Staying in Le St Laurent was super easy and convenient--Frederique and I communicated via text message, and we had no problems. The apartment was lovely and well located in the city, close to the metro and in walking distance from the Old Port and City. I would highly recommend the apartment...the only downside is parking, which cost us $15 a day. You can park on the street for free a block down, but it's difficult and confusing.

Booked 3 apartments for a reunion, and couldn't have asked for a better experience. I have booked many apartments before and this ones were by far the best ones I've ever had. All of the conveniences and kitchen supplies you could need, amazing location, and the responses from the hosts within minutes! Fantastic experience!!!

The apartment was beyond brilliant, and Joanna was really helpful and was an excellent hostess
There were 6 of us and nobody had any complaints about our living situation. The beds were all very comfortable, the kitchen an absolute joy to cook in and the apartment itself was very hospitable and cosy. Checking in was a breeze and we settled in just as easily. The apartment was very clean and well kept, I wish my home were as refreshing and well kept! There are washers and dryers available, all the necessities for cooking and dining in the kitchen, television and internet, and the bathroom was perfect for our needs.
The apartments location is, if not near, perfect. Just a minutes walk away from a very main metro station located next to the village (a very happening place at night and has an excellent grocery store), a pleasant short walk to St.Denis which was our favourite part of Montreal, and an even shorter walk into old town. Riding the metro for no more than a few minutes will get you into downtown and Mcgill, so the apartment really is in an ideal location.
Joanna was an absolute delight and we couldn't have asked for a better hostess. She left a very handy list of excellent things to do, was really friendly and professional, and even let us park in her lot when there was a snow storm.
I strongly recommend this apartment, it is definitely one of the best (if not the best) options for visitors -

Berlin, GermanyThe ideal apartment for a couple in Montreal
Left on 03/13/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We had a truly excellent experience with this apartment. The location was the most central place imaginable, less than 5 minutes walk to three metro lines and easily accessible to all of Montreal interesting central neighborhoods. The hosts were exceptionally helpful, supplying a wealth of useful information about the city and making it easy to check in even after a late night arrival. The flat itself is amazing - spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated and warm (very important in Canadian winter). We especially enjoyed the very thoughtfully stocked kitchen, which seemed brand new. These hosts have really thought of everything a guest would want to feel right at home.

We had a great experience at this place. The room is clean and comfortable and it is just just down the block from a main metro stop. There are lots of restaurants and bars on St. Denis, just a few blocks away. Joanna was very helpful, and the whole process of renting went smoothly.

GTAGem in the heart of the city
Left on 03/11/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Joanna initially booked our stay. She was incredibly prompt and attentive. Any question or concern was answered with much reassurance. And given our distance, it was done professionally all within email. She gave many suggestions on what to do in the area and often asked what to do to make our arrival more comfortable. Arriving in Montreal, Joanna was on mat leave, so we had the privilege to connect with Frederique. Although we only got to meet by phone, the same kind and attentive service was received. It was such a personal touch to be greeted and welcomed. Despite my numerous questions, not once did we feel like we were imposing. It truly was like visiting very good friends!
The apartment was received beyond our expectations! Despite being in an older building, it was surprisingly clean and modern! Pardon the cliche, but it felt like "home away from home"! Kitchen was well stocked with necessities. Linens were clean and carefully put in place. Unfortunately, since we arrived on the coldest week of the month, we could not enjoy the courtyard in the back. The bonus was having laundry available in the building!
It is a downtown location, so parking was probably our only concern. Yet, Joanna/ Frederique were thorough and cognizant to provide details regarding parking in the area. Despite paying on the street, cost was minimal (especially in a city centre) compared to garages or hotel parking. We made good use of the depaneur next door and was within walking distance of ++shopping and restaurants. We loved the proximity to Old Montreal and public transit, which is a very short walk. I felt very safe with my children in the area.
Using Flipkey for the first time, Joanna/ Frederique did not disappoint. Our 1 week stays are often in hotels. My older daughter was skeptical at the new idea, but after day 1 she loved all the space and "luxury" of home living. We plan to return this summer and certainly hope a room is available for us to enjoy again - many thanks!!! -

The apartment was perfect for our stay in Montreal. It is very clean, modern and well equiped and in a perfect location for visiting the main tourist sites in Montreal. Joanna delivered an excellent service replying to emails very promptly and answering clearly all questions.
I would highly recommend a stay at this apartement. -

Baltimore, Maryland, USAWe enjoyed the apartment in every way!
Left on 11/04/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Apt # 1 was well described as it was very roomy with lots of space in the 3 rooms. The kitchen is very well equipped allowing one to fill up the dishwasher by having adequate numbers of plates, cups etc. for several days before needing to run the dishwasher. Having the clothes washer and dryer complimentary and right next door down the hall was very helpful towards the end of our stay.
The location was also accurately described being within walking distance of the Vieux Quartier and 5 minutes from the key metro stop where 4 lines cross/intersect so that one can easily get to the museum section.
It was also well located for food purchasing with a charmingly-staffed depanner(7-11 for us folks) and a supermarket about 10 minutes away (2 blocks from the metro station).
The apartment was very clean, the TV had lostsa channels and Joanna< although we never met her, was easily available by email and phone and her handbook to the apartment and the city was admirable; something every Trip adviser renter should attempt. Fantastic job, Joanna!!

Joanna's apartment is perfectly situated in terms of exploring all that Montreal has to offer--the Plateau, Old Montreal and the Downtown core.
The place has clearly recently been re-modeled, is clean, and is truly an amazing spot.
A great alternative to the generic hotel experience, this apartment is "authentic Montreal." -

We had a great time at le René-Lévèques! The bed was very comfortable, the couch too and we enjoyed the great big kitchen fully renovated.  There was gourmet coffee in the fridge and chocolate on the table when we arrived.  It's a very comfy apartment with quiet neighbors (but situated on a busy street so, if you're a light sleeper, you may want to bring your earplugs).  Tiny detail to be aware of, the  bathub is very tiny.  Also, during our stay, we could not enjoy the backyard as it was under renovations.  The location is very good: 2 blocks from a metro (subway) and bixi stations, very close to The Village, the Old port and the Latin quarter.  The owner Joanna is a delight to deal with, very helpful and she refunded our deposit very quickly  (a few hours after we left!).  We will definitely return! Thank you Joanna!

Left on 08/16/2012 for a stay in July 2012
My sister and I with each of our daughters took a weekend trip from Maine to Montreal. We were thrilled with the Big Chic apartment. Very special apartment and a great location. This was the first time we rented an apartment instead of staying in a hotel. We are so happy with our choice. We had our own little place with special comforts of privacy, a full kitchen to cook if we wanted, make coffee, enjoy our wine. We were in the heart of the city with parking right outside. Thank you Joanna for the accommodations. Just perfect!

My girlfriend and I decided to go to Montreal on vacation this summer. Not knowing where to start we called and e-mailed a number of places searching for just the right accommodation. When we spoke to Joanna about a possible rental of her apartment we immediately felt her sincerity and honesty and decided to take a chance and we are glad we did. The apartment was just as described by Joanna, the location was perfect, and we had the time of our lives. I would highly recommend the apartment to anyone visiting Montreal, I guarantee you would not be disappointed.

Perfext location, very close to old town and only a block away from st Catherine street, which when we were stsyng was the centre of the amazing jazz festival and art installations, Situated in a safe and busy neighbourhood so it always felt safe walking back at night.
The appartment was fantastically furnished, better than the pictures, with alovelg high ceiling. The kitchen was well supplied with a huge oven, microwave and fridge/freezer, so eating is was no problem.
We received great support from the owners. When the coffee machine wouldn't work they were around the next day with a new one. Extremely friendly people, who made us really feel welcome in montreal. They also offered great advice on what to see and do and on how to get around.
Ultimately this appartment was a real pleasure to return to in the evenings and to escape the heat during the day. Much much nicer than amy hotel room I have ever stayed in and much better value too.
I couldn't recommend this appartment more highly.

Belmont, MA, USAGreat apartment, great location, great owner
Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The apartment is on the 1st floor of a charming old-style building, with very high ceilings and details such as wooden shatters. Despite being in an old being, the apartment is newly renovated in a modern style. Furniture, kitchen, bathroom -- everything was clean and looked new. Window a/C unit provided comfort when it was 90F(30C) outside, at the same time masking the street noise. I cam imagine the street noise being a nuisance at other times, as the apartment is on the 1st floor facing a very busy street. While inside the apartment, we could occasionally hear people entering and leaving the building, but it was so rare that it wasn't an issue. We could not hear any neighbors otherwise.
The location is awesome. The old city is a short walk away, the Metro is two blocks away and there is free on street parking right next to the building. We were in town during a circus festival and many street performances were in a short walking distance from the apartment.
The owner is very easy and pleasant to deal with, well organized and very responsive. We were provided with a wealth of information prior to arriving. We even had a special request for flowers to be arranged in the apartment prior to our arrival and the owner was very happy to help and arranged everything efficiently and beautifully. -

Left on 07/18/2012 for a stay in July 2012
If you are looking for a real city experience, then this is the place for you! There is a bodega next door for goodness sake. Joanna, the owner of the apartment is super easy to work with and helped us throughout our visit. She had excellent recommendations and made sure that our stay was stress free. The apartment is beautifully designed and my children said that it was "relaxing and felt like we could live here!" The location is really good; We were walking distance to the old port, Latin quarter, the village, and downtown. Remember, this is city living. So, the neighborhood is not super quiet, nor free of street people, but I felt safe the entire visit. I would definitely stay here again and would easily recommend this property to friends, family, or strangers looking for a great place in a great location.

Left on 06/10/2012 for a stay in May 2012
I was very happy with the service even before I left for the trip to Montreal. Joanna responded to my emails very quickly. She provided me with lots of useful information. When I asked her about car rental she recommended a local company. She followed later with another email describing parking options in the neighborhood. The check in was very easy. The apartment very nice, I loved the decor and modern touches. Internet was fast. The little store next door is very useful. There is also a large store near by. We arrived in Montreal in the evening, dropped the suitcases in the apartment and took the short walk to the old town. It became our daily routine - it was great to be so close. We used the metro a lot as well and having the major station so close was another bonus.
The kitchen is well stocked with small appliances, pots, utensils, etc. There is lots of closet space, but no shelves or drawers. Some evenings we could hear the footsteps from the apartment above but we were not too bothered by it.

Left on 06/05/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Took my mother for her 63rd birthday. Owner was very easy to work with and very pleasant.
We found the place easily. Parking was super easy. Once you got into the apartmennt, it was new, cute and very clean. Everything well layed out and easy to find. Shower was great pressure.
We could walk everywhere from apartment (about 8-10miles in two days), only had to take metro once which was also easy and close to apartment. Used the little store next to place for little snacks and drinks.
Only things to be aware of (just so you know)...
Bring things like coffee, sugar, tea, etc. Places I've stayed in before would have some, but there was none.
The wood floor is newly done/stained and has a chemical smell to it. Had to burn candles a lot to get rid of smell while in the apartment.
You can hear the person above you when they are moving around and you can hear anyone walking down the stairs or leaving the apartment building.
