Description from the owner
Authentic traditional Ligurian apartment in the heart of Monterosso.
Luxury, comforts and tradition in a charming apartment.
In the very heart of the ancient part of the village of Monterosso, in the original nucleus and most typical area called Buranco, we find this typical apartment that develops on 2 levels, going up unwinding on stairs.
Entrance is from a small green wooden door under a stone porch, where most of the openings are occupied by old private cellars where vineyard and fishing tools mingles, witnessing the true essence of this land: sea and land joined together in the life of its inhabitants.

Ely, United KingdomPerfect location for enjoying Monterosso and relaxing with famil

This was our second stay at Levre di Cuppi. Our entire experience was excellent. The apartment is in the best location in the Old Town. As long as you do not mind walking up and down the stairs, you have a huge apartment, with balcony and great views. Once you are upstairs it is peaceful and comfortable. Our two children enjoyed the spacious apartment. We were all able to relax and enjoy it. Easy walk to the train station, the new town, all of the fabulous shops and restaurants. Miriana was very nice and easy to work with! She met us personally and answered our questions. We will definitely return in the future!

Filippo was so kind to meet us at the train station and help us with the extra luggage we acquired during our stay in Italy. I did not welcome the 4 flights of steps each day, but the apartment was clean, stocked and comfortable. The tub took some getting use to.
We enjoyed the neighborhood so much. Loved the ability to explore Cinque Terre all day and come home to a welcoming apartment at night. -

If you want to stay in a local home that is charming, quaint, and right in the heart of the little village - this is your place! It has all the basic necessities plus a great little terrace to enjoy day or night. Recommended for those that are not interested in the touristy hotels and want to experience the simple local flavor. Perfect for a couple but also has an additional bedroom in the loft so can sleep 4 in total. We were 2 couples and found this to be the perfect spot. We felt it was the best village in Cinque Terre as well. Enjoy the simplicity and charm! We sure did!

Chapel Hill, NCGreat in cool weather- unlivable in temps over 80 degrees. Spaci

This could have been a wonderful apartment in cooler weather - spacious & clean, with simple furnishings in a great location in center of old town (no water views), roomy bedrooms, kitchen and patio great assets. However, it was over 95 F when we were there & the upstairs BR became as hot as a sauna (top of 4 story stone bldg that absorbed the heat) and was uninhabitable, as was the entire apartment between ~ noon & ~10 PM. The portable ac's cool air fell through the open stairwell to the entry & was no help to the rest of the apt; fan blew 100 degree air until several hours after dark. Although Ctr's Miriana was helpful with booking, and Filippo helpful with initial check-in and delayed fans, lack of additional help from mgmt made it more difficult. They were unavailable by phone or text after 5 PM, and this followed several 2-3 day delays in email responses re booking. They also "lost" our reservation and payment info at one point. They did provide a second fan on day 2 afternoon & returned an insignificant portion of the rent that did not correspond to the loss of 1/3 of the living space, plus 12 hours/day of an unlivable rental. Could be a good place to stay if you are going in cooler weather and don't mind delayed emails about booking and zero assistance during your stay.

Toronto, CanadaExcellent Old Town Monterosso apartment

Extra special place in an extra special region. Perfectly nestled in the Old portion of Monterosso. Two minute walk to the beach, 5 minute walk to Buranco wine vineyard. Fabulous wine bar downstairs, and a Conad market also right out the front door of the apartment. The caretaker Filippo met us at the train station and walked us right to the flat. The patio was perfect and everything about the place was wonderful. Would no doubt stay there again!!

Greensboro, North CarolinaGreat location! Charming owner! Be ready for steep steps!
Left on 05/19/2011 for a stay in September 2010
This is such a special place--- would definitely stay there again. The only warning I would have is that there are several flights of steep winding steps to climb to reach the apartment- at night they are not brightly lit. With suitcases in tow, these steps are a challenge. But we made the best of it and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My family of 4 enjoyed this apartment and loved Monterosso. Well equipped kitchen, perfect location, comfortable apartment. The stair climb is trying with luggage. We loved the terrace and ate dinner outside a few nights, listening to the sounds of the village and smelling the incredible wafts from the restaurants.
Good experience arranging the accommodations too.Response from Cinque Terre Riviera - 09/08/2010

The apartment is lovely, but still needed some basic, e.g., a cutting board, a couple more lamps, and maybe a fan.

Actually, property had been just opened and we acknowledge some missing details
We have improved this property and will continue to do so by adding cutting board and other kitchen items plus air conditioning system
I see that you also disagree on agency service from your evaluation stars, can you please clarify this to me so to improve in the future
Thanks a lot
