Baroque Luxury
Left on 10/04/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Located in the heart of gorgeous Modica, Sicily, this house has old world charm, world-class views and amenities, and a thoroughly modern and updated interior. The kitchen is awesome and extremely well appointed. Bedrooms are spacious and each has a private bathroom. The house is in the heart of old, historic town with incredible views of Modica's two baroque churches. With a spacious terrace, and the view of the town, churches, and valley, you have the perfect setting for dinner. We'd go back for another week in a heartbeat.

Cape Town, South AfricaWonderful place to stay in a magical town
Left on 07/14/2012 for a stay in May 2012
I stayed in this wonderfully renovated, and very comfortable family home while participating in a cooking course run by the owner, Katia.
The town of Modica is quite spectacular, with beautiful baroque architecture set on both sides of a steep valley. The town has a number of excellent restaurants and there are a number of unique foodie experiences to be had (e.g. Modica chocolate, Moak coffee, etc). The home is fantastically positioned to explore the town and to enjoy the views from the balcony, living areas and bedrooms.
The week long cooking course was, however, a real travel highlight. Both Katia and angelo are passionate and knowledgeable about Sicilian food and wine, and the history and culture of the area and are enthusiastic about sharing this with the participants. The small groups allow for great interaction and the course is a fantastic balance between cooking and other foodie and cultural experiences. I cannot recommend the course more highly.

Fairfax, VA, USAmazing stay with Love Sicily in Modica
Left on 05/29/2011 for a stay in October 2010
We stayed at Sipario for a week as part of a "Love Sicily" culinary holiday and it was wonderful. The home is immaculate, modern and well-appointed. Don't be deterred by the ~80 stairs to the entrance -- you'll need the exercise after cooking with Katia!
Katia, Angelo and Pinuccia took care of our every need and introduced us to the vibrancy, culture and food of Sicily. We enjoyed hanging out with other guests in the evenings on the terrace & in the kitchen. Dining "family style" around the big square table and enjoying the evening passeggiata in Modica are delights.
Free wi-fi keeps you connected with folks back home (but you'll be having so much fun, you won't want to be).
We highly recommend it! -

Fort Walton Beach, FloridaA wonderful experience!
Left on 05/24/2011 for a stay in April 2010
We stayed here while attending a weeklong cooking vacation with "Love Sicily". (The cooking classes are also held here.)
The house is very modern and comfortable with a nice patio and incredible view of the city. The only drawback might be that it is at the top of a long staircase--but that's why it has the views! Modica is a great town and a good base for exploring the area.
I highly recommend the cooking vacation. -

HoustonLovely family home
Left on 05/19/2011 for a stay in May 2010
This is a simple but lovely family place that was restored by Katia. My room had an incredible view of the cathedral and Upper Modica. The terrace was also a favorite place to relax or enjoy lunch. The kitchen is commercial grade as Katia hosts cooking classes (highly recommended). Katia ensures that you feel the house is very much your home. The 70+ steps from the street to the door are a great cardio work out but you may want to think twice about heavy purchases ! It's in a great location for walking to various churches and restaurants.
We had a very nice stay. -

Sumptuous meals, delightful proprietors, charming views of Modica, a quaint and picturesque town. The only issue during our stay was that the shower in our room was difficult to use without flooding our hallway.

Thanks and you are right about the shower! We have now added a great shower box so the water problem is no longer there.

Fremantle, AustraliaHigh standard of accommodation in atmospheric town
Left on 05/17/2011 for a stay in April 2011
Exceptional apartment with breathtaking view of Modica. Unlike many accommodations shared, all bedrooms were of the same standard and the kitchen, used at other times as a cooking school, is very well appointed. We enjoyed buying food from the local shops and using the kitchen facilities. Breakfast on the balcony in such a beautiful spot was such a pleasure. Our only problem was tearing ourselves away from the apartment to tour the area. Modica and the surrounding towns of Ragusa & Noto were all well worth visiting - beautiful baroque towns honed from the same local stone. Katia & Angelo the hosts were extremely helpful with luggage and recommendations and their care was evident in the appointment of the apartment.
