“Good Views and Nice Walking Access”

We like to vacation using condominiums, giving us that home away from home feel. This includes some space, a reasonable kitchen, the ability to do our laundry and keep up with the condo towels and linens, and the ability to walk out of the door onto beaches and walkways. This condo had a nice view and was right off of the boardwalk. You could hear the ocean from the room at night. The kitchen was very nice with good appliances. There was dedicated parking, although a little bit of a walk, but it was reasonable. The size of the condo was a huge disappointment. It was only about 300 feet. There was no washer or dryer. Although not listed as an amenity, there was a washer in the pictures of the condo. I should not have assumed that it was actually on the property. According to the owner, he was surprised to find that it was still in the condo pictures. We under-packed and had to go out to do our laundry. The sliding glass windows are supposed to open up to expand the living space, but we had so much trouble getting them to lock after sliding them open. We decided to bag the idea. We were afraid that we would be unable to lock the door again. There was some corrosion in the latch mechanism. The shower was in the middle of a jacuzzi tub and you had to step over the threshold of the tub to get in. For my 5'2" frame, it was awkward and unsafe with the slippery floors. There was no way to take a shower without getting the proximal floor wet. You had to step into the shower to turn on the water and therefore get a blast of cold water every time. On two occasions the water went cold and we had to reset the on-demand water heater while in the process of showering. As for the loft bedroom, it overlooks the bathroom and affords no privacy for the one in the bathroom. A few housekeeping items would be nice to have in the condo, such as a toilet brush, vacuum, and a broom. I should have asked more questions before reserving the condo. It would be okay for a weekend, but not a week. I am not certain that I would recommend this condo to a friend (the last question in this survey). Would only recommend it for a short weekend.

Response from the owner Happy that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the feedback...a couple quick updates. We have included a map along with written directions to condo and parking spot. Address is 3275 Ocean Front Walk, #7, Mission Beach, CA, 92109. We check on water and the ondemand hot water heater thermostat was turned down to 100 degrees...we reset it and turned it back up to 120 degrees ( thermostat is under bath sink). Stove is working...simply push on then up and sown arrows to select temperature (model Dacor).
