Excellent place for those who love Nature and serenity. Very quiet, lots of birds and wildlife around, at a remote 100-acre Christmas tree farm estate. Fantastic views, excellent location at Seneca Lake shores. You must have a car to stay there. Watkins Glen State Park with its amazing gorges is within 5 min drive from the place. Same as the world famous Watkins Glen Race Track, for those who loves cars and history of car racing. The host, Mr Stevenson, is a wonderful and caring person. We were happy there, and would come back without doubt.

Two years in a row, we have stayed at the artist retreat in Montour Falls. It is a wonderful place to get away to, to relax and paint. The town is lovely and quaint...everybody is so friendly. The scenery (rolling hills and finger lakes) are beautiful. This is one of our favorite places to visit.
Joe is very personable and hospitable.
A definite bonus is that my sister (in a wheelchair) is able to get around the apartment easily. -

This wasn't the Ritz by any means but it was a wonderful place to come home to after spending the day exploring Watkins Glen. Mr Stevenson is a very pleasant host and his artwork abounds in the lovely carraige house accommodations. We enjoyed sipping our wine on the deck at night and catching the smell of the pines from the Christmas trees that highlight the majority of the acreage. There is no room service, busy lobby or noisy neighbors in the room next door and that was just fine with us! We hope to stay here again, maybe when the weather turns chilly so we can use the beautiful woodburning stove.

The Finger Lakes art Retreat is very special. The guestroom for my husband and I was perfect. There is also a loft bedroom. Next door is the art studio - filled with lovely pieces done by the owner - and I was sorry I didn't bring my paints! The property is located on a Christmas tree farm and is very serene. I had coffee on the deck every morning, listening to the birds. Our host, Joe, is such a wonderful person. He made us feel right at home. Being located in Montour Falls, just a short hop to Seneca or Cayuga lakes, was perfect. All the proximity, but without rowdy "wine-trailers"! I am already planning a return in the fall. Thnx Joe!

Mr Stevensons retreat couldn't be a more lovely location. It sits on top of the hill in Montour Falls, surrounded by acres of lovely Christmas trees. The peacefulness and serenity of this spot makes it one of our favorite stops of the year. Mr Stevenson is a true "gentleman's gentleman".

Joe provided a country apartment fully furnished with a beautiful view of his Christmas tree farm, lots of beautiful walking areas, and nearby village for shopping, minutes driving time to Watkins Glen and the Grand Prix race track. Couldn't be a more beautiful spot in Upstate New York. Joe is a gracious host. We Thank him and would stay again...The Chapman's

We had a delightful experience at Mr. Stevenson's rental apartment. It's close to the town but rural enough to be completely quiet. The apartment is in the carriage house and has its own private entrance off the large back-topped driveway/parking area, overlooking the great tennis court in the lower yard. There are beautiful pine trees all around the property and a lovely pond that we could have had a swim in if we'd had the time; several times we saw deer up close in the back of the carriage house where we sat on the private deck for our morning coffee. I'd love to live here year-round and Mr. Stevenson, himself, couldn't be a nicer host. We can honestly say we've never had such a nice experience for such a low price in all of our years of traveling around this country. It will be fun to come back when the weather is colder to use the antique pot-belly wood stove in the main room of the apartment...and we are already planning a return trip !
