Description from the owner
Cortijo Uribe is a beautifully restored manor house set in acres of AndalucĂa olive groves and pine forests.
The house is in excess of 200 years old and major restoration has taken place during the last four years.
The apartment has a large lounge and a fully fitted kitchen. There are two bathrooms one of which is en-suite. Outside there is a private balcony with stunning views of the countryside and mountains. The views at Sunset are the best when the mountains change through every colour of apricot to fire red. An experience not to me missed.
This apartment is on the first floor with a staircase.

Additional Location Information
Antequera used to be the capital of AndalucĂa and is situated at the heart of the area, with Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Malaga all within 1hr - 1hr 15 minutes drive. Antequera has a lot of history of conquest and tragedy and dates from 722 BC. The town has 2 of the largest Dolmen burial mounds in Europe. It also has a beautiful Monastery which surveys all from its vantage point at the top of the hill, the main facade looks out onto a courtyard here you can dine under the stars or bask in the sun. The town has many squares which come to life in the evenings, families visit and birds sing. Antequera also boast its own International Golf Course.
Fuenta de Piedra is 10 kilometres from the Cortijo and is the summer home to over 1500 Flamingos and is the only place in Europe where these birds can be seen viewing takes place from the new visitors centre there. Fuente is also home to a Donkey Sanctuary and visitors are very welcome.
Mollina used to the main wine area of the region and it used to produce 80% of the wine for Malaga. There are still many vineyards left and these can be visited by appointment. In view of this every year Mollina hosts a wine festival in August with music and dancing for 3 nights and is very popular with locals and holiday makers.
There are many local Romerias, Fiestas and festivals in the area, we can tailor make your stay to incorporate one of these should you wish. Some of these can even be visited on horseback which we can arrange.
The Cortijo has a riding school attached and we can give lessons in any discipline. We also take riding clients out into the countryside or on 2 day rides with overnight camping under the stars, with Sevilliana music and entertainment.
4x4 rides in the countryside, cycling, fitness holidays, bridge holidays, murder mystery weekends and art classes are all on offer; see our web site for details.
The whole of the region is filled with good tapas bars and traditional restaurants usually handed down through the family. Many of these restaurants have a big open Spanish fire place which makes winter dining a pleasure as they place the hot coals under the table to keep your feet warm!!
Should the above be of interest we look forward to welcoming you to a very special place - CORTIJO URIBE.

WilmslowSurpassed the marketing! (& how often does that happen?)
Left on 01/20/2013 for a stay in August 2012
My family stayed at Cortijo Uribe in august 2012 and had the best holiday ever: for my two daughters, there is now no alternative holiday destination! It's somewhere that I should probably keep secret!
So, why so special? Impectable hosting; excellent accomodation; beautiful setting and superb equine facilities.
A key feature for us was the riding, which (thankfully) was awesome; the girls did a good variety of hacks (with incredible scenery and occasional picnics!), lessons in school etc - with great/skilled staff and spent alot of their time in the stables.
Paul and Chistine are fabulous hosts - friendly, welcoming and with as much help/support as you need - they create a really fabulous atmosphere.
The accomodation is very special too - a beautifully restored old spanish "manor house", nested peacefully in the middle of miles of olive groves; our suite was very well equiped (incl wifi/kitchen...) and relaxing with the view from the beautiful swimming pool just amazing.
The food was always also a delight, absolutley never disappointed - even the "simplest" things were special.
It is the perfect location to relax & unwind, as well as to ride and explore.

CumbriaLuxury Family Holiday
Left on 01/18/2013 for a stay in July 2012
We spent an amazing summer holiday here in July 2012. We were greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere and that continued throughout our holiday. It was an unforgettable stay. The accommodation was just perfect and my daughter loved the pool and the ponies. A dream destination if you want to meet likeminded people and enjoy the most peaceful and relaxing time. A true oasis. The facilities were excellent and of a high standard. Totally spotless and top quality food, customer service and we met friends for life. x
