Our vacationers have referred to this property as the "Taj Majal" of Mission Beach. It is a luxury ocean front 2 bedroom 2 bathroom 700 square foot property located at 3443 Ocean Front Walk, which is 1/2 mile north of Belmont Park. A great choice for families or couples. Up side: All worked out great. We would go back again! Beach location was wonderful. Listening to the waves crash, watching surfers and bikers go by was great. Hot tub was hot and on beach side so you enjoy the view. We did not rent a car and taxis, trolley and bus system was great. Down side: had difficulty receiving the contract and getting deposit back. After several attempts he was finally able to get the email/contract to me (it took so many tries we were looking for an alternate rental). He charged a fee to use credit card (the alt was to mail a check). Then when we asked for deposit return he accidentally changed an additional $500 deposit instead of sending a credit to my card. All worked out but I had to wait for a deposit refund check to arrive in the mail...I think he was trying to avoid charge card fees.

We stayed at the 2 bedroom condo of Kurt's in this group, and it was fantastic - our contact with the owners was prompt and genuine and the condo had everything we wanted. Travelling from australia, we were uncertain about dea;ing in accommodation this way, but the process went sooo smoothly, wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or use it again. The condo was spotless, and the location perfect - not to mention the beach.

The condo was great, couldn't have asked for more. It was clean and comfortable, had everything we needed and it was great to be so close to the ocean. It was convenient to the USS midway, zoo and San Diego. The weather was perfect the entire week.

Always tricky when booking a rental online. You never know what you are going to get. We were please from the first moment we walked into this rental. Just to list a few of the positives...the owner was very friendly and welcoming...the view of the ocean was great but you still had privacy unlike some of the other units in the building...hot tub was always clean and had a view of the ocean...close to the action but far enough away for it to be quiet at night...sound system built into every room including bathrooms...can see the ocean from the master bedroom if you wish...bathrooms and kitchen were very stylish...had a washer and dryer. We had such a great and relaxing time at this location...I would love to go back!

This spot was the perfect get away. Our family of 4 loved being right on the beach! The condo was clean, comfortable and we loved being within walking distance of so many activities. The location is midway between Ocean Beach and Pacific Beach, so we were out of ear shot of nighttime bar scene. We enjoyed watching the sunset right from our front window, we hope to be back sometime soon!!!

Our family had a great holiday at the Surf Rider. The condo was clean and had everything you could possibly want. It was the perfect location to access the many attractions in the area. San Diego was only 10-15 minutes away and has an incredible amount of things to do. USS Midway, the Maritime Museum, Balboa Park (which also houses San Diego Zoo) are a must as is a whale watching trip (depending on the time of year). We used Advenure Hornblower which had great commentary from the captain. We loved the Gaslamp Quarter and the city and harbour themselves must rank up there as the cleanest in the world. Seaworld is a five minute drive (we walked it in 45 mintues along the bay). There are loads of eating places and grocery stores, particularly a mile up the road in Pacific Beach. We hired bikes one day (from Cheap Rentals which are closest but there are others) and cycled around the whole bay which was lovely until about 1/2 way around when the bayside cycle path disappeared and you had to cycle along busy roads for a while on the bike lane. We just used the sidewalk which was much better with 2 children in tow! Of course the beach was on your doorstep which was fantastic. In the morning (if you got up early enough, 6-8am is best) you could see dolphins playing in the surf. Each night a glass of wine and the beautiful sunset was the perfect end to the day. The only downside that us Brits could think of was that you drive on the wrong side of the road, oh and of course we had to come home!

Kurt and Kelly were as always gracious hosts and did everything to make sure our stay was what we have grown to expect.I'm sure there are other wonderful places to stay on Mission beach but we have been spoiled by the best.We will always think of the Surfrider as our home away from home when we are in San Diego.
