This detached cottage is located on a working farm in Llanddewi Skirrid near to Abergavenny and can sleep five people in three bedrooms. The Cider House is a detached, barn conversion cottage on a working farm on the edge of the village of Llanddewi Skirrid, just 5 miles from Abergavenny in South Wales. The cottage has one king-size double, one twin and one single bedroom and two family bathrooms, making it suitable for five people. Also in the cottage are a fitted kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area and a wood burning stove. Outside the cottage is off road parking for two cars, a covered area for bike storage and a sitting area wi...th outdoor furniture and a barbecue. Set in glorious countryside, The Cider House is a lovely cottage for exploring this part of South Wales.

Amenities: Oil central heating with woodburner in sitting room. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, chest freezer, washing machine, flat screen TV/DVD. Fuel, power and starter pack of fuel for woodburner inc. in rent (extra wood can be purchased from the owner). Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot. Off road parking for 2 cars. Covered area for bike storage. Enclosed rear gravel area with furniture, BBQ and access to paddock. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 5 miles, pub 3 miles.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  The Welsh Experience

  The house was lovely and in a great setting - ideal. The couple who greeted us were absolutely wonderful. There was a burner and supplied fuel (which was not needed as the conventional heating was more than adequate). Kitchen a little on the 'compact' side but had everything that could have been needed. Our only problem was an influx of flies. Living in the country ourselves we know that it can be a problem, but this was awful. We were swatting nonstop and even bought a load of window stickers to trap them. We kept doors and windows carefully shut but still they managed to find a way in. They were the only blight on what was otherwise an excellent holiday. We loved it and would certainly go again.

  Far From The Maddening Crowd

  A lovely cottage with plenty of character far enough from the nearest town to be nice and quite but close enough if you need a quick shopping fix. Some fantastic walks on the doorstep, literally, and friendly owners who are close at hand to help when needed.
  
  If you're never been to this part of Wales before, you must come, if you have, this is a great base for the Black Mountains and Borders.
  
  My wife and I would definatly return, for our friends, Wales was just to wet.
