Casa Sarandi Loft is located in Montevideo's Old City –called Ciudad Vieja in Spanish– of Montevideo, one of South America's most charming and historic neighborhoods, the heart of Montevideo's artistic and intellectual life since the 1800s.
This stunning completely-renovated loft takes up the entire first floor of an art-deco building and overlooks the Old City's main pedestrian street. The loft is one short block from the Colonial square and three blocks from the River Plate. Montevideo's oldest theatre, the Teatro Solis is two minutes walk away.

Casa Sarandi Loft is located in Montevideo's Old City –called Ciudad Vieja in Spanish– of Montevideo, one of South America's most charming and historic neighborhoods, the heart of Montevideo's artistic and intellectual life since the 1800s.
The loft is walking distance from the Colonial Square, the Cathedral, the Solis Theatre (Montevideo's oldest and grandest) and the Port Market (The Guardian called it "Disneyland for carnivores"), the Carnival Museum (Uruguay has the world's longest carnival lasting 40 nights) and tens of other attractions.
It is also surrounded by restaurants and entertainment spots (from cafe concerts to tango boliches to gorgeous bookshops). The managers Karen and Sergio specialise in giving tips and advice about what to do, and especially music shows.

Estuvimos con mi novio una semana en Montevideo. Fueron ocho noches en este espectacular Loft. Ya conocÃamos la Ciudad, pero esta vez, con los consejos de Karen y Sergio, pudimos conocerla mas a fondo y hasta tentarnos con la idea de vivir allÃ. La atención de Karen y Segio fue sobresaliente, la confianza y tranquilidad que nos brindaron fue algo inusual. En cuanto a las instalaciones del Loft, es un lugar muy agradable, con todo lo necesario no solo para descansar, sino también, para pasar una tarde leyendo, escuchando música y charlando tomando unos mates! Ubicado además en una zona con mucha accesibilidad al resto de la ciudad, ya sea en taxi o en colectivo. Lo que mas nos gustó fue el edificio y las caracterÃsticas del Loft (sus dimensiones y su decoración), pero creo que serÃa bueno incorporar una pequeña cocina donde poder preparar algunas comidas. Muchas gracias por todo. Esperamos volver a la Casa Sarandà pronto!

We stayed in Montevideo over the weekend for three nights in November 2012 and loved staying at Casa Sarandi with our two children. The loft is wonderful and so central, we didn't want to leave! Karen was so welcoming and helpful and gave us some fantastic tips for things to do and see and places to eat, which were all excellent. I could not recommend Casa Sarandi more, and if you are in Montevideo you must stay here.

Our family of 4 stayed at the loft in august 2012. First, Karen and Sergio were terrific -- gave us lots of good tips on places to go, were very responsive when we had a little plumbing challenge, and helped us arrange transportation to/from the airport. Second, the location was great. We walked to everything. Third, the space worked really well -- kids on the sofa bed, parents in the bed. Loved the wide-open floor plan. One note, the kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, sink, but no stove or oven. You can warm up your carry-out empanadas but not cook seriously. No matter, loads of great restaurants in the area.
We loved meeting Karen and Sergio, they were so welcoming. We felt at home right away.Response from Karen Higgs - 12/14/2012
