You fall in love with some places at first sight. With some other places you fall in love gradually, within time and for various reasons. And with some other places love is simply not meant to be.
It is hard to be indifferent towards Motovun. It will certainly make an impression and you will keep coming back to this hill 277 meters above the sea level to see what makes Motovun so attractive and unique: its medieval walls and towers, steep streets, stone houses, city pallaces with many coats of arms on their facades, squares, churches, or an unforgettable view overlooking the valley of the Mirna river. The Motovun forest is the dwelling place of the famed underground mushrooms, black and white truffles. Around Motovun lie vineyards from which come the renowned Istrian vines, teran and malvasia.
