The apartments Casa Bonaventura A, B, C, D, E and F are part of a farmhouse which covers 20 hectares (50 acres). The guests of the farmhouse share the gardens, two swimming pools, a tennis court, the olive grove, the vineyard and the wood.
The apartments are part of a tiny historical burg, immersed in the green of the Tuscan hills, and made up of four buildings, connected to each other by terracotta pathways and surrounded by lawns and flowerbeds.
The burg is on the green slopes of the hill which is topped by the small medieval village of Montaione, at just 1 km (half a mile) from the village.
In past ages the four buildings were used to grow the olive grove and the vineyard. They have been carefully restored and transformed into holiday homes in a way that keeps the atmosphere and the charm of the ancient Tuscan farm houses.
The walls of the houses have the warm pink and orange colors of the stone and of the terracotta, which stand against the green of the very well looked-after lawns that surround them. The lawns are broken here and there by thriving rose bushes, groups of irises and slender dark green cypresses.
From every observation point in the burg your sight will embrace a wide horizon of gentle and wavy hills, some of them decorated at the top by bunches of houses, clenched around a watch tower or a bell tower.
This is indeed the typical landscape of Tuscany , the one that, along with the inestimable artistic treasures that every corner of this land holds, has been fascinating its visitors for centuries. The sight can wander free upon one of the most beautiful and history-rich territories of Tuscany, among San Gimignano , Volterra and Florence .
A short pathway among the flowers will take you to the area where you will find a swimming pool for adults and a swimming pool for children. All around there is only vegetation, trees and view of the hills. You will also have at your disposal a shared tennis court, surrounded by the green of the meadows as well.
You will be able to buy locally olive oil and wine made by the owners, and there is also a small vegetable garden where you will be able to pick up free of charge the season produce.
The owners live on the premises, and they will be happy to answer questions and give you information.

We spent a week at Villa Leonilde with our 20 month old daughter.
The Villa is really well equipped for self catering and was nicely furnished with a proper kitchen. Having free access to the vegetable garden (which was huge and great quality) was brilliant - our daughter loved to help us pick tomatoes and aubergines and was equally happy to eat them!
We chose the villa because having a toddler we liked the idea of having a pool, but not right outside our villa, and this worked well. There's a shallow pool for kids as well as a larger adults one and these are down a hilly path from the villa. Water was freezing, but was a great facility along with the swings. We also loved having our own garden so we had plenty of private outdoor space. The bathrooms were lovely - clean and modern (with a full bath, great for young kids!), and the owners provided us with a good quality travel cot and bedding.
The villa is actually right next to what is quite a busy road and has the carpark for the complex in front of it, so it is not really a peaceful away-from-it-all spot (the other villas in the complex are further away from the road, but have less private space). The garden is open onto the carpark, walkway and other open shared areas - fine for older children and adults but not suitable for leaving younger children unattended.
The local town (Montaione) is close by and has a good supermarket, a play-park and a small number of cafes/restaurants. We liked that it was not really a tourist town so felt like a flavour of real Italy, but had all the facilities needed. We've stayed in other parts of Tuscany that are a bit more central for accessing the big cities, but there were plenty of places in easy reach for a great holiday.
