Hale Kai means "Home by the Sea". You will learn the true meaning of "Oceanfront" as you step outside this new (non-smoking) home 20' from the Sea! Adventurers will love exploring the coastline with the Kayaks that come with the house or enjoy snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking, fishing, surfing or swimming right outside your door. Less adventurous souls may choose to just relax and enjoy a glass of wine and a good book while sunbathing on their pri...vate white sand around the house under the Coconut Palms. You will love lounging on the seaside lanai, entertained by the locals...spinner dolphins, sea turtles and humpback whales.

Hale Kai of Miloli'i is a very serene, relaxing and romantic setting with stunning sunsets. It is located half way between Kona and Hawaii Volcanos National Park. Excursions to Kona or Hilo for shopping or the volcano to view the lava flow are easily done in a day.

The Plantation-Style home has 3000 square feet of breathtaking views from any part of the house and is nestled on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by blue water on almost three sides, white sand and some of the most pristine coral reefs in all of the islands. Three bedrooms, a library with futon and two and a half baths will accommodate from one to eight guests. The house features over 1200 square feet of shaded outdoor living space with a wrap around tiled lanai overlooking the tropical fish, dolphins, turtles and whales below. Sleep inside or outside while being lulled to sleep by the sounds of the sea and watching the moon set over the Pacific.

Hale Kai is located adjacent to Makahiki Point, or Point of Peace, where Hawaiians would come annually to declare a time of peace and that all fighting should cease. The point is riddled with ancient sea caves to explore and is also a fantastic fishing spot. Watching the whales or even the sunset from the point can make for lifelong memories.

Hale Kai is an hour from the sirens, traffic and stress of the city. Miloli'i is known throughout the islands for it's deep sea fishing and clear waters. Hale Kai offers some of the most undeveloped stretches of coastline on the Big Island, secret beaches to explore and plenty of sunshine to enjoy. Seasonal whale watching is spectacular. World class snorkling, scuba diving and sea kayaking is right outside your door. You may also get the chance to swim with the local sea turtles and spinner dolphins...a real treat in itself!

32 miles South of Kona on the Mamalahoa Highway near the Hawaiian fishing village of Miloli'i sits a copper roofed house on Makehiki Point. Driving to the very Southern end of Kai Ave is the last house for a long wilderness oceanfront coast. Great hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, diving and beach combing await you. You'll know when you arrive because you will be the only ones on the beach!

  We had such a relaxing and wonderful time. It was like home away from home. You thought of everything. The wonderful windows that allowed the breeze, the little sand area, the use of snorkels,kayaks (ropes for the hook up) and the coolers. The kitchen was so clean and well stocked. The tips and trick around the area. Our family and our good friends the Milton's had the most wonderful time exploring the South Coast and relaxing at your beautiful place. Thanks again!

  this was our second stay at Hale Kai ...we loved seeing the whales from the lanai and going to sleep to the sound of the ocean ...a highlight was paddling the kayaks to Honomolino bay and having an incredible afternoon swimming with dolphins ...the house is beautiful , we felt very well taken care of! ...
