Wonderful home, pictures don't show how nice the home is. Very spacious, and clean!! The view is absolutely amazing. My friends (24 to be exact) and I brought in the New Year in this very beautiful home! Couldn't find a better home anywhere in Michigan. The owners are very friendly and we had no problem getting in contact with them while booking the trip and while staying at the home. The rooms are very spacious with full bunk beds that easily fit 2 people to a bed. The master bedroom has an amazing bathroom and a walk-in closet, and the sleep number bed is definitely a plus:) Thank you for the lovely stay once again!!

This lodge is absolutly beautiful. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. 10 women in my family enjoyed a beautiful fall weekend here. The view from every window is stunning. The interior is warm and inviting with plenty of room to spread out. The attention to detail in the decor was amazing. The fire pit was one of our favorite spots to gather in the chilly evening after a fabulous meal made in the beautiful kitchen. Absolutly nothing was missing except for a few wine glasses that Sandy so graciously brought us lickity split. Thank you Sandy and Dale for a memorable week-end.

Our family (approx 20 family members) stayed together at the Lodge. It was breathtaking - plenty of space for all of us to sleep, watch TV, play games, etc. Very cozy and warm! The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need, including a crock pot. Plenty of space to sit and eat together (inside and outside). Firepit was awesome & the view was remarkable! The owners, Dale & Sandy were just wonderful - - the minute we called for trash pick-up, etc., they were there trying to meet our every need. Very nice people. The kids loved Mio for the dirt biking & rafting. They also had fun just being together for 4 nights with their cousins - - lots of memories to last a lifetime! Our Mother, who is 84, got to enjoy precious time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We've recommended this place to our family and friends - - the air conditioning sure did come in handy as well during these hot summer months.

Every year my mom, sister and I take turns planning a mystery weekend. I chose The auSable View Lodge this year. We don't think we will be able to top that experience. The lodge was absolutely beautiful as well as the view. Hosts were wonderful, also.

I planned a trip to the auSable View Lodge for a pretty large group of friends for New Years' weekend. Some of us arrived early, and we were like little kids running into every room, checking everything out. As people showed up, I loved seeing their faces while they looked around, they were so surprised by how nice it was. I didn't have a single complaint, we enjoyed our stay so much. The lodge was really simple to plan for, and we made ourselves right at home. It was definitely the perfect way to bring in the new year. Thanks Dale and Sandy!

My group absolutely loved the lodge. There were lots of amenities including king size beds, cable, wifi and an overall very homely environment. Our group had the opportunity to spend quality time together and experience the beautiful view. Also the cabin was very close to downtown Mio as well.

AuSable View Lodge is great for a getaway for groups or individuals who want a comfortable, high quality place to stay that provides excellent service and a spectacular view. Cannot say enough about this rental and how well it could accommodate family reunions, gatherings of friends, working retreats, writers weekends, or those simply interested in relaxing by a fire, stargazing, or watching the sun both rise and set.

I spent two fabulous days/nights with 9 friends at the auSable View Lodge for a 50th birthday celebration. When we arrived, the spectacular view greeted us. The fall colors stretched as far as the eyes could see. The lodge's woodwork, decks and fire pit add to the exterior glamour.
Inside, nothing short of awe was our unanimous reaction. The layout was open and inviting. Every room was beautifully and tastefully decorated. Even as a true animal lover, I was not at all bothered by the various mounted creatures throughout the lodge.
Our group had planned to make every meal in the lodge. The open kitchen, fully stocked with virtually every necessary cooking utensil (including a dishwasher), made it nice to create meals while also joining in conversations taking place in the dining/living rooms.
The attention to decorating details and the quality of the furnishings makes it obvious the owners want nothing but the best for their customers. The beds are very comfortable, and I loved the soft bath towels (they smelled great, too).
As an avid outdoorswoman, the trails surrounding the lodge made for a very fun(and challenging) way to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. I can imagine how beautiful it must be in the winter.
I am, without a doubt, planning a return trip with my boyfriend and our kids. I'm also planning an annual girls weekend to go canoeing on the auSable, and this will be the perfect place for us.
I would like to thank Dale and Sandy Handrich for making my dear friend's 50th birthday celebration one we will always remember. I look forward to seeing you, again, soon!

Literally within 5 minutes of arriving, on was on the phone with my boyfriend planning my next trip back. Just a stunning home with a stunning view. Every amenity we could have wanted was there. We had such a lovely time that I can't wait to go back in the spring with a canoe. I can't rave enough!

I guess the title says it all. I expected a lodge up north and got what felt like a chic villa. The view from every window was astonishing, the whole place was cleaner than any hotel I have ever been in, every time we turned around we noticed some new little touch like animals carved into the front door, the beds were comfortable, in fact all the furniture was comfortable, the fireplace was beautiful, the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed including a dishwasher, the sinks were cool (I want them in my house) and like the toilets worked as if we were in the suburbs instead of the woods (not sure how they did that), and when we needed some noise (you know us cityfolks) the tv was huge. Like I said, "Ahhh."

it is difficult to put into words the quality of our stay at the au Sable View Lodge. Inside and balcony views are breathtaking, lodge itself was stunning (every decorating and architectural detail were impeccable and very very upscale) - well beyond anyone's expectations. And Sandy/Dale attended to our every need before, during and after our stay. If there can be a better rental experience, I don't know what it would be. We will be back - many many times!!

Left on 07/12/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Our stay at the ausable View Lodge was above and beyond what we expected. From the time we contacted Sandy and Dale for information and reservations, to the moment we left from our weekend stay, they were extremely pleasant, informative, and attentive to our needs.
When arriving to the lodge, the view was so amazing, it literally brought tears to our eyes. There were 24 of us celebrating our parent's 50th wedding anniversary, and what a wonderful treat this was for the entire family. The lodge is so beautiful inside & out, spacious, and very accommodating. It's perfect for larger groups with a cozy intimate feel for smaller. The attention to detail is incredible.
We definitely will be back and would highly recommend to all!
I can just visualize it's beauty in the Michigan winter, with the awesome view, snow falling, fireplace lit...ahhh! -

Thanks for a great stay. We will make the lodge a regular part of our golfing trips. -

The auSable View Lodge is a unique and beautiful facility in a stunning location that literally made us feel like we were on top of the world. We had plenty of room for our party guests and comfortably slept seven families with nearly 20 children. Located atop Mio Mountain, the Lodge affords an amazing view of the area. Using binoculars or a spotting scope provided us with a birds-eye view of local landmarks, and even farmers, miles away, working their fields.
It truly is spectacular and it turned our gathering into a once-in-a-lifetime event.
