Have just spent a wonderful week staying at Mas du Bois Dore in the one-bedroomed La Cour gite. It is in the most perfect location on the hillside but within easy reach of the fashionable resorts of Cannes, Nice and even Monte Carlo is within travelling distance.
The gite itself was well equipped, tasteful French decor and lots of outdoor sitting areas. We were made to feel most welcome by Jane the on-site manager who is passionate about sharing her local knowledge which helped us get the most from our stay.
It was the perfect vacation which allowed us to get out and explore the local area whilst also being able to relax in the comfortable setting of the Mas du Bois Dore. Next year will be booking a two week break. -

We were traveling with my spouse and daughter and decided to stay not at the sea shore but somewhere in a real Provencal village. This place was exactly what we were looking for - splendid view right from the house window, interesting and easy approachable points of interest (50 min to Cannes, 5 min to Mons, up to 20 min to the most of villages in the area), clean and very well equipped house , very responsive and ready to help house manager - Jane.
I would recommend the place to those travelling with children or oldies who prefer silence, style and hospitality of real Provencal village -

Oh my dear God - this place is unbelievable.
My wife and I went to Mas du Bois Dore for our honeymoon in mid-September and it was, simply put, the greatest vacation of our lives.
The Gite was great - with a beautiful poolside view that looked over olive groves and the mountainside. You are only a few miles from the quaintest little town, Mons, which has a terrific boulangerie and the most amazing restaurant (Chez Barbaroux) that our hosts recommended the first night. We took a day-trip to the Gorges du Verdon, which was an amazing experience.
Our hosts were terrific - they greeted us with open arms and then left us to do our own thing when we were looking for time alone.
I can't imagine a more wonderful place to spend a vacation - we are definitely going back for an anniversary down the line. -

My husband, our two daughters and I spent one amazing week at the Mas du Bois Doré. We rented the Gîte "les 2 chevals", and it was perfect for us: the facilities, the view, the BBQ, the 2 bathroom... The breathtaking view as well as the isolation made these holidays the perfect choice to have both a resting and family quality time. Our hosts were adorable, available yet discreet. They decorated the gîte with taste and intelligence….good job! We’d love to go back and would recommend to any family with 2 kids (3 max.).

We stayed in Les Deux Chevaux, a tastefully decorated and spotless clean apartment (with the best mattresses ever!!). We arrived late at night, in a storm, and we couldn't see anything when we arrived. When we woke up and opened the door the next morning we were stunned: the view is so spectacular! We saw the glistening and inviting pool against a breathtaking decor of green hills. The scent of the herbs, the olive and fig trees, the sun ... This is what were looking for!
Bob and Lunette are just as wonderful. We were invited to a welcome diner in the garden, along with some other guests. Lunette made a delicious ratatouille and cucumber soup. The perfect start of a perfect holiday!!! -

Highly recommended as a Gite to rent for a relaxing holiday and to do day trips out.
During and after booking, Bob and Lunette were very helpful and provided useful travel information. We were met with a friendly reception and tour on arrival. The owners were always friendly and willing to give local orientation and 'tourist' information advice which was very useful.
Lovely hillside olive grove views towards the sea. Lovely scenic pool for relaxing by and cooling off, with view down the hill and across to a local gorge. Gas BBQ and patio areas provided for all gites. Gite was extremely well presented and smart. Uk / European (English language) satellite TV and broadband was great. Kitchen facilities good.
Mountainous location with good views and villages nearby to explore. About 45 minutes from Cannes and the beaches. Great location to relax and do day trips from.
We wouldn't hesistate to recommend this gite and hope to visit again in the future.
Thank you! -

Somerville, MAIdyllic place and a wonderful, memorable stay for our family
Left on 05/30/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We had the pleasure of staying at Mas Du Bois Dore for one week at the end of april/early May 2012. We were traveling with our 2 year old daughter and had such an amazing time. It was a terrific launching spot for exploring the hilltowns of the Haut Var as well as the Cote d'Azur.
The property is wonderfully and lovingly kept by Bob and Lunette. The irises were blooming and I was a huge fan of the cook's garden with every herb you might imagine. I visited the garden nearly every evening to get some necessary ingredients for dinner.
We stayed in the Loge du Chaffeur and were very comfortable. They were kind enough to provide us with a special chair for our daughter as well and a crib. There was everything we needed in the kitchen for pots and pans, knives, and having laundry was ideal. The house was in excellent condition and beautifully furnished.
The only minor negative was that the property is a little remote and so going to the supermarket was something we always did on our way home from a day's adventure, and it also took us longer than expected to get to places because we weren't willing to zip up and down the hill as a local might. There is a little market in the nearby town of Mons, and we also went there for a quick bread or something. The winding roads along the gorge up to the property afford you spectacular views and our daughter especially loved the cows along the side of the road and the noise that their cow bells made as they wandered about.
We can't say enough great things about the Mas du Bois Dore. It was a perfect place for our family to stay. It wasn't warm enough to use the pool, but I imagine on a future stay (in a warmer month) we might use the pool, the bbq and never leave.

This was the perfect location for a relaxing family holiday. My husband and I, and our 2 sons (age 9 and 12)spent a wonderful week here. We discovered some lovely villages, spent time on the beach, discovered the lovely nearby gorge de saignole and really enjoyed relaxing beside the pool and "eating in." Everything you need is provided, from gas grill to towels for the pool. Bob and Lunette are wonderful hosts and have really created a wonderful place, beautifully kept and decorated. We would love to return and highly recommend Mas du bois doré.

When we drove up the entryway of the Mas du Bois Doré, we were not disappointed. A superb setting, a breathtaking view from the pool, a meticulously restored "Mas", priceless tranquility...We were warmly welcomed by Robert, the owner, who showed us the property and the appartment we were staying, the "Loge du Chauffeur". This two-bedroom gite is beautifully furnished and decorated by Robert's wife Lunette, as are the 2 other gites and the chambre d'hote.
Le Mas du Bois Doré was perfect for us: lazing by the pool & enjoying the setting, or visiting Nice, Cannes, Fréjus, St Tropez which are in easy reach. We booked for next year...for another holiday in splendid isolation. -

My wife and I stayed here while we were in the area for the Monaco Grand Prix. It's hard to imagine a more storybook setting than this one.Beautiful grounds, thoughtful decor inside our gite. It's location was great for us, because we wanted to see the beach cities of Cannes, Nice and Monaco, but didn't want to miss out on the relaxation that a more pastoral property like this provides. We were able to do day trips between aix and Monaco, then return at the end of the day.Truly a fine representation of the Provence/Var region. We will be back!

Mas du Bois Dore is the perfect spot for a vacation in Provence. Nestled among the perched villages with sensational views from the gites, pool and terrace off the grand salon, the Mas is well located for exploratory day trips and well situated for days devoted to relaxing in the Provencal sunshine. The Jones are the most gracious of hosts and provide exquisitely comfortable and beautifully decorated accomodations.

Left on 12/10/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Staying at Mas Du Bois Dore was the highlight of our two week trip to England and France. We did not know exactly what to expect and were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The property is near the top of a mountain with a scenic beautiful drive through dense forest on a winding mountain road with views of the mountains and valleys. It was just another world we did not know existed, just beautiful.
On arrival we were met by Bob Jones the owner and host. Bob is originally from Texas and he gave us a warm welcome and tour of the property. Bob and his wife Lunette were gracious and accommodating making us feel that our visit was really appreciated.
The property is a beautiful French farm producing olives from the many olive trees on terraces surrounding the large stone farm house. Bob and Lunette the owners have worked hard to make each of the guest units unique and wonderful. They have done a great job remodeling the property.
The location was perfect for us. We went to the nearby lake and spent the afternoon on a paddle boat paddling and swimming in a beautiful mountain lake. We also took several day trips to the French Riviera by Cannes and even a day trip to Italy. The area is amazing. The weather was great, and even though it was hot down a sea level in July, it was cool and much less humid up on the mountain at the B & B.
We recommend staying here for anyone that wants to see the wonderful mountaintop villages of rural France and the French Riviera. You can literally spend hours looking around the quaint villages in the surrounding mountains and shopping in the wonderful little shops there. Also the food and restaurants in the nearby villages were wonderful. Every thing is prepared fresh and the cooking is superb.
If you are looking for a once in a lifetime adventure in the beautiful south of France stay here.
