Description from the owner
Welcome to the Robinson's Cove Villa, located along a small private beach in the heart of the splendid island of Moorea, 30 minutes away from Tahiti. Houses are rare in the neighborhood, and untouched nature is everywhere waiting for you. Our beach Villa is in an exceptional site, right by the lagoon in Opunohu bay (the most beautiful bay in all Polynesia according to yachtsmen!), surrounded by breathtaking peaks and by a luxurious nature famous for its untouched and original beauty. It is in this surrounding that historical films about Polynesia are regularly shot (Namely 'The Bounty' in 1984 with Mel Gibson, etc). The largest private yachts...Read more

Orange County CAVilla Wallis - Spectacular Views from Inviting Lanai
Left on 02/28/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We had a very nice (but not outstanding) stay at Villa Wallis.
Location: The villa is well located near most of Moore's attractions.
Lanai & view: The view is incredible! The Villa is right on the bay. We spent most of our time on the Lanai, enjoying the view. There is a dining set, 2 lounge chairs and a couch. The couch is narrow and not too comfortable by american starndards. There's (a tired) hammock to sit in and enjoy the view too.
Bay: There is a kayak to use - definitely recommend taking it out for a spin or two in the bay. The bay in front of the villa seems full of coral, making it difficult for me to enjoy myself in the water as it was a bit treacherous given my limited snorkeling skills. Paul allen (co-founder of Microsoft) parked his behemoth yacht in the bay for a few days while we were there.
Furniture: Although attractive, the furniture in the living room is not comfortable - small, narrow and wicker. I am 5' 4" and weigh only 125 lbs. The couch was not inviting - in fact, it was the opposite - hard, not-cushy and uncomfortable to sit in.
Bugs: Lots of mosquitos and no-seeums. So, bring lots of repellent and use it indoors and outdoors. We woke up with bug bites.
Deposit: Our deposit was fully refunded in only 2 days.
Transfers/car: We booked transfers from/to the ferry dock and these were pleasant and on time. The parking space for the villa is extremely difficut to manuever. For this reason, I would probably not stay here again. If you were a valet parker in college, then no big deal. But, given the shape and design of the parking space, I suspect most people would have trouble parking. This aggravated my boyfriend a lot every day.
Kitchen: The kitchen is very well-equipped for a rental. You need to light the stove manually with matches.
Alex: Alex the manager is very helpful and her English is fine.
Tv: There is a TV, but no cable. Dvd's only. You may want to bring some in case it rains.Response from Denis L. - 03/02/2013
Owner
Thank you for your review. It sounds like you had mosquitos, which does happen indeed when rains occurs. Concerning furniture, all our furniture is brand new, made in tropical wood, and we never use wicker in our Villas. Parking: if you are an adept of large parking spaces and 4WD this will be a real disapointement indeed, but it conforms to European standards and is much easier than parking in London streets! There is no good cable TV in French Polynesia and programs are in local Tahitian language (!), our clients prefer to snorkel which is easy and excellent in front of our Villas because there is a large drop off after the coral, located only 20 meters from the beach. One more point, there is no surge where we are located (which is great for children) because we are very protected and far from the reef, hence why yachts like Paul Allen's always anchor there. Thank you for your review and your appreciation of Alex, our property manager, living in our grounds. She is also the webmaster of a famous Tahitian web site we run for 10 years, so she is in contact with all leisure providers and can help you organise any outgoings or activities you could wish.

Boston, Massachusetts, United StatesLiving in Paradise!
Left on 10/18/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We chose to rent the Cook Villa for the first week of our honeymoon because we did not want to spend the whole two weeks at a resort; we wanted to be able to come and go as we pleased, cook some meals and spend time "at home". This villa was pure paradise. We were picked up at the ferry on time by a taxi that Dennis hired for us, Alix, the caretaker, greeted us, showed us around the house, and gave us suggestions of things to do and restaurants to try. French is her first language, but we were able to communicate in English pretty well. This house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms; I would suggest it for one couple, two couples, or a family, as I think the loft would only be comfortable for children. All of the bay-facing walls are large glass sliding doors, which open up the whole house during the day. The kitchen had surprisingly new appliances and all the basic cooking tools you would need. The washer and dryer were a plus! Outside there is an outdoor couch, chaise lounges with pillow-like cushions, a table and chairs, and plastic chairs on the beach, so you can relax outside all day and into the night! The view from the house is incredible, I took so many pictures of the mountain across the bay, the opening to the bay, and underwater on the coral wall where we snorkeled every day. A lot of the reviews and the packet Dennis provided warned about bugs, so I had feared large creepy things, but the house was spotless when we arrived, and we didn't see many more bugs than the mosquitoes at night and super tiny ants, both of which we easily warded off with coils, an ant trap, and putting away food asap. The house is beautifully and uniquely decorated; you can tell that Dennis really loves this place. The outdoor shower which looks out over the bay really feels like a Polynesian oasis. There were speakers and a cord for plugging in our ipod, which was great for hanging out at night with some music! The only downside I found was that the mattress in the master bedroom was pretty hard, so I was ready for a hotel bed after 6 nights.
We relaxed, snorkeled on the beautiful coral wall right in front of the house, kayaked in the bay, cooked some meals and ate some out, did an aTV tour, went diving, and napped a lot! On our first day of scuba diving we went with the suggested scuba company, which is located at the Moorea Pearl resort. The resort is definitely more French guests than English-speaking, but the dive guide didn't seem to mind saying everything in French and English. We thought the dives would be in the same place if we went with them again, so we did our second day of diving at the Intercontinental resort, which was a larger, but more crowded boat. The aTV tour was fun, but was a bit slow for us - we spent a lot of time stopped and waiting for everyone to get back on their atvs - again, the guide did not mind saying everything in French and then English. A hiking guide was suggested in the packet provided by Dennis, but the price was about $300 I think, so we opted to find the Three Coconut Pass trail on our own from Belvedere Lookout. It turned out to be pretty easy to follow - there aren't any signs, but for the most part there was just one path and we ran into enough hikers who helped us that it was really easy.
Having the rental car was great - there is just one main road around the whole island, so navigating is easy. The whole island felt very safe - we did lock up the house whenever we left, but felt totally comfortable driving around or going for a run on the road. We went to some restaurants and enjoyed some meals at the resorts on the island - Hilton, Sofitel, and Legends. Best restaurants we went to were Snack Mahana, Les Tipianeres, and "K" at the Sofitel resort.
Overall, it was the most wonderful vacation experience we have ever had and a great place to enjoy the beginning of our honeymoon - we went to the Four Seasons at Bora Bora the following week, which was also wonderful. Dennis was so helpful before the trip and alix was available for any questions and even for making reservations for us! Pepsi, Alix's dog, is of course the best - she hung out with us everyday on our deck and had excellent manners. We genuinely plan on coming back to Cook Villa with another couple one day, as it is pure paradise! -

Fort Davis, TXThe convenience of home with the ambiance of paradise
Left on 10/08/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We had read the reviews here and had seen the photos, so we expected a great experience. We were not disappointed. Cook Villa was the perfect size for the 4 adults on our trip. As "foodies" we loved the well-stocked kitchen, with lots of dinnerware, cookware, utensils and spices already on hand. The nearby market had plenty of interesting food for economical cooking options. The house was spacious and clean, offering lots of helpful items you would have at your own home. Alix was a gracioius and attentative hostess, who greeted us with a lot of very helpful information. Robinson Cove arranged for a car and boat rental, which was all handled seamlessly. We had easy access to the motus for snorkeling, and were able to drive to anywhere on the island for sightseeing and shopping. The wifi allowed us to touch base with our businesses without being an interruption to our relaxation. We truly got our money's worth and would go again in a heartbeat.

Left on 08/19/2012 for a stay in July 2012
July 25- August 5, 2012. The best 12 days of our lives! We have booked a number of vacation homes online and all have been great, but they always do not live up to their billing. That is not the case with Villa Wallis and Robinson's Cove Villas. This wonderful Villa and location were so much more than expected or advertised. Nothing that is written or photographed can prepare you for the beauty of the Villa and Opunuho Bay and Moorea. It is beyond description, it has to be experienced,
We started making our plans with the owner Denis over about a year before our visit. He was extremely helpful the whole way. We exchanged emails many times over the course of the year. He answered all our questions. He and his family live in France so it sometimes took a day or so to hear back, but always did and with all the information we requested. The packet of information he send you is invaluable. It was full of great information for the trip. Making the reservation was easy!
Upon arrival in Tahiti, we took the aremiti 5 Ferry to Moorea at 7:30 a.m. Upon leaving the ferry we were greeted by our transfer to Robinson's Cove and Villa Wallis and whisked away for a beautiful ride around Cooks Bay to Opunuho Bay. We were greeted at the gate by alix, the caretaker, and immediately shown to Villa Wallis. Denis, was staying at Villa Cook while we were there and came over to introduce himself and show us around personally with alix. He was a wealth of information on what to do in Moorea and each piece of advice or suggestion was worthwhile. Each one a hit! He also showed us the Ford Focus we included in the rental with Wallis. You must have the car here to enjoy the island and get around.
Villa Wallis was amazing! More beautiful than the pictures and very comfortable to say the least. The bed was perfect as was the kitchen, shower area deck, beach and everything else that was Robinson's Cove. We had great baguettes on the deck every morning with local jam and were given passion fruit grown on the tree out back by Denis' wife Sandrine. Try them! The Villa was fabulous! The beach private and the best place to while away the days. We would have a visit from Pepsi, the dog each day and we were entertained by her all day. She comes on the deck, but knows not to enter the house. The snorkeling out front is so nice. The water so clear and then when you get to the drop off it turns the most deep blue you have ever seen. A small grill is onsite if you want to buy some local fish and have a cook out as we did. The deck is a perfect place to relax at night with t punch or Hinano beer. You have more than you need here and the spectacular view through the glass sliding doors every morning when you wake up of the Bay and the two mountains across the Bay. Spectacular, and we miss it to this day. You will have no problem occupying your time here! This is paradise like you have never seen!
The store in Maharepa became our favorite. Its a short drive or a 2 1/2 hr. walk there if you try it like we did but take a cab back. The store is well equipped and alcohol sales stop after 7 p.m. as we found out at the checkout. So much to do here. The horseback riding was fantastic (do it), the boat to Motu Moea for lunch at Coco Beach was the absolute most fun we had the whole time. We rented the boar from Charlotte at Locaboat at the Le Tapaniers Hotel. The snorkeling on the way to the Motu with the rays and black tip sharks was fine as was snorkeling afterward between the two Motu's. The lunch at Coco Beach was excellent! (do it). Tiki Village was fine! The traditional Feast at Pinapo Beach, not to be missed. The snacks were all wonderful, Great pizza at allo Pizza and Piza Daniel and even the Hotel Intercontinental. We both got tattoos from James Samuela while there. We bought pearls from Eva Perles in Maharepa.
The whole place was amazing. Get out and walk a little and see things from that perspective, but most of all relax, enjoy and realize you are one of the lucky ones to be staying at Robinson's Cove Villas and to be living on Moorea for the time you are there. It is all magical and beyond description. Do note have any hesitation with renting this Villa. You will not be disappointed in the least. Everything went as planned and effortlessly.
Unfortunately, when we left alix had arranged the transfer back to the ferry and it arrived on time and we had to leave! So heartbreaking for both of us! We will alway carry Robinson's Cove, Opunuho Bay, Moorea, and Villa Wallis with us forever. Thanks so much to Denis, Sandrine, Kimberly, Alix, and Pepsi for being the best of hosts and having such a wonderful place for all of us to visit and be a part of! We were truly blessed.
As far as the deposit refund, well we left the morning of the 5th to go to Huahine for a few days and when I checked my email the 6th (next day) it had been posted on my PayPal account! Unreal!

Left on 06/14/2012 for a stay in May 2012
I planned our Polynesian vacation without my husband's input, so he had no idea what to expect. But during our week at Robinson's Cove, he kept repeating comments like "...I can't believe how terrific this place is!" and "...You are so amazing to have found this incredible house!". So that gives you an idea of how much we enjoyed our stay. Denis was very helpful before our arrival, and alix was super during our stay. The location of the house was amazing, right on the water, with excellent snorkeling right there in front of the house. The house itself was airy and spacious, clean and well kept, and we felt instantly comfortable - despite being Canadians far from home! We found the breezes off the water were ideal here, and only used the bedroom a/C for an hour during our whole week's stay --- other places we visited in FP were more humid, but not Robinson's Cove. A real highlight for me was spending time on the gorgeous wrap around porch. It's very private, and the outdoor furnishings are high quality and terrifically comfortable -- there's a long cushioned sofa, two long cushioned chairs, a hammock, and a lovely table with 4 cushioned chairs. When your goal is to relax, read, nap and watch the scenery, it's important to have comfy places to do so. Robinson's Cove really provided this. The car was great, easy to drive, and was an excellent addition to our stay, I'd definitely recommend hiring the car with the house. The kitchen was also super - it's so much less stressful to be able to eat at "home" vs always having to go out and buy all your meals at a hotel dining room or restaurant. There are lots of yummy restaurants around though, so you do have plenty of choices. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Robinson's Cove, particularly as a private romantic getaway for two...it was perfect!!

New YorkFantastic villa in a tropical paradise
Left on 03/07/2012 for a stay in February 2012
Moorea is a magical place, staying here (Villa Wallis, the middle of the 3 properties) was such a treat. For the brief time we were there we felt we were part of island life.
Villa Wallis is beautiful; spacious with indoor & outdoor living, newly built, very clean, and incredibly located on it's own small beach in Opunohu Bay. So tranquil and (I think) the most beautiful of the two bays.
Our Highlights:
- Stepping off the deck and snorkeling in the bay is fantastic, there's a fish filled reef steps into the water and an impressive underwater cliff.
- picking passionfruit off the vine in the front garden for breakfast
- listening to the ocean at night in bed
- all day sun on our beach
- we loved the freedom of the car (which came with the villa) to explore the whole island; buying fruit & fish off the roadside, hiring Kayaks to paddle ourselves to the motu's, going for lunch at 'Snack Mahana'
- The worlds politest dog, Pepsi, lives next door (with alix), she won't come in unless invited (& never begs for food), but she is delightful and very much added to our experience
- Alix is super helpful and arranged a private boat trip (Polynesian Spirit); there are so many things to do on Moorea which were explained when we arrived
also good; wi-fi & some much needed a/C in the bedroom.
Packing tips; snorkel/mask & flippers, lots of strong sunscreen. Lots of Mosquito repellent (we were 90% covered in deet and still got bitten, alot!). If you like Dvd's, the player works with European ones.
Overall an excellent property on an exceptional island, I highly recommend them and hope one day to be back! -

Where do I begin... Almost a year ago we began planning our trip to Moorea. I found Robinson's Cove without really looking & knew we had to go! Denis, Alix & the Robinson's Cove property did not disappoint us!
We stayed in the Villa Wallis bungalow. It's the newest of the 3 villas & absolutely beautiful! The villa is spacious with an open living area & a loft upstairs for multiple guests. It has dark wood everywhere, beautiful chic island decor, and the entire half of the villa can be opened! There are many windows & fans & 2 very large pocket style sliding glass doors that make the entire half of the villa open to the most beautiful views of Opunuha Bay! This villa has a full kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, large beautiful bathroom & tiled open rain water shower. The bedroom has a large closet & shelving hidden by a wall & the comfy bed faces the large door looking out into the bay. The best part about this villa is the large deck with full table/chairs, chaise lounges, sofa, hammock & steps down to your own private beach leading to crystal clear ocean & reef with shelf drop off perfect for snorkeling!! We snorkeled tons & saw 2 eels, an octopus and tons of beautiful exotic fish! We used the kitchen every day & cooked most of our meals ourselves from fresh food/produce from the markets on the island.
We stayed 10 nights 11 days & we were accommodated to the fullest extent. Our rental included a car & shuttle to & from the airport. Alix & her daughter live on the property & were so very helpful & we hardly noticed she was there! Being that this paradise is on an island you may have a few kinks to work out when staying here. But rest assured there are no kinks that can't be worked out & that will make your paradise vacation any less enjoyable. We came to Robinson's Cove during a drought and had some water pressure issues initially but it was totally doable. We got a huge tropical storm on day 4 I think & our water problems were essentially solved! Also, being on an island paradise there are bugs as can be expected, but nothing large, ants, a rare beetle type bug, but mostly Mosquitos. The local stores have coils & bug spray better than anything one can buy in the us!! Mainly at dusk is when the Mosquitos come out, and rest assured, every mosquito bite was worth the absolute paradise!! The coils & spray work wonders!
Moorea is a small island with local people living & working on the island, which makes it a much slower pace/life on this island. We chose Moorea for this reason. We wanted to slow down, relax, enjoy the beauty of the island & really catch up on some much needed R&R;! We loved exploring the island & getting a great taste of the local life. There are good restaurants to eat & an amazing spa "Helene Spa" at the Intercontinental hotel and there are other excursions you can do although we chose to relax more than play.
Robinson's Cove made our much needed vacation in paradise a perfect place to relax, rejuvenate & recharge. The villa was perfect & we couldn't have asked for anything more perfect for our dream vacation come true! Thank you Denis & Alix! We hope to return one day in the future & would definitely come back to Robinson's Cove!! -

A Truly Wonderful Place
Left on 03/06/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Moorea was our last stop on a six week Polynesian tour of Tahiti, Bora Bora, Huahine, and Raiatea. Robinson's Cove was a great climax to our trip - lovely accommodations on the most beautiful Bay on the most beautiful island.
The hut had such wonderful spaces- large, open rooms with a huge wraparound porch. The sliding doors slide completely out of the way so that the inside space is seamless to the outside. The many lights illuminate the outside beautifully at night. The outdoor showers were really well done, and a real treat. The kitchen was modern and well-equiped.
But the real treat is the location. It is quite private, and right on a beautiful beach. The snorkeling is fantastic right in front of the hut, but not great for swimming as the coral is only a couple of feet below the surface until 50 feet or so out, and then there is a underwater cliff. The scenery is spectacular, and Opunohu Bay is virtually unspoiled.
We had rented a car from Denis, the owner, and it was very worthwhile. The island is beautiful, and appears to have some good places to eat, although it is so beautiful at Robinson's Cove that we rarely went out in the evening. A trip to the Belvedere is a must; it is a truly spectacular vista overlooking Cooks and Opunohu Bays.
Denis was very pleasant and easy to deal with over the internet, and had many suggestions of places to visit and things to do. Alix lives next door and does an excellent job of looking after anything you might need, without being obtrusive in any way.
We loved it here -beautiful, private, quiet, and romantic. -

For too many years now, Alain and I have been running around the world, most of the time separately, chasing the professional emergencies.
Deciding to stop and escape to Tahiti was a last minute decision, one that we plunged into without truly realizing it until we find ourselves at 11PM in LAX waiting to board the AF flight which was to take us there.
And the world stopped!
Landing in Moorea as the sun was turning bright, driving to Robinson's cove in the wet heat of the morning, discovering the house with its large wrap around porch wading into the sea, natural bathrooms and peaceful floor plan was the beginning of our escape.
We surveyed all the food stores of the area, found out where to find fresh fish and the best mosquito repellent of the entire tropical world,
We served diner on the porch all with candlelight and jazz music as the wind died and the mountains turned somber
We rented small boats and navigated inside the lagoon, careful to ignore the champs de patates which we could see, dark and rounded against the transparent turquoise waters
we swam with the sting rays leery of the peaceful sand sharks
We visited Tahiti and the Gauguin museum
and we talked and talked and talked about what we should do once we jump off of our crazy professional lives.
It was beautiful, it was friendly, it is a place we will go back to. -

We stayed at Robinson Cove in December of 2009. We rented the villa for one week, and it was not enough. We just feel in Love with Moorea, and it's wonderful people. We had the pleasure of having the owner Denis in Moorea during our stay. He is a book of knowledge, and we enjoyed our time that we spent with him. His villa has everything you need to make your Holiday a special one. The outdoor showers are the best. Denis can help arrange all the extra's to make your Holiday a memorable one. We just can't wait to return. Thanks again Denis for our wonderful Holiday.

Our visit at Robinson's Cove was more than we imagined. Denis, the owner thought of everything we needed to be comfortable at his villa. We slept in the Bedroom next to the water...the full moon at night shining down on the water was like a dream. The boat Denis, recommended we rent for a few days, allowed us to manuver our way to snorkel with black tip reef sharks and sting rays, and spend all day picnicing (privately) at motu's, (small island)only about 30 minute boat ride. After our full days of exploring the beautiful island and reefs of Moorea, each evening the Villa's large deck was our sanctuary. We enjoyed looking out at the cliffs of this Magnificent Place on Earth! We hope to return again, and Highly recommend this Perfect Gem that we were fortunate to Find!!

We had a very enjoyable vacation to Moorea and staying at Robinson's Cove was a great place to be. If your looking for a resort experience then don't stay here, if you want privacy, a private beach, beautiful views of the bay and mountains then Robinson's Cove is what you want. This is an older island style house that has been renovated tastefully by the owner. The house is situated right on the bay so you are just steps from the master bedroom or deck to the water.
Denis, the owner was a great host and also very helpful and informative regarding activities, day trips and dinning. We highly recommend this rental on Moorea. -

There is nothing better than the snorkeling in the bay in front of Robinson’s Cove Villa. We have been to Australia’s Heron Island, the Big Island of Hawaii, St. Croix and Baja to snorkel. Opunohu Bay is #1. This is the perfect location to get away from it all, enjoy your companion, and listen to the water in the bay gently splush against the beach. From AM coffee to evening wine the deck is the place to enjoy the view, read, visit and relax. We have been twice and hope to return again.
The villa has everything you could need. Shopping is a ways away- but it is an adventure to enjoy. Don’t miss doing the trip with Rupe and buying chicken from a road side van. The owner is very helpful with planning and setting up the rental and sending information about Moorea. -

What a great place. We have been to Tahiti numerous times, but this was our first time on Moorea. When we arrived we thought we had died and gone to heaven, it was just beautiful, and the house was laid out perfect and was exceptionally clean. Privacy is a must for us, and we really had it here. Waking up and going to sleep every day with a phenomenal view from the deck and beach was breathtaking every day. Dennis was about as helpful as you could be, he set us up with all kinds of things to do and see. We rented a boat for 5 of our days, and used it every day, a little expensive, but we could come and go as we pleased. You can set up with Dennis a day trip out to the stingrays, and lunch on a secluded island restaurant or just motor around the island, there is so much to see, and it’s all beautiful, that you will want to do this at least once. The car that comes with the house is very nice and comfortable, and we used it a lot to drive back and forth to the market and for drives around the island. Privacy, cleanliness, beauty, relaxing, and value best describes Robinson Cove, hard to beat if your looking for something other than resorts with the higher costs, quite often crowded with tourists, and a not so natural atmosphere. If you choose Robinson Cove I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

My husband and I stayed at Robinson's Cove in July 2009 for the first week of a 2-week 20th Anniversary trip. Having four kids (between the ages of 16 and 8) we were looking to "get away from it all", and this place really fit the bill. We don't like traditional hotels and wanted to be away from the crowds and on our own - we got everything we were looking for and then some. The house was fantastic - floor to ceiling sliding windows in the back that opened up to the lapping water on the beach. Nicely furnished home with everything you need (plus wi-fi, kayak, washing machine/dryer, etc), and amazing, romantic, open-air bathrooms that were to die for! The staff were very kind and helpful - they were there when we needed them and made themselves scarce when we didn't. Denis, the owner, did a great job of communicating with me before the trip and even sent us a special package once our reservation was firm. If you want to stay somewhere romantic and quiet, where you can be on your own in paradise, this is definitely the place. LOVED it!

Organising a holiday to Robinson's Cove Villa via internet and email worked out very well, mainly because the owner Denis gave plenty of information and was very helpful giving lots of friendly tips with any queries we had. The service was fantastic, we were met at the airport to be transported to the Villa and Jacques and Alex (also very friendly and helpful) had arranged for our 1st night dinner plus basic supplies put into the fridge. We arrrived in the evening and could not believe how beautiful it was. The outdoor spotlight was shining on the beach and water, we put our things inside and loved the decor of the Villa (the outdoor shower was especially enjoyed)then sat out on the decking with the doors open. In the morning we realised there were magnificent mountains to look at across the water, we could walk about five steps to the water and snorkel. We canoed regularly. We were in paradise ! We had a car to drive around in and the local shops were good, local people generally seemed happy, and relaxed. We hardly noticed any flies or mosquitoes and could sit outdoors every evening with warm, balmy weather - I did not wear long sleeves for the whole time I was there, I thought I may need something in the evenings so came prepared but did not need anything. The only thing we could find that was not perfect was the pillows - they use fairly flat pillows and we are used to sleeping with higher ones ! Overall we would definately recommend staying here - loved it.
