Stay in Hamajima's Previous Unit
Left on 12/02/2012 for a stay in November 2012
When we rented J. Hamajima's apartment in akasaka/Roppongi area of Tokyo, the unit had actually been sold and we were her last renters at this location. This apartment was essentially as advertised. Working with Mink (her nickname) was easy and pleasant. Her accommodations were as advertised; her directions and arrangements for us were spot on. Mink made it a point to meet and chat with us during our three week stay.
Therefore, I cannot reflect on the quality of the current apartment, but can recommend working with Mink on accommodation in Tokyo. We enjoyed the experience of living in a pleasant and convenient residential/business section of the city. Being near Midtown was a bonus.Response from Jan H. - 12/11/2012

Thank you Rae. I've already posted a new apartment to replace the one that was sold.

SydneyPerfect location in peaceful surrounds - close to everything!
Left on 05/21/2012 for a stay in May 2012
My husband and I stayed here for just over a week on our honeymoon in Tokyo. The first thing I'd say is that Mink, the property owner was incredibly helpful and personable right from the start. It was super easy to find the place, even though it's off the main streets of akasaka. Instructions on finding and accessing the apartment were sent via email, including pictures and tips and where to go locally for sight seeing and food. The place was clean and although small (which is normal) we didn't ever feel cramped, there's space and excellent facilities to cook, sit down and eat, watch TV, chill on the extremely comfy bed or watch the world pass by from the balcony. Perfect for a couple, any more than two people I think you'd be in each others pockets a bit, however there's is fold out beds to sleep four. The whole time we were there we rarely saw any fellow Gaijin and it was nice to have the feeling of being a local. Everything we needed was nearby and we spent the first day just walking around and checking out the local area which has great bars, parks, restaurants for any budget and incredible 24 hour 7-11 and other great food stores. Bar Flow downstairs is a must to visit. Friendly staff and patrons and not to mention an impressive selection of Japanese whiskey. Roppongi and Tokyo midtown are also within walking distance and you can get to anywhere else easily from the train. In short a great spot, quite but close to the action. plenty of privacy, a very accommodating and lovely host (we changed dates on Mink a few times but she went out of her way to be flexible), a clean and charming apartment to come home to at the end of the day in probably the best spot in Tokyo. Highly recommended and excellent value.

BangkokGood place to stay

This apartment is very near the station. It's very convenient to travel around Tokyo. The room itself is clean and quite large (compared to the room at the hotel that I used to stay). One important thing, it's value-for-money.

60827Loved the location but apartment was small
Left on 04/02/2012 for a stay in March 2012
I loved where this apt is - just a few minutes away from Roppongi and tokyo midtown. Close to Nogizaka station on the Chioda line. And just a little bit further - there is the Oedo line. It was very convenient to get around town. Quiet neighborhood and very nice owner. The apartment is advertised as sleeps 6. And while there are 6 sleeping areas (if you include the futons), it would be incredibly uncomfortable to sleep 6. It was kind of uncomfortable to sleep 3. I travelled with my husband and my 8 year old son and it was sort of tight. Plus, there are just too many things crammed into this apartment - and no drawer space. It was very hard to get around to the "bedroom" because there are wooden shelves that blocks the walkway. It's really a studio with a sliding door so there really isn't any privacy. For us it was fine - it's our 4th time in Tokyo and it wasn't a long stay but I wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer. No couch in this apt - so it's either one of the 2 dining chairs or the bed and since there were 3 of us, one was always sitting or lying on the bed.
I would recommend this apartment only to a couple or maybe a couple with a small child. -

USAvery central location
Left on 03/25/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Very central location just 5 minutes to Tokyo Midtown. Oedo and Chiyoda subway lines are just 5-10 minutes away. The apartment was well furnished but small. Best for 2 people - or a couple with a small child. Wish there was a couch in the apartment. Otherwise, I loved the location and it was very quiet.
