Spend a leisurely holiday in Tuscany at this farmhouse villa rental. On an estate that includes formal Italian gardens and over 500 acres of grounds, you will have plenty of space, including your own wonderful sun terrace! Within easy day-trip distance of Siena and Florence, not to mention little villages like Monteriggioni, this farmhouse in Tuscany provides you with endless opportunities for sightseeing. Of course you can also stay home to relax at this Chianti Tuscany farmhouse, or even take a class in traditional Italian cooking!

[250 hectares] This property in Tuscany, which has been owned by the same family since the 17th century,... is part of a 13th century hamlet that includes an old farmhouse, wine cellars, olive oil mills, a carpenter shop, a small church, and stables. The property contains vineyards that produce a wonderful Chianti Classico, olive trees [which produce a tasty extra virgin olive oil], hay fields, and woods. The estate offers a view of rolling hills, the walled town of Monteriggioni, and in the distance, the towers of San Gimignano. Huge cypress trees line the unpaved, 500 meter driveway to the estate entrance.

The house is a spacious, rustic country home, independent from the villa, with a shared infinity-edge swimming pool [15m x 7m] and a garden area overlooking the vineyards. A large fig tree provides shade. There is a barbecue area and a table for outdoor dining [seats 12 people], as well as other garden furniture. The friendly and hospitable owners live on the third floor of the villa, and the guardians, as well as other farmers, live on the estate. The owners' dogs have their own enclosed garden; however, they can be heard during their daily walks on the property!

Besides this farmhouse [which can accommodate 12 people], there are other properties available for rent on the same Tuscan estate. There is a villa [sleeps eight] and another farmhouse [sleeps 12, or two units that sleep four and eight]. The entire estate can accommodate a total of 32 people. There is ample room for parking on the property. Overall, the house is a perfect retreat for family farmhouse vacations in Italy.

[250 m2] The house is furnished with simple antique furniture, terra cotta floors, wooden beamed ceilings, and whitewashed walls. All of the windows provide wonderful views.

Ground floor: This floor has a storage room with a washing machine.

First floor: On the first floor, there are two comfortable sitting rooms with satellite TV and stereo, a dining room that seats twelve people, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom [with shower and tub].

Second floor: On the top floor, there are three double bedrooms, each with two twin beds. There are three more double bedrooms, each with a canopied double bed. There are also three bathrooms with showers.

The house is located on the top of a hill, facing the walled, medieval town of Monteriggioni. By car the small walled town is two kilometers away. It takes about 40 minutes to walk through the fields to reach Monteriggioni, where there are restaurants, a supermarket, a pharmacy, a gas station, and a church. There is a bus stop one kilometer away.

Castellina Scalo: 4 km

Monteriggioni: 2 km

Available Amenities: Shared swimming pool [open May 1st – mid October], parking, orthopedic mattresses, baby bed, high chair, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, barbecue, satellite TV, telephone, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, filter/Italian coffee pots, heating [independent by floor], table tennis, bocce court, archery range. Every Saturday, the bedrooms and bathrooms are cleaned, and the linens and towels are changed.

Extra Services: Additional cleaning is available at €10/hour. Cooking lessons are also available [€100/person; minimum four people, maximum six]. Dinner services [€45/person; minimum six people; wine not included in price] are available. All extra services must be requested at the time of booking.

  Amazing!
  
  I loved the house and the pool, but the best thing about this property was having the owners right next door. They were so helpful with restaurant recommendations, train bus schedules, museum reservations, area information, etc., etc.... and they were a joy to talk to!

  We felt like we were at home - we could look forward to gathering by the pool each evening and talking about our day. Not at all like a hotel experience.
  
  The owners-property managers were absolutely wonderful. They couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They felt like family by the end of the week.
  
  One of the showers didn't work too well - no big deal.
  
  It was just beautiful countryside.

  We were very,very satisfied. If we do this again, we won't bother looking for another villa. we'll definitely go back to this one.

  We can't wait to return!
  
  The property was absolutely beautiful. The views were incredible and the location was very convenient for day trips and for getting food. We cooked several meals for 23 people in one of the kitchens and it was very well equipped for our needs. We had our wedding in the garden followed by an unbelievable meal catered by a local chef. It was definitely something that we all will remember for the rest of our lives.

  Picturesque Tuscan countryside, olive trees, vineyards, cypress trees. It was very accessible by car. Many of the guests simply took a taxi from the Siena train station.

  Utterly fantastic!!
  
  The location was out of this world. Gorgeous views and the property had so much history. I could not recommend a better place to spend a week or more. Also, the property owners were very accommodating and helpful.

  Go! It is a beautiful villa with surrounding adventure. Having a base camp was easy for day traveling, but it could be a quiet retreat if that's what you want. We stayed one week and felt a few more days would have been better. A reason to go back. The villa is very safe, if older kids wanted to stay behide for the day. There is a pool, ping-pong table, or sleeping for those who need a quiet day away from family, either parents or kids. We traveled with another family of 5, 3 teenagers as well. They stayed in the main villa, so it was very easy to meet up. The family that owns the villa is very kind and would do anything to help us. I would most definitely like to go back!
  
  We felt very welcomed at La Casa. It is a family owned and run villa, which includes their daily life. Our family of 5 felt very comfortable walking around the villa to visit another family on the estate that we were traveling with. Sharing the entire villa with another family was perfect. Our teenagers were comfortable.
  
  The owner has large dogs. They were friendly for the most part.
  
  Traveling to the many little hill towns. One week was not enough time, but a good start.
