This cottage is really cute and cozy, and a nice place to just chill and hang out. My wife and I and our friends had a truly relaxing time away from the stresses of work and the City noise. The size of the house was great for the six of us. Although having another bathroom would make it perfect. The living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathroom were all neat and organized. The outdoor space is also amazing. Our adorable little shih tzu, Mochii also had fun running and exploring all the corners of the gated yard. The creek was an exploration adventure as well. The jacuzzi was also nice. The only thing that bummed us out was the lighting outside the yard during the nights. All the light fixtures from the front porch, master bedroom porch, and the door to the jacuzzi were all not working. Good thing there was flash light that we had used every night before we hopped in the jacuzzi. But I would suggest to the owners to have a few lighting fixtures around the railings on the porches maybe or on the fences to highlight the beauty of the yard. But overall, we had a great hang out experience during our stay. We would love to come back here again.

We has a very relaxing time. The home was comfortable and well-equipped. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and reading next to the fireplace. I will definitely come back!

We chose this vacation home for our first vacation as a family of 4. The home is newly and tastefully furnished, the grounds are beautiful and relaxing, and the jacuzzi is just spectacular. The home offers a view to a small creek and it is surrounded by giant redwoods. We were traveling with two 3-months old, so we were very relieved to find this place to be very clean, offers a pack-n-play (although I would probably wash the bedding first before using), convenient washer and dryer and a fully functional kitchen. This place also offers cable TV and internet connection, a perfect place to stay in and just relax like home away from home.

Dutch Bill Cottage is a great home to stay put and relax the length of your stay OR as a home base while to traverse the county having adventures all along the way!

We came here with my family, including two toddlers. The location is perfect for a mix of River/beach activities, cycling, exploring Occidental and other towns. The house has a lot to offer for little people -- nice yard, hammock, swing, tree house. Night time hot tub with the moon view was awesome, as well as fireplace for chilly evenings. Would definately come back.

We love Dutch Bill Cottage for folks with kids too! And it's great for folks with dogs! The fully fenced yard makes it safe for both little people and critters as well as providing privacy for guests... My dog even likes being in the tree house - it's not very high up, but it's a great platform to survey the yard and pick apples - it you're here at the right time of year!
We're so glad you had a great time and explored the area - there's always something new to try, even for locals! If you need suggestions for your next trip, just ask! I survived the zip lines in Occidental this year, so I can say with complete honesty that anyone can do it if I can - I have height "issues" and felt very secure the whole time - kudos to the guides and safety equipment!

The best thing about the yard at Dutch Bill Cottage is that it is fully fenced, which makes it a safe place for both kids and dogs to run and play to their hearts' content. So glad you enjoyed your time at the house - we look forward to you coming back!

Our family of 4 stayed at Dutch Bill Cottage for a long weekend in November. We had such a relaxing time. The home is right on Dutch Bill Creek. The kids loved going down to the river and attempting rock skipping. The house was just like the pictures. Very clean and comfortable. The hot tub was a perfect addition. We loved that we could bring our dog as well. Her and our kids loved running around the yard while we could relax on the front porch. It was just a short drive to town to get wine, cheese and crackers. I recommend Sofie's Cellars, the cheese shop in town! We're already hoping to return for another visit!

This is a wonderful home. Furnished nicely and modernized inside yet retains the charm of an older home from the outside. Wonderful Redwood trees surround the property and a small creek run along side which is fun for exploring. The wood burning fireplace is surrounded by cozy couches. Yard is nicely landscaped and maintained. Fresh herbs growing in the garden too. Hot tub is just large enough for four adults. A kayak is available for use in the basement provided you have the proper car for transporting it per the owners requests. Kitchen is modern, only lacking a dishwasher. Single bathroom only. Decks on front and back of home are great for relaxing. It's a bit tricky to find (we zoomed past it 4 times looking for it from the road). Only draw backs I would say (not at the fault of the owners) are the early checkout time which you must factor an additional 30 minutes into for returning the keys, and the high cost of the mandatory cleaning fees. We left the unit super clean. would be nice if there were two cleaning tiers. One for people who leave it a mess and one for those that leave things clean. Additionally you are required to do most of the cleaning yourself and are still charged a cleaning fee. Upon check out, empty trash, strip all beds and place linens in basement, clean all rooms and counters, wash and dry all dishes and there is still a $120 cleaning fee. Other than that, it's a great place.

Thank you for reviewing Dutch Bill Cottage! We think it's a great house! We've learned by experience that homes can be tough to find in this area and have written very specific instructions for getting to the home from our office. GPS and online mapping sites, just don't know the area well enough!
We ask guests to depart from the house at noon and return keys after that - I'm sorry if it wasn't clear in our paperwork that the keys don't have to be at the office by noon. And, fortunately, we pay our cleaners our cleaners to thoroughly disinfect all the surfaces and clean between guests. I agree with most of the check out notes listed by the guest... We ask folks to strip sheets off the beds, start a load of towels in the laundry, wash dishes and clean up any messes made during their stay. We love guests that go above and beyond!

I really enjoyed my stay at Dutch Bill Creek. The cabin has been recently renovated and everything was in top condition. Also, the game closet was stocked with fun things for our 4 year old. The yard was safe and enclosed so we didn't have to worry about letting her go outside by herself. The hot tub was clean and new as well. We were not far from the River and all amenities.

This vacation rental was a wonderful combination of comfort and a getaway from hustle and bustle. Set amidst towering redwoods and douglas fir in the heart of the Russian River Valley, you really feel as if you are a world away from the city. However, the house is within easy driving distance of many attractions. World class wineries, restaurants, and stunning scenery are close by. San Francisco and Point Reyes are also an easy drive away. The house itself contains everything you need; in fact if there weren't so many activities to do in the area, it would be tempting to stay in all the time. The inside is furnished with comfortable and stylish sofas and beds. A full kitchen makes cooking in a treat, and there is a gas grill if you want to grill. The enclosed yard features a variety of colorful plants and a garden that you can even pick fresh lettuce and other vegetables to eat. There is also a hot tub that's a pleasure in the evenings. All in all, this vacation house was everything you could want for a relaxing getaway, or as a jumping off point for the many things to do in the area. We would definitely return, and recommend to anyone.

My best friend and I were in desperate need of a relaxing vacation, when a friend told us about this cottage. It is in such a beautiful, peaceful place. Everyone we met was very friendly and there were so many things to see and do. The ocean, the Redwood Forest,
wineries everywhere. The cottage itself is just a very cozy and comfortable place. It is very family friendly and clean.
