Description from the owner

The property belongs to the descendants of a noble family of the place, the owner of the largest bell foundry of the period since 1700 (figures in their production, among others, The bell of the Lauds of Assisi). The house has an area of 500 square meters, plus a large terrace of 200 sqm and a large garage. The building, whose original structure dates from the middle of 1700, fully retains all the frescoes and original period details, like the old terracotta floors waxed, interior doors, walls painted in the colors of the area, which have been carefully preserved and restored in 2007. Photos of the house are also present on the site of "March...Read more

    Additional Location Information

Montedinove is a small picturesque village of medieval origin located on the top - 561 meters above sea level - of a chain of low hills, in the middle of the fertile valleys of the “Aso” and “Tesino”, which goes from the feet of “Monte Ascensione” stretching to the Adriatic sea. Its beautiful panoramic views range from the “Adriatico” sea to the “Sibillini” mountains. All around other splendid villages, typical of Marche region. Montedinove’s origins date back to ancient times and the old town is fascinating thanks to its beautiful architecture and the narrow medieval streets. There are also evident ruins of ancient fortifications and in particular of the entrance gates to the village. The seashore (Grottammare, San Benedetto del Tronto) and its beautiful sandy beaches perfectly equipped can be easly reached in less than half an hour from Montedinove. Equally near is the city of Ascoli Piceno with remarkable Romanesque and Gothic monuments, rich of medieval towers and with one of the most beautiful squares in Italy. Of a great interest are, also, the near Sibillini Mountains, a 70,000 hectares spectacular area established as a National Park in 1993. All the areas of the Sibillini National Park offer unforgettable surprising and amazing landscapes and views. All around several mountain relieves above 2000 m. among which “Monte Vettore” with the Pilato’s Lake; this small and beautiful basin lake is famous not only for its beauty but also for being the home of the chirocefalo del Marchesoni, miniscule crustacean that has survived from the Glacial Period adapting to the various climatic changes that have occurred.
Not far away is Mount Sibilla (“Monte Sibilla”) home of Alcina, a legendary sorceress mentioned in the works of Antoine De La Sale.
Last but not least, "shopaholics" can make the most of the nearby fabulous factory outlet of famous brands based in the area such as Tod's, Nero Giardini, Hogan, Prada and many others.
The historical and artistic beauty, the proximity of the beautiful beaches of San Benedetto del Tronto and legendary Monti Sibillini, the warmth and tranquility of the place, make Montedinove the "Buen Retiro" desired by each of us.

      Amazing!

Left on 07/04/2012 for a stay in May 2012

We had heard about Montedinove from friends of friends and since were going in the area decided to give it a try.
It was a very nice surprise and the place exceeded our expectations. It is like being sent back in the past to a simpler yet at the same time more elegant way of life.
The house is beautiful, very large and spacious with amazing antique furniture. A large family or group of friends could stay there comfortably. The village is very nice and the view is stunning. Clearly it's not a place for those looking for discos and a lot of night entertainment as the village is very quiet (although sea villages and towns are not far away) but ideal for a relaxing holiday. Particularly foreigners looking for a break with a lot of character, Italian flavour and elegance will not be disappointed.

      A wonderful holiday

Left on 06/07/2012 for a stay in May 2012

I spent a week in this lovely bulding this year, at the beginning of May, with a group of friends visiting from UK. I originally intended to bring them to Tuscany but then I opted for Marche, a less known but equally beautiful region.
We had a lovely time and all of my friends were enthusiastic about the building and the surroundings.
The house is in the heart of Montedinove, a medioeval borgo, and it has been recently restored in respect of its original style but - at the same time - it is functional and equipped with all modern facilities. Each room has a private bathroom and the privacy is definitely safe.

My friends loved the splendid terrace that overlooks the surroundings. We often decided to stay at home and made the most of that instead of going out. It is definitely a very romantic place.

The owner was very kind and the communication for all the organizational stuff was very ok.
      Highly recommended!
