us next year again.
Photos are on the Dolce VI. Ta. sites - check them out - the apartment is better in person! -
