Description from the manager
Casalino is a fine farmhouse a few kms from the castle of Monteriggioni, less than twenty minutes from Siena. Sitting easily in its beautiful countryside, this large stone farmhouse has been lovingly restored, conserving all the features that give it its special character, including the gated courtyard. Stone walls show traces of history in the hint of a Romanesque window here or a stone lintel there. The permanent home of a Sienese doctor and his family, they have made two apartments to let: Porcile, in the former pigsty, and Gatto, on the ground floor of the main farmhouse. They have dedicated the same care and attention to quality and deta...Read more

Kings HillWonderful Place to Stay
Left on 09/28/2011 for a stay in August 2011
What a beautiful place! We spent a week here in august 2011 and it just wasn't long enough. The villa was lovely. Very spacious and well equipped. We were greeted on arrival by the owners, who are so helpful. We were very well looked after and often found ourselves being presented with baskets of fresh tomatoes & basil picked from their garden. The villa has use of a private terrace which is not overlooked and leads out to a garden area complete with small swing & slide for little ones.
The pool has to be one of the nicest I have ever enjoyed spending time lazing next to! I would point out that it is very deep, but there are large steps at one end making it suitable for less confident swimmers. However I would be mindful with very young children. Our son is 14 and never tired of jumping in!
The villa is well placed for visiting both Florence & Siena with the main link road between the two a short drive away. The walled town of Monteriggioni is about 10 mins drive and well worth a visit. If you have kids who like their Playstation's and have the game 'Assassins Creed' they will tell you this is were the 2nd game is based. Best way to get teenagers sightseeing (and you out for lunch!).
There is a well stocked supermarket approx 5 mins drive away and 2 minutes down the road is a local pizzeria for when you don't feel like cooking!
This was our first visit to Italy, and definitely won't be our last. Hubby & Son described the week spent here as 'awesome', 'amazing' & 'totally brilliant'. I would call it 'a little slice of heaven'.
We will definitely stay here again.

Hosts were very warm and welcoming, regularly providing us with vegetables and hers from the garden.
The pool area was second to none and the accommodation was spacious and well proportioned.

Toronto, CanadaA delightful home base from which to explore beautiful Tuscany
Left on 10/11/2010 for a stay in September 2010
A comfortable villa that became our home away from home. Jeremy and Laura were helpful and welcoming. The villa was spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool was secluded and well kept. Leo the cat became a good friend and Helga the Labrador was great fun. The fresh vegetables and herbs plus grapes were simply fabulous. All in all a wonderful spot and experience. We highly recommend it to all. The Blackburn,s and Pasquini,s from Toronto, Canada.

Please see the review of Porcile, which we rented at the same time for our family group. The dog isues are dealt with there!
Il Gatto was a lovely big property with more than enough room for four and it was great to have separate bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen.
Lots of room to sit around inside and outside and a good property for family groups - son, daughter in law and new baby had adjoining property, Porcile, which gave them privacy but was convenient for family meals etc.
Convenient location. but close to motorway ,and traffic noise is quite audible, so not entirely tranquil.Response from Invitation to Tuscany Ltd - 03/05/2010

The Labrador was a puppy last year (2009) - she is much quieter now, has been trained and the owner has said she is happy to keep her in their courtyard if guests find her a nuisance. She loves being around people but can be kept in if not wanted!

Birmingham, UKThe best holiday we have had in Italy !
Left on 11/18/2009 for a stay in August 2009
We had the most wonderful time at Il Gatto.
The apartment was absolutely superb with everything you could want to make it as comfortable as possible and the surroundings were just magnificent !! The pool was unbelievable !!!!!
The village of Monterriggioni is such a pretty place and well worth a vist.
You are central to many places to visit and the most glorious eateries ranging from the local Osteria to full blown 5* restaurants.
The Doctor and his wife were wonderful hosts who brought us little treats from their farm throughout the two weeks. They really made us feel extremely welcome.
This was a very special holiday for us as we took my parents for a last look around Tuscany. We have been away with them to Italy many times before and it holds very special memories for us.
We would most definitely recommend this vacation home to anyone and everyone !!
