Wilson, NCthis is the place you dreamed about
Left on 08/17/2012 for a stay in July 2012
At least for us, the image of a montreat vacation came to life here. The beautiful, quaint cottage is brief down hill walk to Lake Susan... yet, sitting on the back porch, you might as well be in the far reaches of the Pisgah. The right size for a family of four/five. Clean, well cared for home, with cable, wi-fi and a coffee maker (each a must for our crew). No aC, but even in July the evenings cooled down nice. No pets allowed, but plenty of crickets clammoring for attention all night.

LouisianaTotally relaxing!

This is our favorite place to stay in Montreat! The location by the creek and proximity to Lake Susan makes it convenient and so peaceful! The house has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The new furniture in the living room is a great addition!

Port Orange FLLet is Snow: Jones Cottage
Left on 01/12/2012 for a stay in January 2012
My family and I had a wonderful visit at Jones Cottage; the dusting of snow made it perfect. The layout of the house was both spacious and cozy! The location by the creek and a short walk to Lake Susan and assembly Inn; were great for attending our conference.

Pawleys Island, SCWe loved the peacefulness of the Jones Cottage
Left on 12/14/2011 for a stay in December 2011
The Jones Cottage was great. Our family loved the peacefulness, getting up in the morning and listening to the water from the creek with our morning coffee was so serene. The kids (my daughter is 14 and son is 22) loved "panning" for different colored stones in the creek. The house was awesome, plenty of room and well stocked in the kitchen had everything we needed to cook. The porch & gazebo is great for family to just sit and talk and have a good time. The grounds are great for hiking and exploring. Beautiful lake with swans, playground, tennis courts. Plenty of sites to see. We will definitely go back.

41034Great Thanksgiving stay
Left on 11/25/2011 for a stay in November 2011
We had a wonderful stay at this jewel in the mountains over Thanksgiving. It is a very charming cottage with a flowing stream in the back. It is conveniently located within walking distance to the heart of Montreat, and a short drive (5 min) to the town of Black Mountain. The accommodations are very comfortable including beds, sleeping loft (which might not be perfect for young children, however), cozy living room, and very well appointed kitchen. It has a large front deck and porch with gazebo that is perfect for sitting out and socializing (we had warm days during our visit). It also has a back porch that was nice for viewing the stream and surrounding flora. We strongly recommend this for anyone that is looking for a perfect mountain stay. Our only regret is that we do not own this special place.

Glad you enjoyed the home. It does have a truly sweet setting. Regarding the items you noted however...pillows of several depths have been purchased, the DVD is working now, and the back porch roof has been repaired. We hope you come and stay with us again. Thanks for your feedback!

Pittsburgh, PAOutdoor enjoyment
Left on 07/08/2009 for a stay in June 2009
We returned to Montreat with our teenaged sons eager to hike, golf, and relax. The Jones cottage was 1 of 3 that met our requirements during our available week. What an amazing treat!
My husband and I enjoyed listening to Flat Creek from the downstairs bedroom at night. We hung out reading on the porches, the hammock, and the benches. We ate every meal outdoors. We could start many of our daily hikes from the house. We had several local friends over to enjoy a meal instead of meeting at a restaurant. The appliances worked well and there were plenty of kitchen items for cooking and baking. Our boys spent hours playing the electric piano and hanging in the creek.
We would highly recommend this cottage for families with older kids. It was spacious enough for our family of 6, but really roomy since we were down to just 4. The loft provided great ventilation, but I would not have wanted to have younger kids using the sturdy ladder. The location by the creek was delightful and relaxing with older children.
