Stunning, peaceful and family friendly riverside retreat
I keep coming back to this magical place and it always makes me happy to be here - instant relaxation. The uninterrupted views are always changing with the tides in river and beach, and the many moods of the south coast. It's relaxed luxury - with the character and comfort of a family retreat -makes it so easy to be here. The decor is charming and unpretentious, beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is very well equipped. We've had small grandchildren here today and the safe river beach and playground are perfect. There's also great walking - into Kiama or around the surrounding bushland. A bonus is that it now has fast wifi connection, which makes it perfect.
A clean spacious residnece with wonderful views of the river and
Easy to book and found it with no trouble. Arrived late at night and we all went to bed. The beds were very comfortable. The kids awoke us at daybreak with squeals of delight at the close river and ocean and we all went for a swim. The kitchen was great and we had all our meals on the veranda overlooking the river and ocean. It was a very short walk to the river. It was a good location to launch many trips to nearby spots of interest such as the Blow Hole, Minnamera Rainforest, Kangaroo Valley. Some friends cames to stay with us and there was plenty of room. All of us thoroughly enjoyed staying here. It was a wonderful spot to stay and enjoy while we explored the many attractions close by.
Breathtaking views from spacious well-appointed house.
The view from the street did not prepare me for the stunning panorama of river and ocean from the very spacious living area that includes a large deck, all looking to the East. I found that the house had about everything you would want for a few days or even weeks of relaxation for a family or a couple or just me...well-equipped kitchen, large flat-screen TV, more books than you could read in a year and for a chilly day or night, a very efficient heating system I could turn on with just pressing a button.
I liked the location very much, not only a few steps down to the river and a short swim to the beach but also the Kiama Golf course, a public course where I played 18 holes for just $25. I found the walking track to the South that has some spectacular views from the columnar basalt headlands and winds to Kiama, great for a morning sroll.
All in all, I cannot think of an nicer place to spend a weekend...highly recommended!
