This is 1280 sq ft of home, where you can stretch out and relax after a day of exploring the city, read a book in the separate office off the living room, cook a meal in the full-kitchen, enjoy sleeping on a king-size bed with 400-thread count sheets, unwind in a jacuzzi bathtub, or entertain guests...Read more
A Home in the Heart of the Plateau
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
(Property location is approximate)
Additional Location Information
The apartment is perfectly located in the heart of the plateau in downtown Montreal. Most events are within walking distance as well as bakeries, coffee shops, tea houses, jazz bars, beautiful parks, cobblestone roads that lead you through the beautiful architecture that is Montreal. The metro is nearby (5 minute walk) and there is free parking in front or within a block of the apartment. Most often our guests don't use their cars since the downtown is a pedestrian lifestyle filled with energy and activities. The jazz festival, just-for-laughs festival, F1 race, fringe festival, fireworks competition is just a stone throw away from the apartment. St. Denis, Duluth, and Mont Royal are nearby and have an abundance of restaurant with various genres of food.
Some recommendations include seeing the old port in old Montreal. Old Montreal is pretty beautiful and you can either walk down there (about 20 - 25 minutes) or take the metro from Sherbrooke station to Place D'Armes (3 stops) and head south once you get out. The old port has a lot of restaurants and neat things to see. Just a block north of the apartment is Duluth St. It's a cobblestone street with a lot of restaurants. If you head west on Duluth street you will hit Mont Royal Mountain. Usually people congregate here to throw a frisbee, play volleyball, or just relax on the grass. You can head up the mountain by car or by foot to the top where there is a view of the city. I used to run up the mountain every couple days and the view was quite the reward. Just a block to the east of the apartment is St. Denis street. On this street you will find little boutiques and shops. If you head further east, there is a big park called Park Lafontaine. There is also St. Joseph's Oratory which is beautiful. I would also take a stroll down St. Catherine's St. there are a lot of people but it's worth a look. There is just so much to see.
For restaurants, there are so many and at different price ranges. Montreal is famous for Schwartz's smoked meat which is on St. Laurent St. and close to the apartment. There are a couple breakfast place that I like: Universel (on St. Denis and close), Chez Jojo (on Duluth and close), Cafeteria on St. Laurent, there is also a bakery on the West side of St. Denis between Pins Ave and St. Louis Square that makes all their croissants in-house (really good) but I have forgotten the name. For lunch, L`Avenue on Mont Royal is pretty good, La Banquise has good poutine (fries, gravy, and cheese) a french tradition. For dinner, there is l'Academie (culinary chefs in training), Amelio's (great pizza), Jardin Panos (greek),...
There are plenty of things around the apartment to keep you busy but most of all, you will live the Montreal lifestyle.
