We enjoyed every moment of our stay and haven't left the villa very often becauce it's not so easy to find another place with such a beautiful view. The provisions in the kitchen and the cleaning in the middle of our stay were luxuary. The manager was very nice and cooperative.

The service and response to our inquiries as well as during our stay was exceptional. This place has it all and the detail in what you just might need has already been thought of. Beautiful view, top notch amenties, super clean, loved the outside veranda, just nothing to say but awesome in every way. And I am a very finicky person so up to my standards is beyond the normal bar!!
Driving there was half the fun, close to everything and there is lots to do but enjoyed the down time in a beautiful home. We ordered one of the Yellow Tribes pictures to remember our time there always... -

North Vancouver, BC, CanadaWonderful experience - as advertised!
Left on 08/08/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Casa Windlenook was exactly as advertised and formed the basis of our best week in Spain. The property has a beautiful view (not 360 but a gorgeous vista of sea and the hills/mountains) and more privacy than most of the units in this development. It was clean, fresh, well-appointed and comforable. The extra touches of comfortable outdoor furniture, a good BBQ, beach umbrella, books and games and key kitchen gadgets all came in handy. The small private pool was a huge hit with our entire family. A bonus was the friendly and attentive local caretaker. We would definitely return should we get back to Spain.

Left on 08/08/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We really enjoyed our holidays at Casa Windlenook. The description on the website of Casa Windlenook and the information given by the owners are very accurate. So we found what we expected: a comfortable, very well equiped home. With a splendid view on the Mediterranean Sea. The area is very calm. We enjoyed the different possibilities Casa Windelook offers to its visitors: reading a book on one of the terraces; diving into the pool, watching films on the home cinema system; cooking a meal or using the barbecue system. You can also connect your laptop easily to the internet. The quality of the beds is very good.
It was the best villa we rented so far. We can recommend it to everyone. -

This was our first time to rent a place and we could not have been happier. The pictures are representative, and you really do have that view of the Mediterranean! There may be a lot of places to visit in the area, but we were surprised how much we enjoyed just being at the villa. Highly recommend you get a European Garmin or other NaV device as the villa is tucked away.

What they say you get is exactly what you get at this lovely little getaway by the Mediterranean.
My sister, Kathy, was in Spain to celebrate her 60th, and so we had the best "sistah" time ever, without hubbies or kids or animals. What a treat!
Kathy so enjoyed the superior linens she went online immediately to order them for her own lake house in the U.S.
We highly recommend Casa Windlenook to anyone who wants a lovely space, special treatment, and a wonderful view of the sea. The sun even cooperated in mid-March, and we were able to lounge by the pool and take a dip. What a treat!
Thank you to Eleanor and Mike for providing such a comfortable retreat and to Keith for his on-the-spot management. Superior!

Everything about this villa was organized and well thought through. The owners are veyr friendly and cooperative. The beds were the best I ever slept in in Spain which is known for having very hard madrasses in general. The wireless internet was working perfect and we would have been lost without it. The villa has one of the best views in the area and the heather at the terrace made it pleasant to sit outside in the evenings even in November. I can highly recommend this villa to anyone who needs a rest from the huzzle and buzzle of life!!!

Our stay was fabulous. The view of the Mederteanean from the patio while sharing a meal and wine with my wife we be remembered forever. The area was quiet in ealy October with less than 1/3 of the adjacent properties occupied. Moraria which is a short drive away is small enough to be foot friendly and large enough to be interesting. If you are in town at 10 am on any weekday be sure to go to the fish auction at the marina.
A great place to relax and refresh. -

Left on 08/22/2010 for a stay in August 2010
First of all, we have two thank the owner of the villa for a great communication and help at everytime. We could sent an email if we had problems and 5 minutes later we received an answer. Thank you for this unique cooperation.
According to the house...
We found a great house with all the equipment we needed and the pool is very very nice. Moreover, we profited from an amazing view from the terrace to the sea.
The managers of the villa looked for the pool every 3 days and a cleaning team cleanded the house once the week.
Concluding, there was nothing, we could have missed in the Casa Windlenook.
To put in a nutshell, we all have been very happy during this two weeks and we enjoyed our stay very much.
We only can recommend a stay in the Casa Windlenook.
Thank you. -

Through enquiry, booking and finally staying at Windlenook the attention to detail that Eleanor & Mike give to their rental is excellent. We wanted for nothing whilst we stayed at the villa; it is equipped to a high standard with everything you will need ...plus some more. The location is superb and very peaceful; an ideal spot to chill out. There is also plenty to do and see in the area if you feel inclined.

Toronto, Canada5 star experience on the med-what a view -what a villa
Left on 05/06/2010 for a stay in April 2010
Words cannot describe this vacation experience. From the moment we found the private villa on the VRBO website we never looked back. The owners responded to our inquires in a quick and friendly fashion and with a great deal of clarity. The organization of payment and acquiring the keys was very easy. Direction were specific and easy to follow.
Now to address the vacation spot. As others have said the view is fantastic. The private pool was always at 32 degress celcius. The ammenities bar none. All rooms had an amazing view. Bedrooms are very private. The kitchen has all the applicances you would ever need -including a juicer that for us came in very handy. The fireplace in the living room and upscale BBQ were great additions. We cannot say enough about how positive this rental experience was for us. The owners left a very detailed manual addressing everything in the villa as well as places to visit and where to buy the essentials (and provided some on arrival which we very much appreciated). There is a plaza within walking distance with a couple of restaurants; however, it is important to note you do need a car to see the sites and the owners in there advertisement were very clear about this. Having said that the sites to see by car in a very short distance -10 to 30 minutes away are spectacular. This is a wonderful spot to spend time and regroup as a family, group of friends or a romantic hide a way. Don't hesitate to investigate this vacation spot. As a last note the couple who act on behalf of the owners are very gracious and helpful in becoming familiar with the villa. -

Amazing location with great service.
We arrived to a clean and well appointed villa with no problems - the
directions sent to us were comprehensive and easy to follow. As a nice
touch, we were supplied with enough food for a breakfast to hold us over
until we could get to the local grocery. All of the appliances, to include the
fireplace, came with instructions for use and the original documentation.
The pool was fabulous - if you go when it is chilly like we did, buy the
optional heating and take a dip in the warm water!
The owners of Casa Windlenook have a true gem in Karen - just a phone
call away if there is anything you need or any question answered.
Overall, this is a great villa in a beautiful location. Very peaceful and
relaxing. We would recommend this particular villa in a heartbeat, without
reservation, to our families and friends. Thanks Eleanor and Mike for a
wonderful week on the Spanish Mediterranean coast! -

When I first contacted the owners of Casa Windlenook, they were quick to
reply and provided me will all the valuable information I needed to decide
on a vacation home. We requested to stay for 5 days and 4 nights, and
since we were arriving past midnight on the first night, they accommodated
for a late check-out on the final day.
We were blown away when we arrived at Casa Windlenook. The owners
really did think of everything! The fridge was stocked with necessities to
get us through breakfast, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a
nice Thanksgiving meal, there were movies and books to keep us occupied,
and the pool was heated! The view from the balcony was truly
breathtaking.
The location was perfect in the hills of Cumbre del Sol. Not too far from the
town of Moraira, and there was a nearby grocery store.
The property manager was kind enough to check on us to ensure we had
everything we needed.
If you're looking for a beautiful, relaxing getaway, Casa Windlenook is the
place! Don't make too many plans, for you might find yourself wanting to
stay in the home for your entire vacation! -

spaingreat house, but crowded stone beach
Left on 09/18/2009 for a stay in August 2009
house was very well adapted
the beach nearby was too crowded and with no sand (stones)
the ladder of the mountain is all built up with buildings, so be prepared to be
surrounded by neighbours all the way around, you are not alone in the
mountain at all
the swimming pool is smaller than it seams it is good if you just wish to
refresh
the owners have greate instructions in the house
not possible to go by walk around, it is better if you have a small car to move,
not possible to rice a bike around, too many slopes
the owners are really nice otherwise and all the details are really cute
to my taste, overpriced during the summer season
oh, the views are good but not as great as it actually looks like in the pics...
again, the owners are extremely nice, but i would not repeat the experience...Response from Eleanor & Mike - 09/20/2009

This review starts with 'Great House' - and we appreciate the very complimentary comments about the villa and the services we provided to these guests...... as always we're delighted at how much they enjoyed their stay!
We do provide a lot of information about the many nearby sandy beaches in the villa and also on our website - we're sorry that it seems the guests only found the pebble beach which was not to their taste. The villa is situated in a residential area quite high on a hillside (which guarantees those fantastic views!) so yes, we do certainly recommend car hire for getting around. Our website does feature lots of photos and information which accurately represent the lovely views and the pool - and we're always happy to provide more information or photos on request!
In future we would certainly recommend that if the guests prefer a quiet beach holiday, or to be alone on a mountain, then perhaps the peak season is not the best time for them to holiday - obviously it can get quite busy on the beaches during the August school holidays.
We are pleased that the guests' comments show that they did clearly enjoy the villa, and we thank them also for their email saying ' Our stay was very nice - thank you!’ The rating of 2 stars is obviously a disappointment to us given how happy the guests were with the villa and our service. Whilst we always try our very best to give a 5 star experience, unfortunately the pebbly beach / hilly location are outside of our control.
We do though value the feedback as always, and thank them for having taken the time to post their comments.

After many disappointing and stressful package holidays we decided to try something different and after a lot of searching on the web came across CasaWindlenook. The villa stood out among all the rest but as so often happens we were half expecting to find that on arrival it did not have live up to our expectations. We couldn't have been more wrong! The villa was exceptional! It was spotlessly clean and equipped to a very high standard. Each room had a remote controlled air con system and a remote controlled ceiling fan.The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed for the duration of our stay although the gas fired barbecue on the terrace got lots of use. The vista from the pool and the upper terrace is breathtaking and a joy to wake up to every morning. The pool is not huge but was more than big enough for all of us. The Pepe La Sal supermarket is about 5 minutes away by car and was very reasonable. Moraira is the closest town and was absolutely charming especially at night not to touristy and with loads of lovely restaurants. The owners Eleanor and Mike could not have been more helpful from the time of booking and kept regular contact by e-mail. To finish i would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone and already have. The worst part of the holiday was having to leave!

After 3 weeks of driving through Spain at a pretty fast pace, trying to see everything we could in the time we had, Casa Windlenook was the perfect place to spend our last few days... it was a totally relaxing experience, and the views were amazing! Eleanor and Mike had provided all the comforts of home, plus so many things that added to our stay. They had taken care of the smallest detail, even adding stamps to the postcards they provided at the villa:) The villa is beautiful and comfortable in every aspect. The refrigerator was stocked with enough food to keep us going until we could get to the grocery store, and the property manager (a very friendly and helpful lady) stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. We would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a relaxing experience, away from the hustle and bustle of most hotel settings. Another bonus is that the villa actually costs less to rent than most hotels charge, and offers so much more. The villa sits high on a hill in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood, and it takes about 10 minutes to drive to the grocery store or the beach. Eleanor and Mike made finding the villa a fun experience by providing directions that made us feel like we were on a 'treasure hunt'. Once we arrived, we felt we truly had found a treasure.
We will cherish our memories of our time at Casa Windlenook!
Thanks Eleanor and Mike!
