The service was excellent, great communication before we arrived, as well as easy checkout. The condo was nice but the furniture was cramped in one of the bedrooms. There was no personnel in the lobby to help with questions. The location was incredible. We loved being able to simply cross the street and be on the beach!

Loved the resort/complex. The room not so much. The dryer rattled loudly everytime you used it. Such an annoyance. The mattresses in the spare bedroom could have been better. The ceramic tile floor was so filthy you had to wear house shoes or socks to keep your feet from looking black. It was disgusting. So much for the cleaning staff. It would have been nice if the place would have had a phone book. I feel like the place offered the bare necessities.

My family stayed in this unit on Memorial Weekend. We arrived late to find the air wasn't working. However it was a cool night and the ceiling fan's worked just fine. After a couple of call Southern Resorts was able to get the air fixed late the next day.
The unit was clean for the most part. I would have to say the be in the master makes a noise when you make any movement. This wakes anyone sleeping if you have to get up. The window's in the bedrooms have no privacy at all. We had to get a blanket to cover them. This needs to be addressed right away.
The dryer makes a lot noise while on. This was just annoying more than anything.
I guess I know now why this unit was the last to rent.
I have always stayed at Majestic Sun. Love the location, and the beach. We still had a great stay and enjoyed the beach.Response from Southern Vacation Rentals - 07/14/2012

Unfortunately, we just are not able to detect when an air conditioner may go out, but we do our best to prevent this from happening during our guests' stay. Everything was great as far as our stay, accomodations and ease of check-in. However, the mattresses in Master Bedroom need to be replaced. They were awful!!! The second BR was great and we loved that it had two double bed and a king, rather than most Twin accomodations we found.

The condo was clean and very convenient to the beach. Loved that. The only issues were with the realty staff with parking questions. We found out where to park on our own. Also it was a little noisy with neighbors so close. Very friendly environment and courteous people. Overall it was a good experience. The view was wonderful!

Check in was a breeze with the key pad. The location was great. The view was beautiful. The condo had a dinner table that was broken. The glass top was perched precariously on broken legs. I called immediately on Saturday night to report the damage as I did not want the heavy glass falling on anyone and hurting them. Southern Vacations said they would have someone there to look at it the next day. It was not till Monday afternoon that someone came, took the table and left. We never had a table the four days we were there. The living room area had a very heavy metal and glass coffee table that needed to be moved to open the sofa sleeper. It was almost impossible to move and no where to put it to open the bed...I would say it sleeps 4 comfortably.

The unit 305B in Majestic Sun was horrible. The pictures were great, however, totally misleading. The condo was dirty and in desperate need of repairs and a good cleaning. We have stayed in Majestic Sun several times and love the facilities and location. I contacted Southern Resort's office and dealt w/a guy named "Craig" and he was professional and accommodating to our needs to ensure a great vacation. He went into immediate action to resolve our unhappiness w/the condo we rented and had us moved. We had a great vacation and were very satisfied w/ Southern Resorts and their hospitality! Thank You Southern Resorts and of course "Craig" !!! He deserves a raise!!!

Positive- Keyless entry, king Bed, washer/dryer, view, access to pools, beach, distance from mall.
Needs improvement: Condo is in serious need of painting walls and baseboards. Relatively small. Sofa had many dirty spots. Table is lopsided, scratched up finishes.
Table on balcony is so large chairs can't comfortably go around it, Needs to be smaller. Threshold at balcony door is a serious danger. Also with door pulled together and not locked sometimes near impossible to get open from either side. Has someone to get caught outside and couldn't get in. Need much better directions on what entrance to take in and what code to use plus parking details. One bathroom decent size, other tiny.
Kitchen was clean but in serious need of cabinet refacing.
Nice features, but much too pricey for condition.
Also oil spill came in while there. What a mess and defeats purpose of having condo on beach.

The condo could definitely use some upkeep. Parts of it needed to be repainted, the sofa had some stains on it, and the overall condition of the place wasn't an A+. However, it had a beautiful view of the beach from the balcony, I loved the fact that it had a keyless entry, and we really enjoyed our stay. It was a great place for 7 college guys spending a weekend up in Destin, but I would find some place nicer if I were going to take my family there.

I travel to the gulf coast a couple times a year so I have some experience with condo's. My opinion of this one the towel racks were broken the base-boards, and doors were in need of a good cleaning. The cheap cupboards were coming apart, the unit needed to be painted and the floor felt greasy. I am very good at painting and cleaning I felt like I could maybe find work it I wanted to relocate. I also wondered if you as a rental agency was aware of the condition and if your other properities were in simular condition or if this was an isolated problem. Thank you for reading.

This was our first time renting a condo in Destin and I must say the overall experience was pretty seamless. I did everything online and the week before the trip, I was sent all the info I needed to enter the condo on our arrival. We were a bit confused on where the garage was to park, becuause there is a parking garage under the Majestic Sun it's just not for guests. We called the number on our confirmation and the girl sounded a bit confused when I asked her about the garage, but as we continued behind Majestic Sun, we saw the adjacent parking garage and all was well. The condo was for the most part clean, although the home is showing a good bit of wear and tear (stains on the couches, wet stains on the master bedroom comforter, lots of marks on the walls, cabinet material cracked and peeling, nic-nacs had layers of dust). However, with that overlooked, the condo was nice and everything worked. The view of the gulf from the 3rd floor patio is awesome! The location of the condo is very close to the outlet mall and a few resturaunts, but most everything else is down Hwy 98 toward Ft. Walton. It was not hard to navigate at all. What I liked best was the unobstructed view of the beach; what I liked least was every morning around 6:30 to 7am the resort sets up umbrellas & chairs for daily rental. They take up the whole span of the beach in front of Majestic Sun in the prim location (waterfront). By the time you get up and go to the beach, the only space is behind these resort chairs. The first few days, I found myself getting irritated and angry, but I got over it pretty quick.

four of us golfers had a great time in early october. hotel was fantastic, all kind of pools, plenty of space. lots of action on the beach. Seascape on the property wasn't the best course in the area but it is right next door. Emerald Lakes & kelly Plantation right donw the road are a little pricey but very nice courses. definitly would come back, maybe bring the girls with us next time.

LOVED THE LOCATION OF THE CONDO. THE VIEW WAS BEAUTIFUL. THE CONDO COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE CLEANER, BUT WE LIKED THE OVERALL FEEL AND SPACIOUSNESS OF IT. LIKED THAT THERE WERE PLENTY OF PLACES TO SLEEP. WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN!!

The Majestic Sun has nice unobstructed views. However, property overall is starting to look run down..missing signs in the pool area, gates don't work, lobby needs paint and repair. 305B needs quite a bit of work as well. Paint needs to be touched up, the cabinets are peeling, missing blinds, hole in the screen door, stains on the couch. All of these items were a concern as we did not want to be help responsible for the items. The property rental company came out to take an inventory of the items within a day which was nice, but they never came back with the repaired screen door as promised. The condo could also use more wall hangers for towels etc. The beds in the secondary room where horrible, lumpy and VERY squeaky.
