Great Location & we loved being on the beach. Southern Beach Resorts was great to work with!
We had many problems with the kitchen:
1. Ice maker brokern all week.
2. Inside the refrigerator needs to be fixed with shelves and bars. We could not keep food on the side or on one of the shelves due to the bars missing and shelf missing.
3. The range front burner did not work. (Southern Beach Resorts fixed it!)
4. Not enough pots & pans (Southern Beach Resort brought new pots & pans!)

My family really enjoyed our week long stay at IL Paradiso. The house was clean, equipped and large enough to accomodate our group. The views and set up of the home are incredible,I look forward to using Southern Vacation rentals again.

After arriving in Destin after 8 hours of travel with 4 small children, we were ready for the vacation to begin. The house we had reserved with another company had a rat infestation problem. Rat droppings were everywhere. The other company refunded our money as they did not have a viable alternative. That company directed us to SVP. Lauren found this home for us based on my described needs. She also was able to help on the rental rate given our "homeless" position. This house was very nice given its age. Having arrived just after hurricane Isaac, the beaches were a bit dirty, but that is beyond any person's control. Any maintenance issues were addressed quickly, and every staff person I had contact with was nice and professional.

First off, the representatives of southern vacation rentals were great. We were able to check in early and spent every day at the beach. To say the house is dated, like I read in so many of the reviews, is a huge overstatement. It's like saying a picaso is dated. The place in unique and the panoramic views throughout the house are breathtaking. We had a great time and would recommend this house to anyone looking to have a wonderful beach vacation with their family and friends.

This beach house is a rare find. The majority of the rental units in Destin are hotel-style or two-story condos. This house is a hexagon with two full walls of windows and a wrap-around deck. The views from inside and out are as good as they get. This large house is all one level, so older guests are guests with disabilities will have no problem getting around inside or out. The house provides everything a large group needs to make the stay very comfortable. It's also very quiet inside the house. The access to the beach so convenient, and the Winn-Dixie, the outlet mall, and other stores are all within very easy walking distance.
Destin is a fairly busy tourist destination. The traffic on 98 can be a bit wearing. We were very happy to be able to hunker down at Il Paradiso without the need to drive for food, drinks, shopping, etc.
While the rental cost on this house might seem a bit pricey, the fact that the group can cook, grill, and drink at retail prices, do laundry whenever needed, and use the provided surf sports supplies, brings the overall cost down considerably. Avoiding the Destin traffic also brings the stress level down to zero.
We rented cars, but if might be a better idea to arrange a car or van service to convey the group to and from the house. A car is not necessary once the group has reached Il Paradiso.
I suspect it's only a matter of time before a developer tears down this property to build a high-rise. How sad that will be. Rent it as soon as possible; you'll be very glad you did! -

This is a wonderful house for a large family to stay. We had ten family members sleep comfortably with lots of beds to spare. It was perfect for our low country boil wedding rehearsal dinner. Plenty of parking in the driveway, and outside table space on the octagonal porch. Huge kitchen and living area, which was perfect for guest to meet,greet and eat snacks before retiring to the porch for dinner and the beach for smores. So many compliments. Could not have been more pleased. The only reason not to give it five stars was the age of the house, which had some wear on the floors and could use a little updating, however,it was homey and relaxing.

We had our wedding here and the owners were absolute jerks!!! They drove by the house and told the rental company that there were more people there than was allowed- which was a lie. Next we didn't get our deposit back because they told us we left too much trash...hello we had a wedding there and what was the $500 event fee for??? Also, they said that we left the carpets dirty- they were filthy when we arrived! It took them at least 3 months to even give us a call back regarding the deposit and when they finally did they refused to give us back any of it. Even though we cleaned the house and washed all of the towels before we left! You can't beat the location but the service was terrible! You would think after paying over $4000 to stay there they would at least be halfway considerate!

This home is qualified and inspected to sleep 20 people and allotted to have any special event up to 30 people. Any thing over this is against fire safety codes. Southern is here to protect you as our Guest against any potentially dangerous situation that overcrowding may cause and to protect the Owner. Southern was also surprised that you found the carpets to be dirty when you arrived. This should have been reported to our office immediately as we would have been happy to recitfy the situation. Southern takes pride in this beautiful home as do many Guest and we are sorry you could not share in their feelings to be a home of dreams. There is an Event Contract you signed that states that the $500 deposit is non-refundable and states that you are responsible for bagging and disregarding your trash. We appercaite your feedback . The perfect beach house! Very roomy and beautiful view and easy access. Could improve stove/oven (very old and doesnt work to well) Staff could provide more toliet paper, and cleaning supplies. This is our 2nd visit and would definetly come back.

Location, convenience, privacy and panoramic view of ocean are truly fantastic. House is 35 years old and maintenance issues may occur(no hot water for 18 hours), but good things to say about Vacation Resorts Maintenance Staff. Air conditioning is adaquate until noon, then temperature rises quickly due to vaulted ceilings. Be prepared to buy or bring beach chairs and umbrella as property doesn't provide any. Dim lighting in bathrooms (perhaps the electrical panel can't handle higher watt bulbs). Large washer and dryer worked great. Kitchen appliances are antique (nice word for old), but worked. The property is large and suitable for a memorable family beach vacation. Don't expect new and you want be disappointed. Overall, we laughed alot, ate alot and played on the beach and in the ocean alot. I would go back in a heart beat...my wife would too if I stopped at the jewelry store first!

We stayed as a family at Il Paradiso and from the moment we entered the house we had the most amazing time. The house is situated perfectly on the beach, great for families with children. Ours were in the ocean all day. A large comfortable house with enough living area to suit all. The sunken kitchen was a hugh hit and a center point for the house. The house had a really great feel to it with fantastic views all around. I would love to return one day with my family.

Big spacious house. Great kitchen and counter space. The bunk room was perfect for housing all the groomsmen. We hosted the rehearsal dinner at the house. The weather cooperated and we were able to set up the tables outside on the spacious deck. We had room inside for everyone to gather. The counter seating area was a great set up for appetizers. Many compliments on the house! A wonderful memory for a special time in our family's life! Very pleased with our rental!

We had beautiful weather and nothing could ruin the time our family had. But, the home was not worth the high rate charged. Upon arrival, the landscaping had not been done in months. The grass was knee high and weeds surrounded the house. The curtains in the living room would not open or shut. We had to purchase large ice chests to keep food because the fridge did not work. My 14 yr old nephew got shocked from the kitchen light switch(along with myself when I tried it in disbelief). 3 hours after arrival, southern resorts called to tell me that if I wanted to have a 20 person wedding at that house it would be another $1000. We made it clear during previous conversations that we were there to get married. We will not stay with southern resorts again.

We loved this house! We had plenty of room for everyone, even though a few were on blow up beds in the den! The house is decorated great, and is located close to grocery stores, the outlet mall etc... The only complaint I have is the refrigerator. We made it work, but if we were preparing big meals, it would have been difficult. Even if there was an extra refridge in the garage that would have been helpful! Loved, Loved, Loved it! I hope to go back one day! I would have to have a big group to be able to afford it, but my group is definitely spoiled now! Southern Vacations was a breeze to work with and the Destin beaches are the best! You will not be sorry if you book this house! Thanks for many great memories that we will cherish for a lifetime!

Our week at the Il Paridisio began with hosting a small group of close
friends and family for our daughter's wedding. The home was lavishly
adorned with flowers and various "beach theme" decorations. It was an
amazing day, our guests were comfortable and raved over how beautiful
the home was and how it made for a wonderful setting for this special
event. After the newlyweds were on there way and most of the wedding
party back home, my husband and I enjoyed the rest of our time with our
other 3 children and a few of our closest friends. We were thankful for all
the beach equipment and BBQ pit supplied in the garage, it all came in
handy. Our rooms were so comfortable and really allowed us to enjoy the
feel of being on the beach for this time. We all had such a hard time leaving
and accepting this amazing time had come and gone so quickly but I hold
dear some very special memories at this beach house and we do hope to
visit again some day.
There were a few issues that I wish I had been aware of, not that I would
have changed my plans but knowing this would have helped me prepare
better. The refrigerator and freezer are actually drawers in the cabinets of
the kitchen. Quite a neat idea but when preparing for a large gathering it
makes for very tight space. There were a few things that did not work but
after alerting Southern Resorts there was a service man sent out to fix. I
was dealt with professionally and our comfort and satisfaction was a high
priority for SRVR. I have rented from them before and will continue to use
them for their excellent customer service. -

We rented this house for our beach wedding. The house was incredible and was everything that we wanted. The big deck and open doors truly brought the ocean inside. We had our reception here also and had plenty of room for 40 people. We will definetly rent this property again. We would highly recommend this house to anyone who wants to be directly on the sand. It was AWESOME!!!

The service was excellent. The staff very nice and accommodating. What can I say about the home? My family is planning to stay in the same home next year. It is the best of the ones we checked out. The view it has to the beach is breathtaking. The way the house is made, set it apart from the others and that is what we enjoyed the most. Having all the windows to enjoy the sun coming through was great and the deck was a place to enjoy God's cool breeze.

My new husband and I rented this house for our wedding. Everything was perfect! The open floorplan was wonderful and allowed everyone to be together for everything. The bunkroom was great for all the groomsmen (they felt like little kids at church camp). We couldn't have built a better house ourselves!

Very convenient location with an easy beach access. This is a very nice house. Clean, roomy, open design- our large group never felt crowded. It is in a very safe location at the end of the road and is fenced. Lots of beach toys and chairs available in the garage. I will definitely book this house again!

We absolutely enjoyed this house more than any other!! We have been going to Destin for 14 years and have stayed at several different houses, but this was the best ever! We didn't even have to get off the deck to enjoy the sun. The veiw was spectacular!!. Our group included 12 and there was plenty of room for everybody. The large bunk room was ideal for kids. We especially loved the open floor plan with the sunken kitchen. We could have conversations with one another no matter where we were at. Rent it...you will not be sorry!!!
