Great place in front of the ocean

Left on 02/28/2013 for a stay in November 2012

My family and I had a great time at the house in La Entrada. It was my first time renting a house online so I was a bit nervous, but Gerardo was wonderful and quickly put my mind at ease. He was great at promptly responding to emails and answering all of my questions, always willing to help in any way possible so that our stay would be unforgettable.

Our family of 10 adults and 4 children arrived in late November and stayed for four days. The house was very easy to find, with easy access to the town of La Entrada. The housekeeper and his wife greeted us upon our arrival and were very friendly and incredibly helpful. The house and property were very clean and well-kept. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the outside space. My favorite thing: hammocks everywhere! It was so relaxing.

Benito's Bakery is delightful and just a 5 minute walk from the house. Montanita (a party town with good restaurants) is also very close (about a 10 minute drive). There are so many places to go for hiking and just wandering around. You can also go and get some fresh seafood at the beach bring it back to the house to make a delicious lunch or dinner. We were really happy to have found this place. My family and I always talk about the lovely time that we had there and how we would love to go back again.

Very nice home on the beach

Left on 11/06/2011 for a stay in October 2011

We spent a great week at this large and comfortable home on the beach. Gerardo met the group at the airport, arranged transportation to the house and made sure we were settled in comfortably. He helped us with every part of our trip. The home is in a good location, a short ride to Montanita yet far away enough to be quiet. It is close to a number of activities like canopy and Scuba diving. Gerardo became part of our group and made our vacation so much more enjoyable.

Gerardo made our trip extra special

Left on 11/03/2011 for a stay in October 2011

The house in LaEntrada is roomy and has a wonderful ocean view. There is plenty of space for people, with hammocks on the verandas. Gerardo made our trip extra special by acting as our guide. He is a wonderful and accommodating host. He helped with arrangements and recommendations such as scuba diving, zip lining and restaurants. It was a pleasure spending time with him.

Fabulous view, great service and charming house!

Left on 10/24/2011 for a stay in October 2011

This was a fantastic beach house for our vacation. The owner took the time to not only arrange transportation from the airport but he was there the whole process from airport to checking us into the house. He helped our group get acquainted with the area and went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay amazing! I wish we could have stayed more than a week!!! The home was charming with great views and was a wonderful location. Just minutes from Montanita but far enough away to enjoy a peaceful evening. I would recommend this rental to anyone wanting to travel to the Ecuador Coast. You will be glad you came!

      Amazing first experience in Ecuador

Left on 10/24/2011 for a stay in October 2011

A group of us, some family some friends, travel each year. We always use a vacation rental. This year 7 of us decided to visit Ecuador. As soon as I saw the listing for this house I knew it was what we were looking for. I emailed Gerardo and he responded quickly. Over the couple of months before our trip I sent him several emails with lots of questions. He responded promptly with lots of info. He arranged transportation from the airport to the house and met us at the airport. He went with us to the house and showed us around (it is an almost 3 hour drive from the airport). He spent the night nearby and the next morning showed us where to shop, taught us useful phrases and offered to help us anyway we needed. Gerardo wants to add a tour guide option for his guests and he spent most of the week "practicing" with us. He is funny, smart and great to have around. We now consider him part of our family and have extended invitations for him to visit us in the USa. If you have limited Spanish (we knew a dozen or so words), Gerardo's help will make your vacation great. The house is great. It's right on the beach, a two-minute walk from a small village. The weather was a bit cool while we were there and so we didn't use the pool. There's a great bakery in the village and a couple of small stores where you can buy the essentials. Every 15 minutes a bus comes by that can take you up or down the coast to larger towns. There aren't bus stops, you just waive the bus down and get on. It costs 40 cents and takes about 20 minutes to get to Montanita, a very "happening" town with everything. I'd highly recommend this property and Gerardo for anyone who wants to visit the Ecuadorian coast. Our group was all adults, but children would love this house. We've been gone a few days, and I miss it (and Gerardo) all ready.

      3 weeks in La Entrada

Left on 07/17/2011 for a stay in June 2011

We just spent 3 weeks at the house, 2 families with 8 people total (4 children ages 4-11), the last week we had another 7 people come visit and were still comfortable. We loved the house. La Entrada turned out to be a wonderful town and the people in the town were all very welcoming and there is a great lunch restaurant where you can get delicious fresh seafood for a couple dollars. There is a lot to do up and down the coast and it is easy to get around with the buses and taxis. It is a bit cloudy in June, but the weather and water were warm and we spent a lot of time in the pool and ocean. Don't miss out on Benito's bakery, across the street, delicious cakes and pies. We would definitely return.

Perfect House for Large Group and Ideal Setting

Left on 07/17/2011 for a stay in July 2011

We were 11 adults and 4 children and there was plenty of room for all of us and privacy, as well. The house works very well for a large, compatible group (although it could use some more pots and pans and a better coffee maker)and has a lovely setting right on the ocean. The pool is small but fine for young children. The location of the house is interesting, on the edge of the small town of La Entrada. We had privacy but felt we were in contact with the town; it was a two minute walk to pick up staples...and to a wonderful bakery. The people of the town were also very pleasant and welcoming. The one drawback was the rooster that crowed nearby too early in the morning, but by the second night, it had just become part of the background.

      Tranquility by the sea!

Left on 01/11/2011 for a stay in December 2010

The house is large and comfortable- even in our large group of 10 everyone had their own private space. It made traveling with such a large group much more relaxing.
The house is charming and rustic, and above all, relaxing. The private pool and steps down to the beach are just amazing. The public bus is very easy to use- it will pick you up right outside the house and is .25 per person to Montanita. Plan around 30 minutes to get to Montanita by bus- it is much faster on the way home.
The little town of La Entrada has stores with the basics- basic food staples and beer- what else could you need?? People in the town were very friendly. There is no aTM in La Entrada so you need to use a little forsight and planning ahead. There are atms in Montanita. The contact person for the rental is fantasic. He is very helpful and accomodating and speaks great English. I highly recommend this rental!
Although clearly not the fault of the rental, we were there in the beginning of December and did not get a single sunny day. It was plenty hot enough to swim, just not sunny.

Hands down best vacation house ever!

Left on 01/10/2011 for a stay in December 2010

Everything was easy about this vacation. Gerando answered our emals promptly and went above and beyond to help us with our very complicated plans! He arranged a van to meet us at the airport in Guyaquil. He actually came all the way to the beach to make sure we had no concerns checking in. The house is even better than the pictures! The house had more room than we even needed. We loved the pool and beachwalking. There was a bus that ran every half hour right outside the gate to take us to Montanita and it only cost 25cents! We had the housekeeper cook one meal a day for us and it was fantastic. The little town of La Entrada always had cold beer for sale. The only problem we have, is when are we going back?

Most relaxing place in all Ecuador

Left on 09/29/2010 for a stay in December 2009

Speechless is the word to describe the entire house, first you have the best beach scenario than you can have in the pacific, a sunset view in front of the house that lays the sun into the ocean horizon. The house has all the needs that you can get as first class service, transportation to the house, housekeeping, pool with its outdoor shower, whitin a few miles away you have counless of activities to do as diving, surfing, hiking trips, whale watching, and if you have needs of restaurants and night life, there a few minutes
away. The place its beyond your expectation, you wil have the time of your life.
