Beautiful castle dating back to the year 1000 and restored in 1600 by a noble family, with a magnificent tower built in the same architectural style as that of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. The castle has recently been transformed into a cozy tourist residence run by the present owner. The castle is located in the municipal jurisdiction of Montespertoli in a vast farm estate with vineyards and olive groves. Peaceful and panoramic position. We had a very pleasant stay and would recommend the property.
The location and the castle itself.
Two things: (1) Our bedroom window did not have a screen. We requested one the second day we were there and the staff told us a repair man would be coming the next day. However, we never received a screen. As a result, our sleeping conditions were uncomfortable and our baby received over 15 mosquito bites. (2) The steep circular stair to access the kitchens and bedrooms was very charming, but was also dangerous for young children. We constantly had to watch the children on the stairs. I wish this would have been mentioned in the description of the property.
We enjoyed watching the grape harvest and wine processing.
