Description from the manager
St. Vincent & The Grenadines
A fantastic history
In the early 1960's, American expat Tom Johnston fell in love with the laid back pace of Bequia. He soon began to work on his legacy, Moonhole, an eclectic group of houses near secluded Moonhole Beach, on the island's Southwestern tip. Now you can rent his two bedroom stone and timber cottage with a whalebone chair and a four poster king size bed made of blue mahoe wood (both bedrooms are ensuite). Take in ocean vistas with great patios or from your bedroom, which has side by side picture windows that look out on neighbouring islands.

What Past Guests Are Saying
Imagine living like the Flintstones in a Tropical paradise
After flying from Barbados to Bequia on a twin prop plane, we landed at the empty Bequia airport to see goats roaming around and only 2 people working at the customs.
Soon ,we were met by a local who drove us down the beach, literally on the beach and off the side about a mile to the base of a carved out of rock paradise. We were warned that tthe walk up to the house was steep and they carried our luggage all the way up to the top of the hill where we discovered one of the most amazing houses we had ever seen. Carved entirely out of rock, with a couple of bedrooms, outdoor bathrooms, a full kitchen and some of the best 360degree views of the Grenadines. We could see St. vincent, Mustique and a few other small islands . A lot of the furniture was carved out of rock with some whale bones as well.
The house came with the a cook and caretaker although i preferred to cook all meals. the burke house is a gem of an experience unlike any vacation rental I have ever seen. No aC but with a fan it's fine. A few mosquitos at night but with some spray , it's fine.
My only complaint is that if you have gone into town and had a few too many , it's not an easy walk up in the dark..
We will always remember this house as one of the best times we have had as a family.
