This home is right on the Russian River in a clearing of the redwood forest in Sonoma County - in a dream setting with drop-dead views, sun, meadows, lawn, giant redwoods, ornamental, fruit trees, gardens, roses, flowers galore... you won't believe the flowers, wildlife, a multitude of birds (ospreys, blue herons, hawks, pelicans, hummingbirds, robins, flickers) and the only pesky bugs are the many butterflies. This riverfront, custom, fully-equipped redwood and glass 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bath home sleeps 8. Dock & four 2-person kayaks included. The house is luxuriously furnished including Large Hot Tub, skylights, sofa sectionals and comfortable seating to lounge comfortably by the fireplace.

The living area has a vaulted ceiling and home theatre system with 47" LED Blue Ray digital cable TV (most premium channels) and DVD/CD. A desk with high speed broadband Internet access is included. There is a large dining table inside and furniture outdoors as well. The large, sunny redwood decks have a large luxurious outdoor living room set with seating for all, a large octagonal dining table, an outdoor river front view bar plus a fountain, many flowers, and a charcoal grill. The master bedroom suite has a private separate parlor/ sitting room with gas wood stove, waterfall, 3 skylights, it's own private deck overlooking a redwood grove and a full bathroom. A 32" LCD DVD digital cable TV is also found in the master suite along with an electric fireplace in the bedroom itself. The 2nd bedroom has a 23" LCD DVD digital cable TV and another electric fireplace. The master has a queen bed, second bedroom has a queen, third bedroom has 2 twins and 4th sleeping room located above 1.5 bathrooms has a queen bed. All beds are in great condition for a restful night's sleep. 3 bedrooms have entry doors direct to baths. Large skylights make this home bright and cheery by day and a stargazer's delight by night! And there's a spectacular view of the riverfront, trees, lawn, and gardens through a wall of glass from the living and dining areas.

All bedrooms have lovely furnishings and linens, bathroom access, individual heaters and thermostats, skylights, large closets with generous shelves, chairs, and tables. Beds have blankets, pillows and bedspreads. Linens and towels are included. The living areas are brightened by two large skylights for nighttime stargazing framed by 200 foot high redwoods! The living, dining and kitchen have full-length river view and fireplace. Gourmet kitchen has a convection oven, (there's a charcoal grill on the deck), professional 5 burner gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, crock pot, comprehensive array of kitchen implements, Fiesta ware service for all x 2, and complete cookware. The home also has a large clothes washer and dryer. A small grocery store and free public tennis courts are just one-quarter mile (five minute) walk. The large free public beach with water sport rentals is an 8 minute walk. A large 24 hour supermarket is an 8 minute drive. There are three great restaurants within 10 minutes' walk.

  Extremely well appointed holiday accommodation, stunning views across the valley and down the river. We enjoyed having the kayaks at our diposal and made use of them at some point every day. The hot tub was fab too. The setting was very peaceful and the hummingbirds which visited the decking area were amazing to watch. We found the locals to be very friendly. The only 2 slight negatives were that the property is quite remote making it quite a drive to get to many of the touristy places we wanted to visit - but the positive of that is we probably saw a lot of extra stuff we wouldnt have otherwise come across. And the second slight disappointment about the accommodation itself is that is wasnt really suitable for 3 couples - yes there were enough beds, but not really enough bedrooms with double beds - this could be made slightly clearer on the property info. I don't want to dwell on that too much though as all in all it was lovely!
  If you are looking for a peaceful, escape the rat-race type holiday you can't go far wrong with this place.

  Thank you for your review. We're glad you had such a nice stay and enjoyed all the lovely aspects of our home and some of the area.
  Coming from overseas we can see how you may not have known of all the close by attractions and we're glad you were able to experience some if not all of them. It's 15 minutes or less to many top notch wineries and restaurants, right on the Russian River with the many activities that offers and in the Giant Redwoods. And just 15 minutes to spectacular Pacific coast beaches. There are a half dozen scenic villages within 10 miles which each offer fine dining and shopping. If you meant "quite remote" from San Francisco it's 1 hr 40 minutes drive, from Napa Valley it's one hour.
  
  Two bedrooms as well as the loft all have queen beds (the loft has 2 queens). The other bedroom has two twins. This is also in the listing. Thanks for the feedback-- we are going to switch out one of the twin beds with a larger bed for even more flexibility.

  Our (extended) family came up for a 4 day wine, dine, and river get away. We had a large get-together at the terrific Monte Rio Community Center mrrpd.org right across the river and highly recommend that for big group functions-- a very nice new facility. The house was very clean and welcoming, quite beautiful and the views are very nice. The deck is outstanding and has many places to sit and relax. We saw so many kinds of birds. It was the perfect setting for all of us to re-connect. We had a great time visiting wineries on Westside Rd. and took a day trip on highway 128. The house was very well appointed and the 4 double kayaks allowed us to do a lot of adventuring and sightseeing along the river. Thanks again for a great stay! Hope to stay longer next time!

  Great stay! Easy from inquiry to check in to a great stay to check out. Lots of info made everything smooth. Home was very clean and had extra amenities not mentioned. Setting is fabulous. The 6 of us each had our own bed. The 3 1/2 baths made getting ready in the morning a snap. Beautiful scenery all around...giant redwoods, cute nearby villages, great restaurants, beaches, hiking, etc. Loved applewood, Boon, and Garden Grill for great eats. Will be back as soon as we can!
