Monte Gordo just 3 km from Vila Real de Santo António, this former fishing village, situated between a vast pine forest and the sea was a pioneer in the exploration of tourism in the Algarve, with the construction of one of the first hotels in the region in 60 years. With an extensive and beautiful beach, mild climate and several pedestrian zones in cobblestone, Monte Gordo is one of the main tourist destinations in the Algarve.
Monte Gordo also offers apart from other beach leisure activities such as casino, and a large number of bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the Algarve cuisine, rich in fish and shellfish.
The highlight is the procession of Our Lady of Sorrows on the second Sunday of September, followed by fishing boats, meticulously decorated, all along the bay.

Een prima onderkomen met een fantastische kookgelegenheid. Wel moet men er rekening mee houden dat er geen contact is met locals. Iedereen is aan het werk.
