We are a group of 7 older folks. Booked online, Kendra K was prompt, courteous and very helpful in her replies. Views are stunning, furnishings topnotch and location is good. Lots of great restaurants withing walking distance as well as a gourmet kitchen. We were lucky enough to get the master bdrm., wonderful to fall asleep listening to the waves crash and see the moon on the water. A little pricey for a couple but great for a group.
Only downside was garbage and recycling, both cans missing in action, so had to use the neighbors after dark.
All and all, if that's all there is to complain about, it was a great holiday. -

Thanks for helping us find our most enjoyable vacation destination this year. Kendra and the other Bluewater staff we worked with were exceptional!
The location was perfect for our group, the condo was clean and very comfortable.

I have stayed in many places in San Diego and this home was by far the best. Spacious, super clean and comfortable. Loved the balcony and the amazing views. The location is great as it is right in between Crystal Pier and Belmont Park. We walked or rode bikes everywhere. The staff at Bluewater was very helpful, responsive and available for any questions. Would definitely stay here on all our future visits!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Rockaway! We were a mixed group with 5 adults and 3 young children, and the house was great for everyone. The staff at Bluewater was very courteous and accommodating before, during, and after our stay. The house was beautifully decorated and well maintained, and the views and sounds of the ocean were amazing. We spent a lot of time on the beach just steps away, and we appreciated all the beach chairs, mats, and toys available in the garage. We all agreed that we would certainly return to the Rockaway next time we are in San Diego!

The condo was so much fun and in an excellent location to everything! It was spacious, modern, and the view was excellent. Kendra was very helpful and informative. We would definitely vacation here again and have already recommended Rockaway to our friends.

We all loved this place, location was perfect and the sunsets were wonderful. Hope we can return again someday soon! The 2-car garage was great since parking can be a problem. Beach just out the front door and lots of good restuarants nearby!

Loved this place. Beautiful decor & accomodation. perfect location. Garage easily fit our small infiniti SUV. lovely balcony with comfy chairs (shame the fire pit was broken.) wonderful sunshine in the afternoon in the master.

A group of us came out to celebrate our 11th anniversary on 11/11/11 and this place worked out perfectly. At first, we were a little worried the size would not accommodate us, but Kendra was very comforting and reassured us that we would all be very pleased. We could not be more pleased. All of our guests were beyond impressed. The location was perfect, the view was perfect, and we were all very comfortable. We used the pit so much that we ran out of propane, but that was only because we put it to good use. This event was very memorable for us. We would definitely rent this place again. We liked being on the second floor because it kept us above eye ground to see everything. We visited a couple of restaurants, we walked the beach, ran surfed, you name it, it was available. Liquor store a block away, grocery store...blocks away. We could not have asked for a better place for our special event. Thanks!

I would like to send many thanks to the Blue Water Vacation Homes team.
We had travelled from Toronto Canada, and had no idea what it would be like on the west coast. Kendra at Blue Water Vacation Homes reassured me I would not be let down.
Our place was very clean and very welcoming, just like the staff.
Located right on the beach at Mission Beach, the sights and sounds made our trip much more of an experience than a vacation.
Once again I cannot express how pleased I was, let alone my guests were during our stay with Blue Water Vacation Homes!!
A definitely a return guest!!

First of all we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and decided to rent a place on the beach with our family, which included a 4 year old a 5 month old. We weren't aware that there was no air conditioning in the condo. All of the sliding screen doors were off the tracks and needed to be replaced. When we opened the screens, they did not come together and we were constantly letting in flies. When we complained we were told that the screens needed to be specially ordered. I'm not sure if they were ever ordered. Next, the bedrooms. In one of the bedrooms the vertical blinds were screwed up. One section had at least 6-7 blinds missing in one spot and the curtains were falling off the curtain rod. Obviously there was very little privacy in this room. We did call the rental company and complained and at least the blinds in that room were replaced while we were there. I'm not sure when the last time was that the windows were cleaned on the outside - there was bird dirt all over the master bedroom picture window overlooking the beach. The pictures of the condo on the internet shows several people all standing around an outdoor firepit on the balcony. We were told a week before we arrived that it wasn't working but that they hoped it would be fixed before we got there. It wasn't fixed and apparently hasn't been in working condition for awhile. We were told that, too,needed special order parts. We asked to be refunded some of our money but again, the owner wouldn't budge. I was very offended when I called after we got home to talk to someone again and was told that there was a problem with the condo and did I know what she was talking about. I said "no, I have no idea what you're talking about". She preceded to tell me that there was a crack on the stove top. There was no way that we put a crack on that stove top! I kind of felt like she was trying to get back at me for complaining.

We always strive to make sure that our guests are 100% satisfied and have the very best vacation experience possible. It appears that we were not able to make that happen is this instance, and for that I apologize.
I would however like to address the concerns that you made in regards to your two star review of your stay. First of all, we pride ourselves on being responsive to any issues that need attention. Unlike many owners or management companies, we don’t ignore complaints or tell you to deal with it. We answer the phone and act on any concerns at once. The same day you notified us, we had the blinds replaced. Our overseer should have noticed it, but unfortunately did not.
To address the fire pit, the pilot and plumbing had corroded from the salt air and it was brought to our attention previous to your stay. We had 2 different maintenance companies try to fix it and it was determined that the plumbing would have to be completely replaced. We tried everywhere possible in San Diego County and ended up having to special order the part from Los Angeles. I know this was disappointing, but the salt air had damaged it such that it would have been dangerous to operate until it was fixed properly.
The new screen doors were special ordered from Arizona and put in after your stay as well. Previous guests had damaged the old ones to the point where they no longer worked properly. These are custom made and had to ordered and shipped from the manufacturer in Arizona.
In regards to the picture windows, it really is an amazing view and we pay extra to have the windows cleaned regularly. As anyone that lives in coastal San Diego can tell you, for some reason this year there was an extraordinary amount of pelicans cruising the beach. They caused quite a mess and were hard to keep up with. We were not made aware of this concern during your stay or we certainly would have sent someone promptly.
This home is not advertised as having A/C and most homes in coastal San Diego do not have it or need it because of the cooling ocean breezes. There are ceiling fans and we do provide box fans for guests that request them.
In regards to the follow up on the cracked stove top, in order to keep the home in good condition we try have the same overseer at the home for each inspection of the property. This was not noted previous to your arrival. This may have been overlooked, or sometimes accidents may happen, especially with a large group. All of our reservations have an accidental damage insurance policy which covers things of this nature so the security deposit is not affected. Your security deposit was refunded in full. Although our agreements protect us against any issues that may occur in order to give us a chance to correct them, in this case we couldn’t correct a couple issues during your stay, so we did in fact issue a credit in the form of a check that was cashed. If you need a copy of the cancelled check, please let us know.
Again, our main objective is to ensure our guest's satisfaction and comfort. Unfortunately we were unable to provide a perfect experience for you and for that, I apologize again. I do hope that you would give us another opportunity to host you and hope you have a wonderful New Year!

Thank you for an incrdedible vacation ! The Rockaway Retreat was a great choice, thank you ! We celebrated my mother-in-laws' 70th Birthday ! We put her up in the ocean front master suite where she enjoyed waking up to the waves crashing right in front of her each morning. She said she had fun sipping her morning coffee in bed while watching the dolphins swimming in the ocean waves ! The condo was very spacious and each of us had our private space which made it very, very comfortable for all. My wife and I slept in the back two bedrooms along with our two daughters. The Jack and Jill Bathroom was perfect for us and even being in the back bedrooms, we could open our windows and clearly hear the waves crashing as we went to sleep ! My wifes aunt slept in the 4th bedroom and enjoyed having the comfort of her own bathroom. The kitchen, livingroom, and ocean front balcony areas were fantastic! We enjoyed grilling up some fresh fish on the bbq for dinner while watchng the world series baseball games on the surround sound tv theatre systym ! I think we would all agree that our favorite part was sitting around the fire pit on the ocean front balcony each evening listening to the waves with a bowl of ice cream and sharing stories with each other about our day and our lives. The Rockaway Retreat truly offered us a piece of paradise and we created life long memories during our stay there. Thank you so much !

I organized a trip for my husband's 40th birthday--there were 3 couples and we chose this house based on location, amenities, and the pictures on the bluewater website.
The house is amazing--3 bedrooms with Queen beds (great for couples!) and a forth room with a futon, upscale appliances, bath fixtures, tile, etc. And being oceanfront to see the amazing sunsets off the balcony was truly an experience. There was also a secondary balcony off the two bedrooms in the back of the house which was an unexpected bonus. Another great thing was the 2 car garage--never having to worry about finding a spot or gettng towed. Location was fabulous--we walked to all the bars in PB and MB.
The team at Bluewater was really on the game and helped make this a great trip for us. They were always friendly, and always available to answer our questions (like when we couldn't figure out how to work the Tv---it was user error but they were so patient with us!) All the bathrooms had upscale bath products including lotion, which was a nice touch from Bluewater. Also, very nice that the door had a electronic combo-style lock so we didn't have to worry about picking up keys, etc. It's these little things that make a difference and Bluewater really is top notch here.Response from Bluewater Vacation Homes - 11/15/2011
