Amiata is a carefully and tastefully renovated country villa set in the most desirable location in the beautiful Val d’Orcia. Guests are accommodated in four queen bedded rooms. There are four bathrooms. The villa has been recently updated with every possible modern convenience. Amiata is part of a 15 hectare (38 acre) wine estate and is surrounded by olives groves, vineyards and oak woods. A bottle of wine and a bottle of olive oil are included in the price. It has a panoramic swimming pool and thanks to its position, it is possible to easily reach the historical center of Montalcino and the Abbey of Sant’Antimo with ten minute...s of driving.
Amiata rents from SATURDAY to SATURDAY.
From the main road an unpaved private road of about 800 meters (NOT suitable for low bottom cars) leads to the villa, therefore it is very private and quiet. It faces one of the most enchanting and expansive views of the entire Val d’Orcia. Located halfway up the hill of Castelnuovo dell’Abate, it benefits from a privileged position between the valleys of Amiata. The panoramic swimming pool directly faces the enchanting view of the Val d’Orcia and the vineyards. The wine cellar is located 500 meters from the villa and it features the best systems for the biodynamic production of Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino.
This beautiful house is located 10 km from Montalcino, where you can find groceries shops, pharmacy, post office, banks, wine shops and many delicious restaurants. In Castelnuovo dell’Abate – at 2 km - you will find a restaurant.
Amiata has a private unfenced garden. On the front side of the house is a private outdoor parking area, and in back there is a beautiful garden with a lovely view of the valley, a furnished gazebo for al fresco dining and a barbecue. The swimming pool (10 x 6 meters) features a gazebo, outdoor furnishings and another barbecue. Pool towels are included.
2013 pool dates are May 25 to September 14.
Thanks to the patient work of the owner, this characteristic Tuscan country home has been carefully restored and stylishly furnished. It still preserves its ancient charm due to the attentive and meticulous restoration work. The tasteful interiors are graceful and particular attention has been given to every detail, maintaining the original features such as beamed ceilings and cotta floors. Amiata features an unusual and innovative union between the classic beauty of the Tuscan countryside and the uniqueness of the inside.
The house is laid out on two floors, connected by a wrought iron and travertine staircase and it measures 250 square meters.
Ground floor
Entrance hall. Large open-space living room with original Tuscan terracotta tiled floors and oak-beamed with fireplace in Tuscan stone and splendid views down the valley; arch through to second living area. Dining area with a table for 10. Â A large arch of stones connects the dining room with the kitchen.
There is an open space fully equipped kitchen (gas range, dishwasher, electric oven, toaster, mixer, Italian coffee machine and American coffee machine, juice maker) with access to the garden. Â The laundry room has a washing machine.
In a more private area of the ground floor there is a study room with Internet access (see below), a SAT TV and stereo.
On this floor there is also one double bedroom with en suite one bathroom with shower.
First floor
On the first floor, there are three double rooms and three bathrooms. All the rooms have a beautiful view. One of the bedrooms has a fireplace and access to the garden through an external staircase.
On this level you find:

- One double bedroom with fireplace.
- One bathroom with tub.
Two of the bedrooms have ceiling fans. Two of the bedrooms have screens on the windows.
Facilities
Central heat, fireplace, screens on windows in two bedrooms, Satellite TV, CD Player, iPod player. There is an Internet satellite connection available, and usage is free of charge. The house is equipped with an alarm system. Three hours of maid service on Wednesday and Saturday. Bed linens are changed on Saturdays, bath linens on Wednesday and Saturday. An extra bed is not available.
Amiata is close to many very important sites of art, history and archaeology. Siena, Pienza, San Gimignano, Volterra, Cortona, Arezzo, Perugia, Orvieto, Viterbo and a myriad of other fascinating sites and places are all with in easy reach for half day or day trips. The countryside between Sarteano and Radicofani is dotted with monasteries and castles, and the Val d'Orcia itself is a spectacular natural and cultural attraction. Activities: Horse riding 20 Km; Maremma beaches 60 Km; Punta Ala Golf 60 Km; Tennis in Montalcino 12 km, wine tasting and excursions.
