Darrell's South Mission Penthouse! One of of the best locations in Mission Beach: just a couple of blocks south of Belmont Amusement Park, 100 steps to put your toes in the water of the Pacific Ocean, and approximately another 100 steps across the street is the lovely 4,000 acre Mission Bay Aquatic Park. Mission Bay has calmer water which is safer for young children and there is also a young children's playground just two blocks away. There are miles and miles of sidewalk for bicycle riding or just strolling. This condo also boasts a nice view of the... SeaWord fireworks at night in the summers.
This comfortably furnished beach condo with A/C and a TV in each bedroom is on the top (4th) floor of an 8 unit building with an elevator. The living room has a small balcony with a table, chairs, and an electric grill. Both Futon sofas convert into double beds for additional sleeping room.
There is a flat screen TV with cable, high speed internet and WiFi, in the living-room. Each bedroom also has a TV as well as A/C! The Master bedroom has a King bed and the second bedroom has double-size bunk beds (double bed on both the top and bottom bunk). The fully equipped kitchen is convenient for cooking and eating meals at home allowing you to save money for all of the activities that San Diego offers, like the Zoo or SeaWorld. Garage parking for one car, and two beach cruiser bicycles for exploring miles of boardwalk along the ocean. There are also 4 beach chairs, 2 boogie boards, sand toys for kids, beach towels...and there is an inexpensive coin-op laundry room on the first floor to wash out all those salty clothes!
Just one mile from SeaWorld, three miles from Old Town, and 7-9 miles from the downtown GasLamp District and San Diego Convention Center, the Embarcadero with it's floating museums and SeaPort Village, the famous San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park, and the San Diego airport.
Just 30 to 45 miles North and NorthEast is LegoLand and Safari Wild Animal Park.
Make this your comfortable home for enjoying all that San Diego has to offer.

Before arriving, the service from the ladies at the office was wonderful. They were so helpful in answering all my questions and all the details.
The condo was exactly as described and even better than the pictures online. The master bedroom was spacious, the living room cute with a nice view from the balcony and the kids room was perfect. It had all the amenities you could need, including beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels and two beach bikes. A nice little market a block away that has everything you could want, plus a Ralphs about 3 miles away if you want to do some serious shopping.
Only a few down sides. If you have a large SUV, the garage will be difficult for you, however after dark, there is plenty of street and side street parking (after the beach goers head home). There isn't a washer/dryer in the unit and only 1 of each in the laundry room on property. We chose to go to the laundry mat a block and a half away to get all the laundry done at once which worked out better for us. Lot's of traffic noise if you want to have the windows or balcony door open, but once closed you never heard it at all.
Suggestion to the staff: it would be wonderful to have packets of condiments (sugar, ketchup, mustard, etc) as those can easily be purchased without spoiling but are very expensive for a traveler to purchase for only a few days of vacation. It would be a wonderful addition to the kitchen. That and a larger frying pan - cooking eggs for a family of four would have been easier with one that was just slightly larger.
Otherwise, this was a fabulous rental unit for so close to the beach. Would recommend it to anyone asking!

Our week in MB couldn't have been better for our family of 4. The location was perfect right off the beach. The condo was clean and had everything we needed. We loved having the 2 bikes and beach chairs, boogie boards etc. We left behind another boogie board that we had purchased for future guests.

The apartment was nice with plenty of room for a family of five. The kitchen was stocked with enough dishes,glasses and cups.The coffee maker was very useful. Beach accessories were useful. Great location & plenty of walking opportunities. Secure parking was a plus. That said I do have a few complaints! One of the boogie board was old and caused a severe rash on my 7 yr old stomach on the 1st day. The place had a lot of dust balls and my wife swept them up.
Closet has a musty smell.The king bed mattress is very uncomfortable,mattress pad and sheet kept sliding off to one side. For the price we paid we expected a better view of the ocean. Not much balcony space. View was facing East and Mission Blvd. Lot's of traffic noise. Would have preferred the view facing North. We were located on the 4th floor & using the elevator I noticed that it had not been inspected since 2010. The area to the elevator and the elevator itself were dirty with a lot of dirty stains. Very bad need of a cleaning. Again for the price we paid, not pleased with our stay overall. Will not stay there ever again. Read more

We are very sorry to hear that these guests did not enjoy their overall stay with us at this property. We take all complaints quite seriously as 5 star ratings and happy guests who yearn to return and stay with us time and time again are always our ultimate goal. Areas of specific concern for this guest that have since been rectified and/or looked into are as follows: The boogie boards have been replaced with new ones, the mattress was replaced for the King bed, the cleaning service was notified about the concern over dust-balls as well as the custodial staff about the elevator. Regarding the elevator inspection, there is an elevator company that routinely maintains the elevator for the building so it is safe. The Owner had also called the city about the certificate previously to this noted concern and was told that they were way behind at the time due to a lack of inspectors from budget cuts, and that they would get to it, which has since occurred and the inspection was passed and the certificate updated. In response to the view and location, unfortunately we wish these guests would have called prior to booking as our Agents know all of our properties intimately and are here to help you select the best possible match given specific criteria and budget constraints. We know how confusing it can be to search for things sight unseen online and that sometimes details are missed; in this instance, we do not advertise this property as one with an Ocean View but as a property with a Bay View and a small balcony (not a patio) with a BBQ and seating for 2 people. There are also double pane windows which greatly alleviate the sound from the street. We do thank these guests for bringing these items to our attention though. All noted concerns have been addressed and we feel confident that this beautiful property offers a unique location that many will love (both the beautiful serene bay and the Ocean Surf are right at your fingertips!). Did we mention that there is A/C in each bedroom? This is a rarity in our coastal areas where the Ocean and its beautiful sea breeze typically provides a natural cooling effect.
